I'm sold. I was already sold by the forward facing wrist articulation (seriously, how is that not getting more attention?!?)
I thought this would be the case from what I have seen in other reviews. My thought was it isn't broken, it's just that the reviewers are not taking into account the head moving inside the mask, and you have confirmed this. Thank you. Still waiting for my pre-order to ship from Star Action Figures here in the UK but now I will definitely know what the helmet is really like.
So many other reviews not pushing the mask in and bitching it doesn’t work. Thanks for proving them wrong.
Ive never been annoyed by Vader’s breathing sound effects… until now
Looks great to me. I think some reviewers may have had a warped mask, which wouldn't help. Like you said some hot water should fix it.
I still think he should have black lenses in his mask, but that's an easy fix.
I may have said before but Anakin's skin looks a wee bit too healthy on this figure. I remember him being pasty as Hell when his helmet was removed. Not a major issue. The head sculpt is a belter.👍
Hey good on you for really playing with it. I feel that is a vital part of reviewing a figure. I may pick this up if I can find it for a good price.
A little patience and common sense and you've shown that the helmet/head works just fine. Everyone else in their haste to be "first" jump to conclusions. Thanks for the competent review!!

Well... looks like it's a lot simplier than expected. And if there's any gap after you placing the helmet properly, I don't see them. It does look appropriate. I will still keep one carded until I can find a second unit to open because I wanna "match it" with the TVC release. I still see other small little mistakes outside of paint app which you did fix, specifically the way the neck piece ends but that would be the nitpickiest thing.
Nice of you to add the breathing sound during that video.
Awesome review. I love the added touch you did where Vader’s breathing became labored when you removed the helmet and mask and then returned back to normal when you placed the mask and helmet back on.
The OWK is gonna be the definitive Vader for me. I pre-ordered TBS and the S.H. Figuarts version.

Great video! Thanks for this! My OCD still says it should have the Hebrew writing on the chest box, and my shaky hands mean I can't really fix it. That said, It's still an excellent figure and worth picking up for the unmasked head and helmet!

I agree with this being the best Vader figure too. Its incredible that they pulled off a removable helmet that still looks so good. My main complaint is the right hand pops off way too easily when moving it. I appreciate the interchangeable hand feature but wish there was some way to tighten it.

I’m having a hell of a time keeping the helmet on his head and even if I’m able to keep it on his head it looks crooked
Bought this on the strength of this review. It is in many ways an impressive figure and I don’t entirely regret it. However, the mask and helmet for me are a major problem and simply do not fit right. I’ve followed the suggestions here and just cannot get the mask to stay put in the grooves for long; then the helmet inevitably works loose as the mask gradually pops out. I am not moving it around - I want it in one pose for display, but I cannot get it beyond having to leave the helmet and mask balancing on it. Probably going to cut and glue it…
Hey bud, have you tried heating up the face plate, it could be that it might be alittle warped try alittle heat, water, hair dryer and while it's soft try getting in the groves etc
I have been playing with my one now for ages and I am now confident that I have cracked it. I can get Vader's helmet on now to the point I can hold it upside down and shake it. It is only when I get violent with it the top comes off even then the first piece stays on. I am delighted with it now.
Landspeeder Luke should have watched this before he put it in his top 10 worst figures. I think it’s great and even before I watched this I found if you push the head forward the mask fits fine

It's a good figure, but the helmet doesn't stay on. I should've gone with the Death Star II version after all.
Should I buy this now at 45 bucks? Is the demand high and are they getting increasingly scarce? Is it limited edition? Do you guys think the price will go up or down? Help please 😅
Turn up the Breathing SFX louder , I almost heard the Dialogue
I have the option of getting the updated ROTJ Vader from SH Figuarts vs. this, and I'd say SH Figuarts gets the faces right almost 100% of the time.
Unfortunately the newer S.H. F Anakin head looks pretty dire compared to the original S.H. F Anakin that came with the RotJ Luke. It even looks worse than this Black Series one in my opinion. That said, the rest of the figure is fantastic and still the best 1/12 Darth Vader figure around, even if it's missing the Hebrew writing on the chest box. It just gets everything else so right!
prb for some collectors (uh hem me lol) is always the $ price of those S.H.F. figures.. surely they're better at most everything
