I know that from watching the video. Besides she is from East Africa and Ethiopia is in East Africa. And being from there I would know. And if you read WBrizzle's comment you would realize what I am referring to... pfft.
***** Yes, but she is Kenyan. Her parents are Kenyan and she has Kenyan nationality. And @Casandra Fullwood , Ethiopia and Kenya are both in East Africa, so Rodas Bee is not incorrect to state that "East Africans" are some of the most beautiful people, in her opinion. Because Lupita is Kenyan, (which is in East Africa).
The most beautiful women in the world are from... where they are from. Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Greece, India, Pakistan, Israel, New York, Florida, ... I mean, too much beauty in the world to put one on top. There is just so much beauty! Lets relish in it. Women are beautiful! =) We win! hahaha ( I think men are pretty beautiful too ;)
Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with the interviewer and why he has such an attitude when interviewing these actors and actresses. He definitely has a chip on his shoulder.
Every time I see an interview or photo of Lupita, I'm astounded at just how beautiful and graceful she is. I would kill to have such lovely skin as her.
My goodness, Lupita is so beautiful. Her beauty is authentic and I hope she's never pressured to sell out and succumb to the fictitious standards of Hollyweird's beauty.
People seem surprised by her talent because she's African, being African myself I've seen many African soaps and movies, I was impressed by her performance but not surprised. Africa has very good actors, and when they play their roles its actually hard to see the script, it all appears natural and real. I'm a movie junkie who loves and respect western cinema, but the best acting I've ever seen is by an African Henry Cele, famous for his chilling performance as Shaka Zulu in SABC's Shaka Zulu.
Woooooooh, I'm blown away by how intelligent she is, I don't mean "as an actor" but "as a person"! It's really hard to hear someone speak with such a deep understanding of what they're talking about, weighing every single word. Really, I'm hugely impressed...
Love her English accent,it's interesting that most roles that were reserved for African American actors/actresses are going to Black Actors/Actresses of British decent. She was very articulate in her acceptance speech.
Dynel Dillard She is Kenyan. You can say "Black African". Not a black of British descent. Actually, she has never lived in Britain. That is how most Urban Kenyans speak
Okay dude, I stand corrected she speaks the "Kings" English due to her being a citizen of Kenya which was at one time a colony of the British Empire and gained it's Independence in 1960.
Okay damn dude I'm off by 3 years shit,it's also a shame most Africans who were exploited by British colonialism have not clue about the African American experience either,it goes both ways. I'm familiar with Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel Arap Moi,the MAU MAU uprising and such for the fight for Independence. And the Pan African movement Kwame Nkrumah,Patrice Lumumba etc.... Give me some credit.
Look at that flawless skin! Touch this skin, darling, touch this skin honey, touch all of this skin! Okay? You just can't take it! Who has skin like that? oh Lupita does!
I was so wrapped up in the the brutality of 12 Years that I didn't even notice how beautiful she is. A real work of art. And, a great interview as always. No other reviewer I've seen has such natural, genuine conversations with industry people. You do a great job of cutting through the bs. Great channel.
She is gourgeous. I thought that after 12 Years A Slave and an Oscar she would have a thousand new movies...but I saw her IMDB there's only 2 coming!! Come on Hollywood give Lupita an opportunity to keep showing how good she is. And is really nice to see girls like her (like me) on TV.
Lupita you are so beautiful at heart, when you speak your eyes glitter and each word you utter proves that you know life very well and you are well prepared to face it. I must congratulate your parents for imbibing such good qualities and making you such a wonderful human being.
Lupita, thank you for bringing Patsy to life again. She won my heart and her story becomes a catalyst for social justice! You are an amazing actress. I'm rooting for you in the Oscars!
12 years a slave made me wanna burn something down. Seriously. Her performance was SO convincing and disturbing, that i felt like i was right there. Hopefully she'll go far as an actress and will make a real name for herself. Hollywood would be full of shit not to use her.
I love the way she has represented africans so well in this brief video strong yet highly mannered, talented and full of raw beauty. I'm Kenyan myself and i attend the high school she used to attend and she has given me enough motivation to work as hard as she did. Im super proud of this stunning queen, and so is Kenya. She is the definition of a celebrity, a form of inspiration. I love you Lupita x
I was about to comment the same thing..did he seriously say 'people of colour',..wowwww not only was her seriously unprepared for the interview (hmm, wonder if he would have prepped for a brad pitt interview by reading wikipedia and imbd..just a thought), but he was ignorant.. my goodness, painful interviewer but Ms. Nyong'o held her self well- what an intelligent, beautiful woman!
She is GORGEOUS!! She's gonna be a huge star. Just wait. Her performance in 12 Years a Slave was so heartbreaking. I don't know where Steve McQueen found her but Lupita is bound for great things.
This woman is so stunning!!! Wow! And yes obviously on the outside but then she speaks with such grace and intelligence...congrats to her on all her success! :)
I'm discombobulated by the interview.......prof. Anyang Nyong'o is a proud father. The same way she was inspired by another actor (Whoopi) may she also inspire many Kenyans for harness their gifts and talents.
Beautiful interview. Being intelligent, well-spoken and beautiful is a culmination of who she is, and in this case it she just happens to be black, and from Kenya. I don't see why people are taking offense at the compliments made about her... unless someone had expressed surprise about a black person having such qualities. I think she rises above a lot of what we get from Hollywood, be it from white/black/brown/yellow artists.
Wow! What an intelligent woman. I can.t wait to see the movie. This lady is someone to watch. Just through the interview you can see her brilliance. I wish her well.
Too beautiful! There's nothing to say, this is the real beauty!! I can see her face all day long even though for Japanese like me can hardly understand what she's talking about.
Shes absolutely gorgeous. Her skin, her smile, those eyes...so lovely. Beautiful lady and fantastic actor. Not to mention very intelligent woman and so eloquently spoken. ❤
This is definitely one of the best interviews I've seen. Not to mention Lupita is an extremely beautiful and intelligent young woman, she is very passionate when she talks about her work and her experience of making this film. I see that she made a measured decision to become an actress. I wish her good luck with all my heart. I hope there are more great roles for her to come.
it hurts my brain how smart and lovely she is. I also love her very slight Kenyean accent. And to think that in those days white masters would have no problem wiping such a lovely creature. Truly one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I hope it wins all kinds of oscars.
This is the second Oscar the movie for sure deserves. This and best cinematography Nyong'o´s deliveres a great performance, and the strongest perfomance in the entire movie.
It's so refreshing to hear an actor talk about their "craft" without sounding pretentious.
This is one beautiful black woman. I love her skin tone. East Africa produces some of the most beautiful women on earth
Like Ethiopians ;)
Rodas Bee she's from Kenya not ethopia
I know that from watching the video. Besides she is from East Africa and Ethiopia is in East Africa. And being from there I would know. And if you read WBrizzle's comment you would realize what I am referring to... pfft.

