using sweets on jig heads or american style bass type rigs for perch/pike/chub, i really want to try it myself. my local corner shop sells little tiny fish sweets and jelly snails and jelly worms, surely these would work. iv kind of tried it but i only got bites not hook-ups although im not an experienced lure fisherman, well not experienced angler at all haha
I tried carp fishing yesterday with kidney beans, 29p a can in a certain German supermarket. I had the rod twitching constantly, it was obviously smaller fish trying to eat them. I cut them in half and caught a 3lb bream but then changed baits as I was after carp. I'm going river fishing on Sunday and I'll be trying raisins and smaller kidney beans for the silver fish.
That big mess of Roach looks like a good mess of cut bait to use this winter when fresh bait is hard to find!!! Nice to see that it isn't always about the biggest ones, even though the Commons were quite impressive!
i love these videos, just kit that everyone has got and an old deck chair, none of this ultra modern junk that costs thousands of pounds, love it proper fishing showing the kids its about putting the time in and not the kit!!!!!!!!
just made my day!! replying to my comment wait till i tell my son. just watching your jelly baby a sweets video, think my girlfriend thinks im going mad cause i keep laughing. keep up the great work ;-)
A video idea could be using sea tactics , rigs and bait for catching carp and then use carp rigs , bait and tactics to catch sea fish. a Ray on a pop up😂
Them spicey smoked sausages would probably work and will keep too. You might like to try honey ( cheapest ) in your ground bait. Make your favourite dry mix or just porridge oats it doesn't matter and moisten it with 50 50 water and honey.
love these videos, no idea how anyone could hit the dislike button 10 Jealous idiots, so much time and effort go into these brilliant detailed videos! Can't wait to try some of these wacky baits when i get my gear!
No a raisin is a dried grape as you most likely know already, a sultana is also a dried grape however it has to be seedless and white rather then a red grape which are what raisins are "made" from
A very interesting (if wacky) bait to use, looks like you both had great fun. I do have a question though. Do you use them straight from the bag or re-hydrate them with a bit of water first?
AFTER A DECENT CARP REEL MIKE ?? A best kept secret is to go into SPORTS DIRECT , they keep a fishing area and have a good 5000 carp reel with back wind and bait runner for £15, but you didnt hear it from me guys. :) Great videos keep them coming :)
Cheap reels are a false economy if you fish regularly, they're not built to last and prone to failing under load. Would you want to lose the fish of a lifetime because you skimped where you should have spent? I'm not a tackle tart by any means, I love cheap rods and other bits and pieces but having broken cheap reel after cheap reel it becomes very apparent that you'd have been better off saving up for a mid range Shimano (£30-50) and saving yourself the headache
I cant vouch for Shimano but clearly you've not been to Sports Direct and got the reel im recommending. Ive had many a big fish, i use the same rod everywhere i go because it fits into my gun bag, with the Sports Direct "Dunlop" brand reel and its still going strong. I disagree totally that you need to spend a (£30-50) for a quality carp/all course fish reel. The reel marked as a 5000 carp reel i vouch for is totally worth every penny, the times ive had to play that extra fish because of its strength or size, and the reel allows me to do so and then some, i'm sorry but unless you've tried it, you not of its true value.
I've had my hands on a great deal of sports direct/dragon carp hardware over the years and have experienced the highs and lows of their gear, some of it is great but the budget reels always contain cheap internals because you just can't get quality parts within that price bracket. You're looking at powder metal gearing, a chrome plated mild steel worm gear, cheap bearings, brass fittings and some grease, works fine for a while but soon the grease gets warm and gets forced away from the contact surfaces, the powder metal rubs the plating off the worm gear and it becomes sloppy. The sloppyness and exposed steel soon knocks teeth off of the powder metal gear and it begins to slip leading to total failure, believe me I've seen it time and time again and when they do fail you can't get parts because they're made under licence by half a dozen different factories in China which only sell by the 1000. At the price its built to last 1-2 years at best, if you plan on needing it for 3+ years then it's cheaper to buy the £30-50 reel which will last for 10 years+ with a fairly bulletproof warranty if it does somehow fail.
I'm 15 I love fishing I've been watching this channel since 2015 If u could comment on the best 3 fisheries that you've been too my best catch was a 19 pound mirror carp
TAFishing The only reason why I said it was because some people associate thumbnail arrows with click baiting and they might try and accuse you of it. No disrespect man, I love your videos.
Sorry Graham. Tried this today, nothing! Yes they eat them. But not off the hook! Love your posts but didn't work for me. Even after rolling in g.bait.
Something fun - any ideas for other wacky baits??
Grapes. lol.
TAFishing haribos
TAFishing I used a fly so that would be good😂
how about a tea bag?

Poor Mike, he must hate editing these vids when you start to catch fish after he has went home. Keep catching fish and letting us come along. Cheers.

Excuse me ?? That's not an "Old Deckchair"...its only twenty years old ...plenty of life left in it yet.
just made my day!! replying to my comment wait till i tell my son. just watching your jelly baby a sweets video, think my girlfriend thinks im going mad cause i keep laughing. keep up the great work ;-)
TAFishing what's the oldest item in your Arsenal of fishing gear? Lol
HIMSELF!

Fantastic, I really must try the sultana method.
What a wonderful day congrats.... might try sultanas on the broads for silvers.... might it work?
It just gets better 👍 Graham Broughton
so glad I found your channel and so glad I watched to the end! raisins it is next time out!
I tried raisins didn't have much luck and went back to corn, landed beam and large roach and a carp, but I'll give it another go, great video.

thanks guys!! I may have to give that a try and find out if it works here as well!!
Nice 1 :) I've been using them for the last 2 years. they're great :)
I love this channel 😁
So what is a sultana? Is it the same thing we call raisins here in the US?
No a raisin is a dried grape as you most likely know already, a sultana is also a dried grape however it has to be seedless and white rather then a red grape which are what raisins are "made" from
Thanks, never knew that. I think we call them golden raisins.
Ah, I never knew that. Okay, that would make a difference.
Great video guys as usual. Where can I buy those tafs hoodies?
Tried catching carp on a bit of chopped swede last year. No success but will attempt it again this season. Needs to be slightly cooked first...
You chopped up a Swede ?? I bet he wasn't too happy. Hope you anaesthetized him first !!
Well I had to use Swede as Norwegians were out of season...
What about Halibut pellet on bait band for sea black bream?? Always thought of it but never tried.
I have done a lot of drop shotting but using artificial maggots. Really fun on the light tackle and you can catch anything.
Costa Sunglasses! Need to get me some!

Either way.Soaking them makes them swell up a bit.
One of my two favourite baits, the other being brazil nuts, give them a try.
Would this work for wild river trout
surface fishing on popcorn and space raider crisp pickle onion flavored please be really awesome !!
Ever thought about trying black pudding as a bait?
Strawberries ... !
06:59 lmao
