TAFishing I would like you to know that you've helped me become a much better angler. I am still terrible at fishing but you've helped me at least catch some fish. Please keep producing videos. Thank you.
I used to go carp fishing for days and stopped four years ago as I got sick if lugging all my gear about .you have made and proved in your videos me want to go fishing again with one Avon rod and a rucksack and net and a bag of prawns simplicity at its best
I just cant get enough of watching your videos I learnt all my fishing tactics from u guys and so nice to see father and son fishing together amazing:)
Had some great fishing with king prawn about 10 years ago for chub, perch and the odd pike. Another great chub bait was half sections of lamprey intended for the pike. love the totally awesome fishing show and wish you all the best.
I used the Mugga hooks with prawns last winter. I was angling for Perch with a running ledger set up, but caught nice carp. The Mugga gives really good hook holds I've found. The small patterns can be used for floater fishing if you band two dog biscuits on the back of the curve. You need two biscuits as the wire is quite heavy gauge.
Another nice episode, my missus was watching over my shoulder she reckons you're the Bruce Forsyth of the fishing world lol. Your Wye film with the drone....... wow totally awesome footage.
Regarding your famous last cast question. Been learning to fly fish over the past couple of months and I have yet to blank on a session thankfully. I have had 2-3 really tough sessions - You know the type I'm talking about..... You are fishing with someone who is ten feet away using the same fly and same retrieve as you and they have a cracking session and you have no luck after 5000 casts or keep bumping fish off. Just have a couple more casts while my dad is packing up then get a slamming take and get a nice 2-3 pound rainbow.....that's happened a few times now....it's difficult to say if it's more satisfying having a session where I pull out 6 fish or feel more accomplishment when I have been plugging away all day with nothing then have that famous last cast a land a fish ;) I grew up watching john Wilson and I am really pleased I found your show on RUclips you guys really are totally awesome
Been using prawns for about 3 years now and won't use anything else! Always have a great day when using them! And i also get a bag or 2 of sweetcorn to throw in, couple of corns every couple of casts = FISH FISH FISH! :D
They're the gardener mugga hooks and are used for kd rigs where you do the knotless knot normally but do 2 wraps move the hair out the way and do 6 more with the hair out the way.
Thanks for again a g8 video, i like also the editing with the backgroud. I use shrimps for sea fishing and i find it much better then worms (at least from my side of the world) glad to see that is also almost true in sweat water.
Not sure if anyone already said it but the curved hooks are designed to flip over when the carp tries to spit it out, I use them on blow back rigs, the curve means you don't need to use heat shrink/silicone tubing around the hook eye. The fish just hook themselves, no need to strike.
I have been uesing prawn for years and caching perch roach IDE carp pike and tench size 8 and size 10 hooks and it's £4 a pack out of Iceland £350 out of morrisons lol
You prove the point very well Graham, you do not need all of the fancy gear & expensive baits to catch good fish ! Well done indeed. Oh yes, you can get brown shrimps in Waitrose as well as crayfish tails but these are, what I class as expensive, I think they are just short of £4 for a small packet. Keep up the good work.
lately iv been catching a TONNE of crayfish i wonder if instead of cruching them with the boot heel and wasting/feeding them to the surviving crays that i could cook their tails/claws and use them as bait, they are pretty prawn like?
Prawns are king. They seem pull out the better fish, I guess due to their size. They have many advantages as a bait, they smell / taste natural to the fish (similar to fresh water shrimp and small crayfish) They work excellent on the river for trout and chub. The best way to fish a prawn on a river is to trot it as you would maggots but with the addition of a micro swivel as the prawn will twist when retrieving. This method is deadly for trout, grayling and chub, a far better bait then maggots in a river with a little pace. Also there is no need to lose feed them on the river just trust in the smell / taste, the fish will home in. Out of a £4 bag of prawns I get 8 two hour sessions.
Hey bud, you got anymore fly fishing videos lined up? Defo my fave vids as you guys helped me get started fly fishing a few months ago Keep up the good work
I'd like to nominate the mighty minnow! I think I've caught more fish on live minnows than any other. About once a year these real little fish run in our rivers and they are so thick you can dip a net in and get a bunch of them. They are hard to keep alive but good bait because that is what all the fish are eating. And the dead big ones are great for catfish.
You should try fresh squid and mussel as well. Has worked for me in the past. If you think they make squid and mussel boilies why not just use the bait fresh instead.
Would you be able to salt the prawns to stop them breaking up so easily? I've tried to use prawns a few times and they always break up and fall off the hook.
I use bait elastic as suggested because mine always break up and fall off otherwise. I also use small pieces of prawn on smaller hooks for Perch which tend to stay on a bit better because I can side hook them.
you can get them worms without digging mate! my grandad tought me to go out at night with headlight and catch them! they are coming out but you need to sneak up slowly and catch them quickly! need a bit of practice not to pull them off but when you got it you got it is easy and you can get proper size ones and it's free! ;)
washing up liquid works for me but only cover a small area you dont mind digging mix it with water cover the soil heavily and if the soil is soft they just come too the surface and lots of them
Alway nice to see Graham doing what he does best, but how he lands fish ill never know. I've never seen anyone so cachanded with a rod, it's all over the place?
NEVER !!!! It leaves more smell on the next bait I hook, and of course my sandwiches have that little extra "something" !!! You can't beat a good bit of bacteria.(With Mayo,of course)
I went fishing today for the first time in my life and I catch one large trout...I tried lures for the first hour but they didn't work then I used prawns and guess what within half an hour i got one.
I've tried on the grass carpet here in Texas they won't take it they don't eat meat they eat grass and bugs plus hear there used as filter fish the best that works for me has been bread and I've been using bread to catch catfish maybe it's your luck and not mine