She is drop dead gorgeous. Period.
Peace & Love
She's amazing, she's intelligent, an amazing actress, truthful, beautiful. I really hope she wins an Oscar for her role as Patsy.
she already did it :)
Yet another interview where she seems twice as intelligent as her interviewer. She's certainly more patient than I would be.
One of the best actresses I've seen in ages she is very beautiful and extremely talented!!
What a lady!
mmm
Wow
I am so proud and thankful for this moment in time. Lupito is EVERYTHING!
Just love Lupita! So talented, well-spoken & beautiful inside and out.
...and extremely humble!
Lupita is such an inspiration to me. Flawlessly beautiful as well!
My goodness, Lupita is so beautiful. Her beauty is authentic and I hope she's never pressured to sell out and succumb to the fictitious standards of Hollyweird's beauty.
Women like her represent the wonderfull skills and intelligence in black women. I hope she wins an oscar.
Oh Yes she will
she surely should
she won one today-best supporting actress
She's amazing!! A extremely talented and down to earth lady. Kudos!
Brain: 10 - Sensuality: 10 - Beauty: 10 - Hopefully Hollywood won't destroy her
I know, I'm really worried about that. I think she needs to make a film like once every 2 years to keep her sanity lol
She is an epitome of black African beauty...and she still has alot of potential to clinch more awards...We Kenyans are proud of you.
shes so beautiful!!!!
i am so proud of Lupita she makes me proud to be an African woman not just African but a luo girl wow i love our skin colour

Chansa I agree with you sir ,

Oscar Caudillo that lived in Kenya until she was 16
Congrats, Lupita!!!!!! You are amazing. The world is your oyster. This Oscar win is ONLY THE BEGINNING.. God bless you. Stay sweet and humble.
If you think her roles was amazing, than what it you think about the first woman that lost her children. Her acting was a thousand times better.
***** What film?
Oh my goodness! Lupita Nyong'o is SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! Such a beautiful woman :)
Her Beauty Is So Unreal! Like from another planet! That is what you call NATURAL BEAUTY.
Woooooooh, I'm blown away by how intelligent she is, I don't mean "as an actor" but "as a person"! It's really hard to hear someone speak with such a deep understanding of what they're talking about, weighing every single word. Really, I'm hugely impressed...
you very right!!!!
My goodness! That bone structure, those eyes, that smile...She is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! And a great actress too!!
She is gorgeous and so so beautiful her skin is flawless and what a glow her personality and intelligence all wrapped in one makes her priceless
No beef Dillard. Make that year 1963. Sometimes it saddens how Black Americans know more about Europe than Africa.
Look at that flawless skin! Touch this skin, darling, touch this skin honey, touch all of this skin! Okay? You just can't take it! Who has skin like that? oh Lupita does!
This is an incredible young woman. I am a historian and suddenly a film actually gets it right for a change!!
I was so wrapped up in the the brutality of 12 Years that I didn't even notice how beautiful she is. A real work of art. And, a great interview as always. No other reviewer I've seen has such natural, genuine conversations with industry people. You do a great job of cutting through the bs. Great channel.
Love her! She's very noble and talented!
She is absolutely amazing. Not only is she gorgeous, but she talks and acts like a real princess.
i could listen to her voice all day ..
She has a cute doll face.
