Wow so much information. I inherited my dads collection and I remember so many get togethers where he would bring pieces of his collection and lay them out on his pool table and explain to company all about the pieces. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

My grandfather after he stormed the beaches at some point took a 1st model off a dead soldier. He never talked about his deployment much but he passed the dagger down to my father and then my father passed it down to me. It’s one of the few things I have that are priceless to me and it will be passed on to my children.

Your kids will probably either sell it or destroy it. If they don't, their kids will. World isn't the way it was when you were a kid.

I’ll listen to you sniffle for the rest of my life if I can retain 1% of your knowledge. Please keep doing what you’re doing for all of humanity. I think that you have the know of history to never repeat it, not many people have your understanding of history. Thanks for all you do!

Well after seeing this video i have to purchase a luftwaffe dagger like that, the swords are rare and more expensive, too much for my pocket books at the moment. I have been interested in purchasing one for a while but now i am more keen on finding one with an affordable price, nice pieces of history. Good video and one of the reasons i am captivated by this hobby, despite being in my twenties.

Greetings Mr. Wittmann, Outstanding! thank you for posting
these informative vlogs they are so important to the collecting community now
and in future. You have requested some suggestions concerning enhancements to
the vlogs, I have a few for your consideration.
    1) Have your reference books available on display table for use as you discuss subject item
2)The photos you show during discussion are very helpful, more of same
3).Average price for each item (ballpark) price vs. condition how this is determined
4).Provenance of subject items how they came to be in collections, what’s the story of item
    5) Please stop ‘sniffling” close to the microphone
Again thank you for posting these very informative vlogs, all the best. Jeffery Richards Collector

I think Luftwaffe daggers and swords are the most beautiful of all.

If ya could, we could see more about the Luftwaffe swords AND the DLV swords. We gotta see the cross-section on the blades.

I am not a collector of these beautiful daggers because I am from Germany and you would immediately be referred to as right-wing radical or NAZI even if you are only interested into these daggers or its creation. I am a knife maker, just like my ancestors and I just find these daggers very interesting in terms of their design and craftsmanship. These daggers used the best techniques that can be used on blades and knives - very interesting and beautiful work. Thank you for the great videos!

Out of all the WWII daggers, I like the luftwaffe daggers the best for some reason, also I prefer the first model over the 2nd Luftwaffe. But they are both amazing! I will never sell mine.

Excellent as always.. A good 1st Model Luftwaffe is getting more and more rare... Unless they are in exceptional condition I don't like 1st Models - they can look a bit tired.. Always pay more for a great one rather than saving 10-20%.. You'll get your money back at sale time..

  • @Purpmaster

You just can’t beat a nice first model. Always seemed like the officers should have stuck to the 1st and let the nco’ shave the 2nd’s. The 2nd’s just don’t carry the look of authority that the 1st models do. Thanks for the video Mr. Wittmann.

Another rhing worth mentioning is the swords were made in various lengths dependent on the leg length/height of the buyer.

Say you had 3 Eichorn pieces, is it exceptable to switch the pieces to create one exceptional Eichorn dagger?(like having 2 parts cars and using the best parts to put on a 3rd car?).
