This comment made me noticed, and 100% dedicated lol
It's called sorting not alphabetising. (tsk tsk)

Your profile says it all 😆
True true ok

I love the knowledge you pass on, the uk coins always surprise me with editions that I didn't know existed, and some that I remember seeing from the past in my change. I'm 55 and can remember the older 50p coins with the hands linking together, they were pretty common back in their day but I took them for granted as they passed in out out of my hands. You make me wish I'd collected them now.
The American 50 States quarters got me into coin collecting!
Cool
I have all of them, I love coin collecting!
One of the joys of working in the catering / bar trade, people try to scam the staff with, amongst others, the quarter Dollar.
Whilst cashing up, I would take out any foreign / collectable / 'out of place' coins ( dime / quarter Dollar / Polish Zloty / Yuan / even Jersey & Guernsey coins ) and replace them with a coin that 'should' be there ( 10p / 50p / etc ).
Same as me
@@eddie-g-6452 I worked as a cashier and did something similiar. In addition to starting my 2€ collection and sets of Euro coins from different countries I also(often intentionally) accepted and picked any foreign coins(mostly some eastern european coins and a couple of pounds/pennies) and kept them even if I was at small loss. I've done it for only a year before the pandemics stopped me, but I think I found a hobby for lifetime. I started thinking about traveling more after all of this is over in part because I want to bring some coins with me :D And if I ever visit UK, after seeing this video I'll be definitely paying cash when I can and checking the change. They have some nice and collectable coins there.
I'm from Indonesia and when I discovered all of the secrets in it's money from your video, I was amazed, but after watching this video, British coins are amazing, full of easter eggs.
The golden hyleosaurus can be found at 6:47
He just said something ramdom and then added the real timestap
6:47 he's picking which book to read! I honestly used to think that coin collecting was boring, but you've shown me that coins are really cool and have lots of cool secrets! Hope that you notice this, I've been watching your videos for a while now, I really like them, especially the cat ones.
Yeah. Same
6:47 is where you can find the Hylaeosaurus with some the story books, Chris has.

Story-time!
I once went shopping with some relatives for most of the day. I was paying for my stuff, and realised I had a swimmer collector coin!
So yeah, that was a lucky find
6:47 Half-asleep Chris is so entertaining you can't say no.
6:47 There he is on the right!
0:01 the top hat!
6:47 Also, I love your videos, and you have inspired me start collecting the American 50 states. I hope I can find them all!
You better don’t
6:47 is where the golden dinosaur is!
Your first
I asked my son who went in UK recently to bring me a coin: he discussed with his coleagues about this but all, including him, were using cards.
Coins become shortage of sourcing alas.
Good video as usual for a rookie to start a collection: eventually passions are the fuel of our lives 👍
I collect wheatstraw pennies in the US. I only collect from circulation so as the years pass I find fewer and fewer. I maybe find one or two a year now. It's a amazing feeling to come across a steel 44 that hasnt been taken out of circulation yet.
0:11 THERES THE GOLDEN DINO!!
Bruh
I think my favourite coin-related fact is that the two pound coin has 19 cogs in a circle on it. Given that if one cog rotates one way, one touching it will have to rotate the other way, any loop of an odd number of cogs would not rotate because two cogs next to each other would end up trying to rotate the same way and jam the system.
The strange thing is, the man who designed the coin designed it the right way, with 22 cogs, but then the Royal Mint removed three of them. I’m not sure why.
could be because the cogs are meant represent the industrial revolution/era which really took off in and defined the 19th century?
No, I meant the three being removed.
what is happening? Am I seriously actually considering start collecting COINS??!!
yea so it seems.... Well done Chris! :) Love your videos
I just started the coin collecting this year

i'm american and i never knew about the monuments quarters lol. i do know the designs get updated sometimes; i remember people were allowed to vote for one of a few options for a new oklahoma design (i believe around 2007, when the centennial was happening)
edit: correction - the designs don't get updated; what i was remembering was the minting of the last batch of the group
i saw the dino
6:47 there's the gold dinosaur (I couldn't be bothered to write the full thing) but I'm 4 weeks late
The gold Dino ca be seen wandering the vast desktop near the books, he tends to do this at around 6:46-6:47.

one of the only commemorative british coins I have during the short time Iived there is the 2005 dictionary 50p coin, one of the coolest I've seen.
as for the american state coins, I still hold them as my definite favorite series, and grew incredibly tired of the national park coins by 2015
wish I could go back to collect just a few more coins!
6:47 gold rhino
