I really appreciate how helpful your videos are. As a new HX Stomp user the additional foot switch has been such a great enhancement to my gigging board - I use one to turn and effect off an another to adjust the gain parameter in a gain to give myself another gain stage. Great stuff.
I have both the Pirate Midi Bridge 6 and the Morningtar MC6Pro. The Pirate Midi has a nice screen with big letters, and if you are making songs it's much easier to reorder/create setlists. The Morningstar is more stable and much more configurable, works better with external switches, and able to do a lot more, and the color screens are nice.
Really appreciate the video. I have been enjoying my HX Stomp XL and even got two of the same expression pedals for Christmas (that's what happens when two sides of the family buy off the same wishlist). Haven't pulled the trigger on your presets yet as I mostly play bass and chose to pick up the offerings from Ian Martin Allison, which are amazing. My play is to pick yours up when finances allow. With the upcoming tone video, I would love to see a little bit of coverage on achieving great bass tones as well. Love the videos but worried about how much I may end up spending over time with the great products you talk about. Dying to pick up the Atmosphere pedal already and now you've got me all interested in midi controllers after this video.
I understand the family gift buying situation...can be good. Yeah...I only have a few bass and acoustic presets in there as I mainly play EG. (but you're giving me an idea that I could make an Essentials Pack for Bass and Acoustic without EG stuff) ...maybe soon. Until then, a really good bass preset I recommend a lot is this one for only $8: www.adamtruitt.com/store/p/wrshp-bass-preset-hx-stomp-download
@@HeyWorshipLeader I really appreciate the recommendation. Of course, I own way too many instruments so your whole Essentials Pack is likely beneficial but my primary instruments are Acoustic Guitar and Electric Bass. That actually adds another element that I would love to see you cover on good tone for acoustic guitar and acoustic bass. I'm here for all your content no matter the focus. Really glad I found your channel after buying my HX Stomp!
Hi Great Video. I'm New to HX Stomp. Just got it 2 days ago. I follow one of your other video on how to update the firmware. (Thanks Again) Just wondering if you or anyone ran into the issue when I upgraded to 3.60 I don't see the Agua Sledge. Also I don't see a full list of bass amps. Any direction will be helpful. Thanks for sharing. Let the binge watching begin!!!
Glad this was helpful...usually when you don't see the new stuff it means the HX Edit hasn't been updated. If all else fails, just delete HX edit from your computer and redownload it. Should be good to go then
For great tone (or, better tone) - use the noise gate on the input; Raise the input impedance; place pedals after the amp. Challenges: gain staging - how to control gain throughout the chain. Also - is it better to use stereo effects or to split the signal chain?. Thanks, Jimmy. Appreciate all that you do.
Thanks, already do some of these (Stomp XL; also have Floor)) but haven't tried MIDI yet. Biggest challenge has been with Stomp XL in different FOH systems is the very "ice-picky" high end on a Preset that sounds fine at home through my PowerCab. So far the best solution I've come across through reading and videos has been using the Hi-cut on the Cab or IR. Have you ever experienced this? How did you tame this? Enjoy the content - Thanks!
Yeah I have...I even made a longer video going into this topic in depth and doing some tests: ruclips.net/video/vkHFPkWgHaE/видео.htmlsi=GDCoh5IlP79Qc6FG
The reason you can only get 2 additional functions out of the Stomp with a TRS is because one of those parts is always going to be the ground. There's a TRRS jack but the only application I've ever seen them used for are headsets or earbuds with microphones. One part of the plug each for the 2 stereo channels, one for the mic and the last for grounding.
I sure wish when using Tap Tempo via the footswitch the HX Stomp (and XL) would briefly display the BPM like the bigger Helix does, as that is a huge oversight by Line 6 IMO. I have a Helix Floor and a Stomp XL.
Thanks for your videos! My struggle is with overdrive sounds. Basically, my clean sounds are always super clear and vivid. When I use the overdrive (for ex. 808 scream or minotaur), the saturation is good but sounds like the signal is less and the eq is weaker, probably you know what I mean. That's a mistery! I hope you can give some tips about it.
hmmm...I feel that sometimes...the Retro Reel has brought a lot of "realness" back to my tone recently...I show my settings in this video: ruclips.net/video/4gVq_dkJ1Fo/видео.html
I also need help for a really nice doublebass setup that makes my piezo-pickup sound like a doublebass miked up in a studio. Should be doable with IRs but it keeps getting too muddy when I try.
Please next time tell us about low/high cut 🙏🏾 how to make your tone cut through the mix better. My presets usually get lost in the mix when i’m playing with my band. 😞😭💔
I recently bought the HX Stomp, Tonex and soul press II, i tried to use the Ghostfire GP8 power supply, but the hx stomp sound comes and goes, which power supply should I buy? Thanks!
Is there a way, besides using snapshots, to temporarily change a block of a preset using MIDI, essentially “cheating” and getting an extra block. E.G. the first block of the preset is a Minotaur Distortion which I can turn on and off with MIDI, but I would like to switch that first block to a TS 808 with the press of a button. Thanks
Snapshots won’t do that for you either. Once a block is assigned, it can’t be changed out with any footswitch or snapshot. Midi will only act as another way to engage with the assigned block
Try programming a switch to take you to a specific preset (quick press) where you can access that particular sound...And back to where you were with a long press? I think you'd have to map the switch on your midi controller to emulate FS1-5 and then setup everything else through Command Center...anyway, might just work
You could place a TS808 block and a Minotaur block into the chain and use one switch to toggle them (off and on), and (on and off). You can control lot of things at the same time with one switch. But you cannot add and subtract blocks in the chain on the fly.
help: FX loop send to my Markbass amp (w/o amp and cab sim) and main out to FOH. Left and right in switchable on/off and merged after compression an IR blocks. (explanation: P-bass goes in left in, Double bass goes in right. Separate procession until they hit amp and cab. Does that make sense?
Great video, it would help me LOTS to know how to plug strymon pedals such as: mobius + timeline + bigsky on the hx stomp plus a tonex (for the real amp sounds it has on), that would make my gear sound the way I need 🥺!
I would be using the hx stomp for it's FX that the other pedals I mention can't do. So I would using strymon to model the base worship sounds and two tonex to model stereo amps and IRs (they are more accurate than the hx stomp amps or IRs)I think @@HeyWorshipLeader

