This is cool but for those technical out there: a lower gear ratio doesn't always mean it goes faster. See, Big gear spinning Little gear is actually fast: but it loosed power. So small gear spinning big gear (or making the drive gear smaller) will cause it to go slower, but stronger. Now; in this case making the gears smaller would actually make this cart faster (that is why he did it) because it give the cart enough power to use all the speed he gave it. So if he didn't do that mod it would be wasting speed.
Fax. When I test rode this thing with 36v, I could feel that it had a lot of power. I figured overvolting the motor would make it produce enough torque to cover the reduction in gear ratio. I think it worked pretty well, like the cart didn't whine or take a long time to accelerate or anything.

Did you have to get a new chain for the smaller gear?
Good explanation I was kinda confused at why a smaller gear ratio would make it faster but it was pretty simple
Essentially you want your top speed matched with the RPMs of the motor