35lbs on one 88cent loaf slice of bread beats all the bullpen I see you going through but I take a few tips from here and there I'm better then I was waisting slot of money I'm Morse sufficient less bull corn
I just love this guy LOL 😅😅😅😅 Great sense of humour and a brilliant fisherman
The John Willson of youtube for me ! love the fact you are showing you dont have to use fancy rigs to catch nice fish , keep em comming .
+Stuart Unsworth you really dont need fancy rigs, just use what you have and fun man :)
TAFishing I would like you to know that you've helped me become a much better angler. I am still terrible at fishing but you've helped me at least catch some fish. Please keep producing videos. Thank you.
couldn't have put it better myself! these two and domukfishing.

Love Graemes old trust Avon Rods!
Awesome videos guys, now officially seen every video since you had 100 followers :D
Here in Australia we buy Squid, Prawns and Herring for bait in almost any fishing shop. The sort of stuff you could put in a fish chowder. Just FYI.
Is it cheap? Prawns are really expensive over here.
£2.50 for a big bag in tesco or the king prawns are only £3.00 id advise tesco if u cant find them cheap elsewhere
“ I was on the telephone ☎️ “
Love it 😊🤣☎️🇬🇧👍🏻✅

I have had black bream on prawns at the mouth of the arun at Littlehampton. Small hooks works a treat
Thanks that seems like a very nice fishing spot! Great video as always.
Those "Mugga" hooks look exactly like the ones used for tying shrimp imitation flies.
you crack me up Graeme !

