Seems like no one mentioned Urashima yet? Alrighty. Urashima comes from the story of Urashima Tarou: He found a small turtle who was being attacked by young ruffians, and saved the turtle from them. He released the turtle into the sea, as most people would. The next day, a giant turtle comes to him and tells him that the God of the Sea wanted to thank him- the small turtle he had saved the day prior was his daughter, Princess Otohime. The turtle gives Tarou gills to swim in the deep and visit the Dragon Palace. He visits the Dragon Palace and stays 3 days, but eventually becomes homesick and asks to leave. The princess is sad to see him go, but gives him a mysterious box, that he is told to never open. After returning to the seashore, Tarou realizes that everything has changed- his home is no longer there, and his parents are nowhere to be seen. He discovers that he had been underwater for 300 years. Absentmindedly, he opens the box that the princess had given him, and instantly turns into dust. In the box, he found his old age, and died (as no one can live for 300 years.)
Cry, if you do find all the beads you gain invicibility, 10x damage and infinite ink. So you don't have to but if you do.......you'll be...kinda.....a badass.
Even if he does do it, he won't get the 100th bead until he beats the game (it's a Cleared Game reward). In other words, yeah, he'll be invincible, but only on the New Game +. If he's not planning on playing the game again, there's no point.

I could spend all day with this.
About the flame power, the bigger you do the infinity sign, the more ink you waste. I think a small sign takes three ink pots, while a big one takes six. It's basically useful for lighting up things, and melting ice if there's no fire near you. Also you might want at least 10 fish food. You really only need one, but take 10 anyway.
I loved this game. It was so artful and different; while it was easy in some parts, its uniqueness really made it worthwhile. So glad you're playing through this =D
Those kids at 18:00 are clearly just the North Ryoshima Coast branch of the Baby Tunnel Snakes. They're not content with just Sei-an; they're gonna take over all of Nippon!

On the original japanese ps2 okami site you can see a video where Waka plays his flute every season for the Statue of Amaterasu before Ammy is awakened. Idk how many years he has done that before Ammy's awakening but I assume since Shiranui's death.
When you get to one of the Divine Springs on the islands, throw the maximum amount of money in it three times for an upgrade to either Power Slash or Cherry Bomb. You can find multiple Divine Springs all over Nippon.
cry helpful tips...make sure to bring lots of fish to catcall tower, and for those stone enemies try using cherry bomb, also when you get orca make sure to check every island out in the sea, there is a lot of cool stuff out there for you to dig up (bring lots of cash trust me)
I just want to see him climb the tower. It's all I'm looking forward to right now. Also, its worth going to all the little islands in the sea. Look for holes in the ground...
Cry, you should head back to Sei-an and talk with the girl that was drawing on the ground, south of Mr. Flowers place. She will be drawing something new and will give you a side-quest.
Umi should really be careful where he holds those knifes, having the blade rubbing his neck like that isn't particularly a good habit when down in the dumps D: also...Doninut.
0:16 Cry I think the trees are not bloomed because of you while you were chasing the snatcher. It was bloomed, but after you used your paintbrush technique on the snatcher, the trees were hit by it.
I know it's too late now, but instead of making a curlicue to push yourself with wind from the side, you can make a spiral to go forward or back. Curlicuing from outside to in blows the wind away from the camera. Doing it from inside to out blows it toward the camera.
Holy shit. It took me watching this to finally realize that Umi and the waitress there are cat people. I didn't even notice that in any of my past three playthroughs. WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO SEE THAT.
If I remember correctly, there should be scrolls for every demon you encounter and it gives little tips on how to defeat them. Might help get demon fangs out of them. I don't know. I'm no Okami expert.
That Urashima guy made me think of Enoshima and I had to stop for a second to do the little dance. Also look Urashima is a fisher, too, what a coincidence.
The singing girls are adorable, right? :3 And they don't even have a real voice! Waka loves foreshadowing, eh? But I love it too - unlike certain other Exposition Fairies Issun has a past. I hope Cry will meet a particular archer before he meets Orca ;-) And ... BATMAN ISLAND!

Cry, you will need to meet with Orca and he can take you wherever you need to go. It's a lot quicker and Orca can outswim the water dragon too.
