As a retired U.S Army veteran, football player and coach, one of the best Army vs Navy games I've seen. I absolutely loved the Army uniforms. Especially the helmets. I was a member of the 1st Armored Division, 2nd Brigade, Charlie Co, 4th Battalion 70th Armor during Desert Storm. We were the tank battalion that destroyed an entire Iraqi Republican Guards division in less than two hours during the battle named "Madina Ridge". Go Army!
They should called the armed forces bowl game. What would be cold blooded.the field was camouflage and blue and white or red white and blue with all names on the field of fallen warriors written on the turf. Ijs
I had a platoon leader who played at West Point. I remember him telling us that we could not imagine the pressure cooker that game was. Half the Generals and Admirals in the military were there, you were playing for the entire Army. He told us that after they finally won the game in his fourth year, the stadium was a madhouse, West Point was nuts, and on Monday morning at his first class his instructor looked at him and said. "Good job on Saturday. That no longer matters. Today matters." He said that was the most important lesson he took from his time as a USMA football player. Never brood on defeats, and never rest on the laurels of victory. Focus on the next challenge. I looked him up. Retired as a Major General
the military is run by a DRAG QUEEN and the players refuse to stand for the anthem. This is what happens when you let psychos and convicted felons into the military because they can run with a piece of leather.
Now this is a great......acknowledging both teams but you are happy the team you like won. I miss rooting for a team. I was always a big UNC Tarheel and Dallas Cowboy fan growing up......but all the stupid politics ruined pro football, etc.....and college is more exciting to watch....
@jaknap1 they're ball control offenses. They don't recruit the kind of talent passing/receiving wise to lean on that stuff. It's usually only out of desperation or surprise they do mix in the rare pass, like in the first OT when they caught army off guard
@@jaknap1they have to stay in height and weight standards for the military so they are unable to get those 300lbs OL to have a solid pass protection. So they run the wing T offense. It’s old school but if the military doesn’t change the standards these teams won’t ever be able to compete for any actual CFP

as a european i am not in to american football. usually too much business and not sport. that is cool. you feel it has history and is about more than a players paycheck. enjoyed watching this without understanding the rules. both sides showed great spirit. thats what makes sport so amazing.

I don't mind the hard hits or the penalties. This a shining moment for all of them. When they're finished they'll go on to do great things. They may have been college football players today, but forever they'll be military officers.
This was an awesome game. I usually root for Army because my siblings have been in the service, but I felt bad for anyone losing this one. I was glad it went to overtime as it was the first in this rivalry.

Kneeling is what you do when someone is injured, when you pray, etc. it is a physical showing of respect in every way standing is. It does not mean "I wont support or respect this country" it means "I respect this country but want to bring attention to/cannot support its unjust aspects". for the love of god stop saying that kneeling for the anthem is Un-American, its --almost-- more American than standing

Watched Army as a kid in Yankee Stadium in the 60s. Served 4 years infantry/cavalry then 23 years navy surface warfare. I root for a close game and bet the "under" !!!!!

An excellent game. Both teams get my salute. I never have a favorite in this game and typically cheer for the team that lost the year before. But this year, the Navy's NASA helmet decal and shoulder patch swayed me. Go NASA!

I'm a lifelong Michigan fan. I look forward to the Michigan Ohio State game every year. But Army vs. Navy is the greatest college football rivalry.
