Down to the final play battling over 1 yard to determine a win from a tie into overtime. Classic Army/Navy game. Huge respect for both side and all they do for our country!

As a Navy veteran I’m a little disappointed with the final score but hats off to Army for the goal line stand. What a great atmosphere and even better game. 🇺🇸👏
Wow, this is one of those games that truly make lives up to the saying that football is a game of inches. Great comeback by Navy at the end to keep it interesting
I look forward to this game every year. I am a life long Navy fan and I love the young men and women who serve in all the branches BUT, there were no highlights in today's game it was pretty sad.
Navy gave this game away. But what a great game!!!!!! I've been watching this game for 50 years, this one best ones I ever seen. Great players, who made great plays all day!!!! Hats off 2 both teams!!!
Exciting game although the refs had a nightmare out there. Still baffled how even after review, they concluded the punt (not shown in highlights) didn’t hit the Navy returner’s foot, because it was pretty clear to see.
That was huge, and I can only hope that the young Midshipman really didn't know that the ball had hit him. That being said, how the game ended for Navy at the goal line almost seemed appropriate. And I feel as though while Navy really did compete until the very end, Army defense wasn't really playing at all in those last few minutes, management seemingly interested in only getting the ball back to run down the clock. Again, not a bad game, but I still came away thinking that Army should have more easily won with a score resembling something on the order of 24-10, or some such, given dropped passes and your aforementioned punt gaffe. But I seem to recall thinking that way for the Black Knights in most of the recent Army-Navy games; just a series of errors and/or penalties that they themselves could have prevented that would have otherwise kept them firmly in the driver's seat.
I love the Army-Navy game. Best rivalry ever. Always close and hard fought, often coming down to the final seconds. I don't really like the kind of games where teams take turns going up and down the field scoring at will. These games are all about running the ball and defense in which every first down is important. And of course, all the players on both teams are heros and easy to root for. The only thing I don't like about the game is the uniforms. Personally, I wish they'd stick to their traditional looks. But that being said, this is one game I never miss.
@@JoeCab Well said! Immediately i can think of the Colorado St.- Colorado & Duke-Notre Dame where coaches stopped playing the D that got them a lead, and played soft, and lost. Your ex., though, is the best. Auburn D-line just stood there and let qb find somebody open

One of the most exciting games in college f-ball history. Navy's 3rd down play-- pass to the one yard line-- should've been included before showing the goal line stand with 3 sec. left. Most of the drama is missed in the highlights if you don't understand the clock running out and Navy scrambling to the line for that desperate sneak.
I'll never understand how these highlights are decided on. Not just for CBS, but for the NFL and other college networks, as well. For example, Navy was driving with just under 8 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, and their QB was sacked. They went over the replay of the sack, and then all of a sudden there is 2 seconds left in the half and Army is kicking a FG to end the 1st half. You're telling me NOTHING happened in this game for the last 7 1/2 minutes of the 2nd quarter? Then there was around 7 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and Army is driving with a couple of really good runs. The commentator was stating how the runner was that close to being gone for a TD, and then...Navy has the ball with under 2 minutes in the 3rd. And then Navy is kicking a FG with 12:45 left in the 4th. And last but not least, with about 2:50 left in the game, Navy drove the field and scored a TD to bring it to 17-9. But the very next play there is 1:17 left in the game and Navy is driving again. Anyone watch this game and can verify if this was how it was played? Or is CBS just not good at summarizing these games?
Great game! Good job Army! Those turnovers Army forced were spectacular! Have standards changed though? Some of those Army dudes are huge! Hope they get them trimmed up before putting them in the real force, they may be fit but image also plays a huge role in respect and maintaining discipline, especially in a line unit.
From a German (so I really dont know) and purely out of curiosity - How do both get decent linemen on the field? Cant imagine - well, 'huge' service members.
The military places limits on size so you won't see the massive lineman like in other major college football programs. One of the reasons Army/Navy/Air Force run the ball to the outside so much and utilize plays like" the option" is because the smaller, more quicker linemen are able to get down field and block versus just stand there for pass protection. They are also required to pass physical tests such as running 1.5 miles in about 12 minutes which many 330 pound linemen would have a hard time doing.
