1. Get the Hollow Wheels V3 at dkwan.com/hollow/ and use my referral code *_DKWAN_* at checkout for the biggest discount. 2. The wheels don't actually squeak and they don't come in pink. Sorry Josh. 3. Have a great week!
I’ve been riding the v1 since they came out, the inserts makes a lot of difference because it reinforces the “tire wall” and greatly improved range while also decreasing “comfort”. Without the insert I was getting the same range as my pneumatics which is disappointing given the size difference now I am getting closer but still no where near the range of a normal solid wheel, the 10% increase that the manufacturer stated sounds about right. I rid them without inserts for a long time because delivery was pricey for me in the uk and i didn’t have the chance to buy them when I got the wheels initially so I have a good understanding of what’s different and what’s not. Spent a lot to get these over here but most of that is really supporting the company through its initial stages of getting to the market as while they are different it’s not something that completely blows your mind. There’s gives and takes, but in my opinion more takes on the v1 no idea about the v3 as I still have the v1 on whilst writing this and don’t feel I need to upgrade anytime soon.
My mechanical mind left the chat when I saw the steel pins in the insert 😅 Rotational mass is surely more important on a motorcycle but it's still a factor. First thing that did come to mind was replacing them with carbon rods. I'm not an engineer though.
I love the concept, glad that they moved to 72A urethane. But now they are the same weight as madwheels v1 (meepo cyclone 105, tynee soft wheels, boosted 105) before inserts. I think the main comparison should be with those wheels. Do they add enough comfort and efficiency to justify added complexity and price? Currently I'm running 5" (125mm) pneumatics on the front and madwheels on the back of my board. The back wheels seem to have more effect on the range, and less effect on the comfort (at least on a kicktail deck). So I think it would make sense to try inserts on the back only.
Too bad the pre order for these wheels doesn't include the insert suspension.im gonna stick to my mad wheels . Just by looking at The review they make it look like wheel and the inserts are one set,you should know you have to buy it separately. I'm always looking forward swans review.

Very original concept. Great video as always.
Thanks for the video 🙏 Without the insert I thought the comfort would be higher than clouds or mad wheels! But still an interesting wheel

Love the experimental idea though 👍

What’s wrong with hard plastic pegs? It’s hard and lighter than metal.
I can't say for certain but in my experience plastic doesn't hold up well to lateral pressure
