@@CoolPup98none of the modern games (2016 and Eternal) but the games before Doom 3 (2004) had many Metallica inspired tracks, one of them being the very first one in Doom. Not to mention that all tracks are inspired by different bands including Slayer, Alice in Chains, and many others.
Mick Gordon did something only VERY few people ever get to do. He literally invented a new style of Metal, Argent Metal. It's sound is so distinctive that anyone who has ever heard it can instantly recognize it.
To authentically play the entire track, Mick used an 8 string tuned to E A E A D G B E, but this is still good since 8 strings are still quite uncommon
@@stevebanning902 I own 2 eight strings and a 9 string. Beginners looking to play their favorite metal/video game riffs are almost certainly not going to have one, and I'm not deluded enough to think that just because the modern metal scene features them more that it means that it's common for most people to have them. There's a very good reason I said "uncommon" and not "rare." You've got a head, Use it.

All the way from Killer Instinct to Doom Eternal, that man has yet to fail to impress me. Absolutely changed the way I looked at music and guitars as a whole.
Saw an interview with Mick Gordon where he says Rip and Tear was originally rejected and only used in the game as "filler" until they had a better option.
It’s not that low, lots of modern metal bands tune down the guitar an entire octave or even more. Listen to the album Nothing by Meshuggah. It’s from 2002 and it was one of the first ones to ever tune that low, and the track Spasm is tuned to drop A# but an octave lower.
@@MrBaverbo To be honest I exaggerated a little to try to be funny but that's still pretty far out of the norm when it comes to tuning. I almost never see Drop A when I'm learning a new song. I've been playing for 20+ years

The one Doom riff that Lars won't try to sue them for
Did Dave write this one? 💀
None of the doom riffs sound anything like Metallica
@@CoolPup98a lot of the og doom game songs do alongside other bands

An actual genre of metal being named after something from Doom is amazing lmao I need to check this genre out

@@Hidden-g9e6mwhat is confusing?😂 if you dont know order of strings and frets then you should learn how to use guitar

That's wild
He also did an awesome job on Killer Instinct. And nobody talks about that.
REUPLOAD WITH THE FULL PLAYTHRU AT THE BEGGING THIS IS SO COOL AND I WANT MORE PEOPLE TO SEE IT
I love u. U give tab that doesn't need 2 additional strings
I remember putting the PS One disc in my CD player and hearing some sick tracks.
I think this is fantastic....
This was played on a 8th string but only used the 7th string so it’s basically a 7 string drop a
Let's go
i believe this song is actually on an eight string in either drop d1 or e1 standard
Jeezus H. Drop A!!?
Man, that was my reaction lol. DROP A?!

THE ONLY THING THEY FEAR IS YOU NEXT PLZ🙏

can you do this i love by guns and roses pls 🖤🖤

Would it be killer on a seven string?
for sure
Whenever i play this my guitar is whining. Am i missing something? Fazley FSG418BK and a katana mini
Fret wrap
Yo bro whats the tuning to play it?
Drop A
@ thanks bro 🤘
Drop A… ffs these guitarists haha
That’s not a guitar anymore, that’s a Baritone
Wait until you hear Drop C1
That sounds more like Quake 2 than Doom
As a bassist I don't have to tune shit hahaha😈
The reason this isn't that accurate is because Rip And Tear is made out of chainsaws not guitars.
Bfg division is the best doom track change my mind
BUT WHAT ABOUT ANDREW HULSHULT?????????????
Yea Mick was influential until they decided to stab him in the back

Right ? He said it so casually lmao
I’d rather get flung into traffic then retune a gutiar
Gotdon didn't play guitar for doom
I thought he did a really shitty job
If you have to explain every movement you're better off not teaching this riff, otherwise this is showoff dude.
