Just got back from the range with my P17 and not a single hiccup. Fired CCI 40 grain Mini Mags, as recommended by the manual. When I first got the gun I was getting some FtE's and ended up finding that the thread protector had rolled off the end of the barrel a bit, making the slide loose. I tightened it back up and everything started working like clockwork. Hate to say send it in, but it's been a great little pistol and I'd hate to see you discount it because it needs to be tweaked.
Send it back get it fixed. Have a nice holiday.
