Lovely video. A quick word about historical accuracy. My Father flew 37 missions as a copilot in B26s over German occupied territory in late 1944 and 1945. He stated he never say a German airplane in the air.
@@matthewbrook7683 For no loss, I'm sure.... 1944 was the highest production year for the German war machine. There were many THOUSANDS of German planes at the end of the war. Just not so many pilots - and no fuel. Learn some actual history. But you're probably english....not able to see the real truth.
Thank you, this might be one of my best paced videos yet. Other than a couple of rough cuts that i didn't want to reshoot and perfect, I very much like how these videos are turning out
The FPS counter is for the flight recording replay on a flat screen, but even then it's pretty good and stable for max graphics in 1440p. I get to control exactly how many assets and aircraft get loaded onto the map when i build the mission from scratch, so it helps the head tracking not stutter in the flight recording and gives as smooth of a VR replay as possible.
I thought the B-26 Martin Marauder was tougher than that. The Focke Wulf A-8 heavy fighter is shooting down the B-26s as if they were flammable and explosive, flimsy Japanese G3M Betty bombers. The B-26 possessed self-sealing tanks and some internal armor for the pilot and co-pilot. Instead the B-26s are blowing up from short bursts out of the FW-190A-8. A word of caution. Some A-8 heavy fighter interceptors were armed with two MK-108 30mm cannon. If this A-8 is so armed, then the easy downing of the five B-26 Marauders is justified.
It's the third person camera centered on the bomber, zoomed in to the lowest FOV. You can hold shift in this mode to change the camera orientation with the mouse instead of the position, so I just used it to follow the FW 190 coming up and hitting the bomber. The only problem is that he camera movement stutters badly when doing this. It's more noticable to me while recording, but it's harder to notice while watching it back.
great video man! may I ask, any settings or tricks to get the game looking like this!? I’ve got everything cranked up to the max , and still don’t look not even close to this.
In VR or with trackIR? It won't look this good through my headset, but that the depth perception makes up for it IMO. I like to turn the graphics up to nearly max when I'm running a mission with almost zero assets, for super smooth gameplay. I don't use MSAA either, just FXAA at 4x
What IL2 mods are you using . I played maybe 15 years ago, and SAS mods were the bomb then. Care to do a series of videos on modding the base game .? I'll be all over that, like ans subscribe.
Second video I have seen from this channel, and I have to wonder openly how shooting down a bunch of drones is noteworthy? This is basic NEWBY flightsim stuff.. I might as well film myself walking down the street. Amateur.
I forgot to hit record on the landing approach, but that burst I took at 04:14 blew off my tail gear. The landing did not go very well
That last run on the bombers was a bloody massacre
Beautiful transition between the pray and the hunter in 0:30
Thanks. Its one of my favorites

It would be amazing if we could actually do a large number of aircraft in the sky at once
From Feb 44 to June 44 the allies shot down 6500 German fighters. After that there were only a thousand or so left.

@@Wolfgang-Schnaufer I'm fairly certain that is what he meant. The luftwaffe was effectively gone by 1945.
The exterior views in this game are epic. 👍21
This video was a ton of fun to make. Those shots at 2:30 were unplanned but worked out so well
Nice work on this video. Love the ending flyby of Rotterdam and the music.
Glad you guys like it. It's getting faster and easier to script these externals each time
Great images. Lots of eye candy. Sure showed why it was called the butcher bird. Can't tell the scripted from unscripted, but it was ALL entertaining.

Great job editing this clip! Everything was crisp & clear.
Yeah, I get why you want replays in VTOL VR after seeing this...
So much easier to do storytelling when I can cut to external angles, and show the enemy doing things
In reality a bunch of gunners would have been firing back with a lot of .50 cal
Outstanding!
That's crazy fps for VR man

nice voiceover, is this VR, you sold me the game
yeah, I play in VR
Top 👍👍👍❤
Awesome!

Gunners in bombers just sleeping
I sometimes play Test Pilots in Vr chat, is there an option for motion controls? i rarely ever flew that good as i do with motion controls in TP
Not in Il-2, but there is in DCS and possibly war thunder. If you like motion controls flying, go play Vtol VR, it's amazing
190 skin?
I used a set of Jg. 26 skins for the FW.190 A8. I most likely got the skins from the Haluter Skin Downloader
How did you do the clip where it’s on the bomber but focused on the fw190 at 2:40

@@ThunderBatSims thanks for the information I will try it next time I’m on 👍
It‘s always the same with intercepting bombers in Il-2: There is an unrealistic low level of defensive fire coming from the bombers.

Yeah I'll do a quick video on how to mod it, it's pretty easy

This is a cartoon, why waste time watching these. Thought this was real footage..gameboys..
