- Inflation has remained the same but I was shocked when I saw the increase in petrol prices, I wonder if that will feed through to prices. And now the U.K. has gone into recession according to the headlines today. I shall be continuing to live my frugal life and getting out in nature to destress.
Here are my amazing fresh fruit and vegetables deals from Sainsbury’s and the easy cheap meal I made. A mini food haul from Lidl.

The stir fry- I’d cook it all too,but I might have (if I had) spare pastry ,wrap it in some pastry or a wrap if any in and lightly fry,like a vegetable spring roll or ear cold as a noodle salad and put a drizzle of sweet chilli sauce and maybe mayo to make a chest bang bang sauce xx

Unbelievable deals on all that lovely fresh fruit and veg! I sometimes find markdowns of 50% on things like that, but never down to the US equivalent of 10p! 😯 What a blessing!

you are right, i read on the BBC about food coming down in price, i went to asda and their own brand of cheese crackers had gone from 65p to 89p, its all a con

Unbelievable lunch.😋 Fruit is very expensive here, except apples are affordable. Would love to see food prices drop but today I heard we should expect an over 30% increase on most products. We'll just have to lower our expectations. Personally, I'm perfectly happy with an egg or tuna sandwich, or a bowl of cereal for dinner.😄. Have a blessed weekend, my friend.🤗🌻

Only able to use local convenience stores which have no reductions. Basic prices still rising.No flour locally but a friend got me some from the town supermarket which was half the price I usually pay. So glad you can find bargains it must make such a difference.

I’m not seeing any food price reductions here in Derbyshire and I never find any price reductions in my local Sainsbury’s! Petrol has increased by 5p in this area. Recession 😂 we’ve never been out of a recession for the last 15 years at least, what on earth are the government lying about now.
Yes I saw petrol higher at another petrol station
The occasional reduction here in Salford but for every price that comes down, three go up. You are so clever at shopping. It’s all the fruit I love, and the veg too - that plate of grapes and orange would be perfect for me!

❤ excellent job Jill. The price of the carrots blew my mind!! No way would I pay that asking price. I reckon inflation has gone down because everyone is waiting for the 10 p specials 😅😅. I am not sure if you are allergic to nuts/seeds. I always add sesame seeds to my vegetable stir fry as they are a super food, packed with protein, calcium, magnesium which helps lower blood pressure, and antioxidants which help prevent cancer 👍👍 yummy too! 😊😊Belinda

Hi Jill, I'm pleased to report for once I got some decent knock downs in the South East. Sainsbury had knocked down all their Valentine meals and I got some real bargains.🎉 Sadly still nowhere near your prices though😢.

Our prices went down for a few weeks ( for example , a dozen eggs had been 99 cents ... now they're back up to $1.69 a dozen ) . Gasoline had been $2.89 a gallon , now up to $3.49 in one week and continuing to rise as the industry switches to the summer blend ! Luckily , no shortages in anything but tempers as our political campaigns ramp up for a very important election in November ... people are getting very upset about the status quo here ! Your bargains are fantastic !

Just a tip- you can prep, blanch and freeze lots of veg.

True, we just started doing this after purchasing a freezer. Our regular kitchen refrigerator has a very small freezer compartment so it wasn't feasible before.
Here in the USA,if you get a reduction on one thing,then 10 more are outrageous in price.😢
