@@v1spotter originated and ended from my home base airport of PHL. I can't remember the planes that took us back and forth from SFO and ORD. Some sort of narrow body Airbus or Boeing.
@@v1spotter And it was actually fantastic service back then. Free drinks in economy all you wanted. Lots of meals, a choice between Asian and American. The attendants were fantastic. It was a very pleasant trip even though I was crammed in coach for 23 hours 😂
Beautiful.. I worked a crash in 1993 IAD to CMH. Signed the baggage slip. Had the NTSB knocking on my door at 2am. Interesting time that most will never experience. Once sat on a runway expecting plane to crash (gear wouldn’t retract). Foam everywhere… plane (J31) landed safely. The above crash was a J41. Tail number 304… rip 🪦
I also love the visual of the little regionals in front of the big United plane on the taxiway. I would suspect that the front regional is a CRJ due to the engines being aft (maybe a 700-900?), but I could be wrong. The even smaller one behind it might be a smaller regional (it appears smaller than even a CRJ-200) or private/contract commuter? It's not clear enough to count the number of windows on the big United plane at the back of the line, but B737/A320 would be my guess.
Yeah it’s always cool to see the line up of planes awaiting departure. The first is a CRJ-700 (as you mentioned), the second is a challenger 605/605 (I think), and the third is a 777-200
@@v1spotter wow, I was way off on the size of the last plane! I can usually spot CRJ's by the aft engines (which makes them nice and quiet unless you're in the way back). Apparently my plane identification game could use some work for the big birds!
Nice video. I was this year with LH's -8 in SFO. Interesting, that it seems as engine 3 and 4 rotate in different direction. Seems they are not on the same RPM to have this visual effect.
I was initially curious about this as well. Some GEnx engine spinner cones don’t have the spiral on them for whatever reason, maybe weight savings? I saw the same thing with a few of the Dreamliners as well - however I believe most GEnx equipped aircraft have the spiral painted on the engine spinner now a days. The ones in this video are also tan as opposed to black, I assume due to the fact that the paint has worn off a bit.
This seems like a difference in vernacular. In the US, generally anything after 5 PM is "evening." "Afternoon" is noon to 5 PM. It's not about the daylight but the clock time.
