The MC6 pro is insanely good. It’s by far the best controller I’ve used. The web editor is so good, so easy to use. When/if I move away from a Quad Cortex, I’ll be getting another one for sure.
I appreciate this video. I was thinking about getting the MC6 Pro and use with my Stomp or just upgrading to the Helix LT. Not sure yet. I'll watch the video again to see if it makes sense to me.
Yeah, that's a decision you need to make based on how much DSP you want...the HELIX can do way more effects than the HX Stomp. But it's also bigger. There are more pros and cons to think through too
It’s so tiny, compared to the HX Stomp! Thank you for the killer demonstration. I’ve not yet used a controller with my Stomp, but I’m definitely going to get either this or the previous MC8, as they are incredibly cheap at the moment.
Great video! I just got mine yesterday. Seems pretty easy...the tough part is figuring out what you want to control! BTW, if you half a looper, like the RC-500 or Sheeran Plus, or RC505MKii, it would be great to see how you program and use that! Also, if you have a BeatBuddy, it would be great as well.
I'm primarily a bass player but am looking to build an electric guitar pedalboard. I found your channel because I'm looking to use an HX Stomp and Jet pedals. I also want to include this same Morningstar MC6 Pro. Would love to see how you put together a board with the HX Stomp, MC6 Pro, and Jet pedals (Lamb, Revelation).
this question!! ...Or Jet Pedals are in pre-order mode with a competitor too (called Unity 6)! Honestly theirs, while pricier, has loops built in if you have non-midi pedals, I just feel like I'm going to end up pulling the trigger on the Morningstar because I think the display will be easier to read on stage (maybe??), it seems so well-supported with you-tube videos, updates, app/software program ease. From my months-long research just seems like a lot of the products out there, there's not much concrete intel in the form of user feedback or tutorials (even from the manufacturers) compared to Morningstar unless you're stepping up into the $800-1,000+ market midi devices. There's also LuminiteFX with Graviton devices with touch screens that look super interesting but again, can't find anyone that's actually used them.
Great video! This looks like it's not too hard to set up! :) Have you already used it on the road, and since you seem to be the only RUclipsr with both; would you prefer this over the Piratemidi bridge 6? :)
That's hard to tell...I really love the Pirate Midi stuff and I've been using it longer. But I was able to do so much of what I'd want to do pulling the MC6 pro right out of the box. Probably can't go wrong either way. The MC6pro feels more expensive to the touch...something about it feels really nice...the switches are amazing. The Pirate Bridge is really good too with the editor being really user friendly in my experience. I like the way you click on the switch you want to work on visually.
I'd love to see how you'd hook up this with one of morning stars midi switching loopers so you can combine analogue pedals with HX Stomp for full midi control
Hi brother, thanks for this video! I was just recently acquiring an mc6 pro to be used with my hx stomp as well. But no where near your speed in programming this!! Would love you to have a follow up video on this though, diving down this few points if possible: 1. Using mc6 pro to control parameters on 1 block. For example, a hall reverb block and have mc6 to control the parameter using 1 footswitch, but have like more than 2 levels (saw this on Sam Wittek video about mc6 pro). I am not sure if this is doable on the hx stomp. 2. Is it possible to use the mc6 to control 8 footswitches in preset mode? Coz looks like it only allow fs1-fs5, but i rarely use snapshot mode. So it would be great if can control on off all 8 block using the combination of hxstomp footswitches and mc6 pro! Please do it for the bros 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 it is quite difficult to find good videos on creatively using mc6 pro with the hxstomp!
not sure if you got an answer to this yet or not. I don't think the MC6 does much without MIdi pedals. That said, you can buy the 10LX from Morningstar and use it as a midi switcher then this can control which loops are active etc. Very intuitive and can do so much. Smaller footprint than the big names switchers too
Quick question. I have an Line 6 EX1 pedal with only an input. Is there any way i can use this pedal not being connected to the Hx stomp via footswich 4/5 jack. If i had the expression pedal connect to the hx stomp (which is in the beginning of the chain), can i also use the expression pedal for swells with my revelation reverb ( after hx stomp in chain). BE BLESSED❤️🔥
?? I get some weird digital sound when switching snap shots on the stomp. Going up in values does not cause any weirdness but going back down in values clearly cause digital scramble sounds, kind of like turning the rate/ value knob on the delay while playing. Not sure if there is a setting I missed but I can't use snap shot mode due to this. Any advice? Thanks for all the good videos.
There are several ways you could do it....just flow from which ever is the "Master" down to the other pedals. In this case I'd go MC6 > HX Stomp > TONEX
@@HeyWorshipLeader Thanks man! Could I help get your opinion on this set up above? I would want to try and treat the MC6 as a snapshot. Is it totally doable or would there be delays if I went as far as having the MC6 call up presets on both HX Stomp and Tonex?
haha...I understand how you feel, but there were comments like this 4 years ago when I first got mine, and I couldn't watch enough to learn form other people...people are still getting these units brand new and wanting updated info
Setting mine up now ... thanks for the assist! In terms of what I'd like to see as you dig in to the MC6 Pro ....ditto to @lgovantes1 - would love to see what you do with the MC6 Pro & Boss RC600. If you're not an RC600 user ... skip this request ... it'll take you down an infinite rabbit hole! 🙂 Thanks again!

It was really intuitive for the first time for sure
Dang! I just got this a few days ago because you sparked my interest in midi. Happy to see this review!
awesome!
I have the mc6mkii and love it. So flexible and makes managing my pedalboard so easy.
Ive been waiting for you to be introduced to ME for so long! I’ve had the mc8 for about 3 years now.

MC6 or Bridge6, which do you prefer and why? I am looking at getting one or the other. Is there anything that one can do that the other can't?

How to setup other pedals to the MC6 Pro
Noted!
Hey man !
I was wondering if you could help me out with the routing of a new build I’m
About to build , I could use some good input .
Thx !
Great vid! Does it work with non midi pedals? If it those can you make a video on how to set up thanks!!

If I wanted to add a Tone X to this set up, do I need to do midi out from HX STOMP into TONEX into MC6 PRO?

The MIDI numbers make sense when you are a developer like me.
I bet!
so rad
Seeing that Stanley knife just sat there the whole time made me nervous for some reason 🤣 - helpful video though haha!!
Is there truly a video topic about the hx stomp that hasn’t been beaten to death already?

Bummer! My new MC6 Pro, shipped only with a USB cable. Guess I'll have to, now, learn what MIDI cables I need for my pedalboard. Sigh...