I run a UAFX Lion and Strymon Dig in the fx loop of the HX Stomp and then use the Stomp solely for mod, drive, and reverb. Fantastic mini board.
that's a good set up

Rock on! Let me know if you have any specific questions!
Great tips for HX Stomp users to tap into the versatility of this small powerhouse of a Modeler. Thanks

Yeah that is how I set it exact but doesnt help when playing Live@@HeyWorshipLeader
Just got an XL this weekend!
Sweet!

Good choice!

When will the winners of the Little Robbie Pilot giveaway be announced? The King Sumo giveaway says winners haven’t been picked yet.
I totally forgot! But just announced here: ruclips.net/video/qTcIVCn2CpY/видео.html
Looking for the best EQ or tone setting to help cut through the mix for both rhythm and lead.
Awesome! Noted!
Question, for a newb, without a stomp, would you recommend the hx, or the xl?
Right now the XL is only $50 more so I would totally go XL!HX Stomp: sweetwater.sjv.io/WqKZPe
HX Stomp XL: sweetwater.sjv.io/0ZOgBN
Preston pedals has some really good midi offerings designed for the hx stomp too.
YES! I have some in here...going to be making a video soon!
Those jet midi pedals are worth their weight in gold, can't beat the real estate they take up either!
Agreed
Excellent work! Thanks.

cool! you're the best :) I suggest to create video with hybrid solution with Tone X pedal and analogic pedal , i use this solution and it works great
Cool, thanks!

I can't get the left footswitch to work on my external footswitch.

The best options are the Cioks DC7 and the TrueTone CS6,7,or12, and even have the MONO power supply and it's working great as well
Thanks 🙏