Hi the mugga hook is a carp hook for self hooking rigs.
Here in Ukraine is also very popular carp. Come to visit us on a fishing trip. Thanks for the video, sorry no subtitles.
Graeme, you remind me of my old man. keep up the good work mate
Prawns are a very popular bait for carp!
Nice vid, I really like watching your videos so keep up the good work!
And will there be a drop shot diareas cooming soon?
lately iv been catching a TONNE of crayfish i wonder if instead of cruching them with the boot heel and wasting/feeding them to the surviving crays that i could cook their tails/claws and use them as bait, they are pretty prawn like?
My "last cast" on a fly rod. Lasted over 2 hours... Yea. I know the feeling :P
I know what you mean about the last cast... mine normally lasts about 2 hours !!!
Mugga hooks used for popups or bottom baits

Do you ever keep your fish to eat? Or only sport fishing? I enjoy your sense of humor. Cannot wait to try prawns here on my creek!
Sport always, catch and release treat with respect
Linda Poore Pretty much everything gets returned. If I want to eat fish I will keep the occasional Plaice, but I'm not a great fish eater.
You should try fresh squid and mussel as well. Has worked for me in the past. If you think they make squid and mussel boilies why not just use the bait fresh instead.
Those 'mugga' hooks look suspiciously like a 2x short, 2x heavy, curved shank, straight eye nymph/egg fly hook. Probably cheaper than buying 'carp' hooks.
Hey how come theres no videos of you going fishing for catfish? I think that would be a great addition for your channel
for big catfish prawns will outfish worms always, with smaller catfish they rarely touch shrimp and go for worms almost all the time
have u done a video in Wales if not would u do one in Wales.
Would you be able to salt the prawns to stop them breaking up so easily? I've tried to use prawns a few times and they always break up and fall off the hook.
You need a large gape hook plus you can use some bait elastic to bind them on the hook shank if you wanted to.
I use bait elastic as suggested because mine always break up and fall off otherwise. I also use small pieces of prawn on smaller hooks for Perch which tend to stay on a bit better because I can side hook them.
I use King prawns they are much tougher, break them into halves or thirds depending on your hook size.
Is that royal Berkshire in near or in a place called Windsor by any chance?
Harry Theobald Yes,I believe so.
you can get them worms without digging mate! my grandad tought me to go out at night with headlight and catch them! they are coming out but you need to sneak up slowly and catch them quickly! need a bit of practice not to pull them off but when you got it you got it is easy and you can get proper size ones and it's free! ;)

👍😎toatally awesome good fishin
I feel like worms are going to win ... 0_0. I usually use worms for fishing.I wanna see which is better though :D
groundbait and bread banned! what will they think of next lol
Alway nice to see Graham doing what he does best, but how he lands fish ill never know. I've never seen anyone so cachanded with a rod, it's all over the place?
Kool 👍
Think you need a bigger landing net!
I'm out in the morning, prawns it is then
I found it tricky because the prawns would break up easy
What kind of fish haven't you caught MR G.
Worms are the best
Finally fishing american rigs lol speaking of which if u get a chance u should take a fishing trip to america
There called " river prawns " the brown smaller ones
why dont you remove the bugs or lice on the fish when you catch them?
does this guy ever was his hands ?
NEVER !!!! It leaves more smell on the next bait I hook, and of course my sandwiches have that little extra "something" !!! You can't beat a good bit of bacteria.(With Mayo,of course)
Can worms be used at salt Water?
I have caught on them, generally lobworms.
Try apples
I went fishing today for the first time in my life and I catch one large trout...I tried lures for the first hour but they didn't work then I used prawns and guess what within half an hour i got one.
I do know one thing though you can not catch a carp on a pron
If you mean prawn* you're talking out your arse I've caught plenty of carp on prawn
I've tried on the grass carpet here in Texas they won't take it they don't eat meat they eat grass and bugs plus hear there used as filter fish the best that works for me has been bread and I've been using bread to catch catfish maybe it's your luck and not mine
I'm on face book I stop using shrimp to catch catfish and carpet I use bread its cheaper less messy and is versitle and I get mullets to on bread so 3in one can't beat that
I stop using shrimp it surprised me all the bait you through in the water just for 1carp what a waist one slice for one fish at a time
35lbs on one 88cent loaf slice of bread beats all the bullpen I see you going through but I take a few tips from here and there I'm better then I was waisting slot of money I'm Morse sufficient less bull corn
Gd video but the shore fishing is better get back to the sea
