Yes this really is an underground nuclear bunker built during the cold War!

I'd say you're going viral soon as this popped up for no reason in my feeds. Interesting video. I enjoyed the tour and it's nice to see it's well-insulated down there from the elements after all these years. At 5k I'm coming back to see what you see or hear while trying to sleep down there haha 😄 😅 🙌

My dad was part of the Royal Observer Corps during the height of the Cold War.
He took me down into his station outside the village that I'm from when I was 6yrs old. Sadly it's been filled in now.

Cool! We have one on Helsby hill that used to be open but I never went down in case I got trapped 😂. That is pretty much trashed now I think. There are a few vids here on RUclips of it.

Yh I was bit worried but there's a latch to stop it closing completely. I was more worried so one would shut me in there 😬

You're a brave one! I'd be afraid of anyone occupying the place on the lamb! The last thing I want to do is get in a fistfight in an old bunker with a ghoul or something!

They still come up for sale every now and then. Think I'd rather something above ground for a hermit life 😂

These were decommissioned in the early 90s, at the same time as the Royal Observer Corps was disbanded, after the Cold War.
Aye I know, some were decommissioned before that too 😉
ROC post, not a neuclear bunker per se, it's a lookout post, as that one 99.9% have been raided and the parts sold or the place destroyed totally. It was never designed to be sealed, just an early warning lookout post. The ones local to me are either stripped or destroyed which is a real shame.

They are amazing aren’t they. This is in good condition. I have a ROC bunker about a mile from my house which I discovered whilst leading a group of ramblers. Not sure if I’d get a good nights sleep in one for fear of the iron door slamming shut trapping me in.
That's my fear too. I would definitely arrange with a friend just in case but can't see me getting 5k likes thank god 😂

No Kat please don’t do it down there it’s dirty filthy hovel . Stick to tents on the surface. Those places could be dangerous on your own. If I was you stick to wild camping in tents or hammocks or tarps. Best of luck otherwise.
