You can only get maximum 50+ wood per day. Trees in your farm don't regenerate. If you want to spend most of your time going around town to gather those 50+ wood each day for 500gold/day, you absolutely can. This video is just alternative if you don't want to do that. You will need 900-1000 wood just for house, barn and coop. You need more for your processing machines, which would get you more income in the long run as mentioned in the vid. But as I said, feel free to play the game in whatever way you'd like as long as you enjoy it!
You can chop down fruit trees and get 20 wood each from them. I'm not saying anything in your video is wrong, but if you think of fruit trees as a wood crop instead of just a fruit crop, they can help a lot for those wood needs. Even as a cash crop it makes sense to grow them, since 200 coins per plant in 15 days is better profit than any other seed. Plus, they don't die when seasons change, so it makes sense to buy fruit tree seeds whenever someone sells them (Jacob Ryle usually has some) and plant them whenever and wherever you find convenient.
That's a good tip! I think that's a very good back up for wood supply for the house upgrades and such. But if it's for money, I'd rather not chop down my trees and use its fruits instead for artisan products. If you can buy and plant a lot of fruit trees then chopping down some is a viable source of money, I'm just too impatient to wait for 15 days. 😆

All non-tree crops are poor moneymakers when thought of as each individual plant. They may be good for quests and recipes, and necessary for xp, but all I'm saying is to shift people's minds to include thinking of trees as a potential "crop". Yes, fruit is useful. But it will be the second spring before a fruit tree begins to produce enough fruit to be relevant. I'll keep some around for that, but I don't like to wait a whole year to harvest all my profits. Getting some in just 15 days is speedy!
