Love the way you guys keep things so positive. It was a fun trip with you. Thanks for taking the boring aspect of trolling away so we can enjoy the fun parts only. It was good to see you at the boat show this past weekend. Steve - Sushi Maki

Great video! Learning how to catch fish. You're young so you have plenty of time to learn more. Maybe I can help a little. "Match the hatch",the colors that match the prey fish in the area is a good choice. Also, overcast or blue sunny skies will affect the colors choice. We use darker colors on overcast days for ono. You also need to know what time the fish are feeding and where the fish "dining room" is, depending on the current. Tight lines!

I'm always surprised at how often your catches get sharked. Is there anything you can do to avoid that or is it just part of the game in your locations?

curious how much real world affect weather has. i've always heard dark colors on dark days, bright on bright. i only fish on nice days, and have way more luck on pink/white. but don't fish remotely enough to use that as any kind of creedance to that idea.

It doesn't matter color. It matters how it swims. I've watched a white marlin in my spread go back and forth through every lure in my spread. He swam up both sides of every lure. Inspecting, looking, making sure it was good. He finally came around and ate but after we removed the baits all the ones it didn't eat had small imperfections. Even more so when I'm mahi fishing. They don't care color. They care presentation. I'll get quads that each one bit a different color. As far as wahoo same. Presentation and preparation. You should drag that boat up to NJ and really see how good you guys are. You Florida people are so spoiled. If you wanna get a pelagic off NJ you gotta run long distances. Usually no less then 30 miles but usually 60 to 90. One way. But we get WAY better fish. Bluefin to over 1000. Giant bigeye, big yellowfin, big longfin. I have found some solid wahoo on the midshore lumps. Smallest has been 37lbs biggest 72. Plus add our weather. Nothing like being 80 miles from home in 15 to 20ft seas. I'll wait on that video 😂

Dude..... I promise I have as much inshore experience as you do off shore. My best friend has won a ESPN red fish championship tournament and many others. I have never fished a tournament or OFF SHORE. But I have fished the back of the boat with my friend a 1,000 times over 20 years. I've seen every trick, spot, lure work and not work on every species. He always has 6 rods with different lures and often the same lure but a different color. He is switching over and over and over.... I used to do that too. Now, I'll will fish all day... same lure. I'll change if the tide really drops or rises for a different water depth lure but not for color.... I am 100% sure color does not matter. It is 100% presentation. A red fish is not coming out of 20' of water to hit a topwater... You have to put the bait in the fish's face and it has to be hungry. Sure, it can be smart enough to NOT hit it. But it doesn't care about color. When I buy lures.... I buy the closest lure that's the type I want.
I didn't even watch this clip. I went straight to the message board. I already know the fact about inshore. After I read your comment..... I knew two things.
      1) You KNOW what you're doing. You are a professional level of fisherman and so are your friends. Birds of a feather...
      2) Color doesn't matter off shore EITHER. Presentation is everything.
I'm so glad I found your post. Not because it will help me. I am never gonna off shore fish. I just like being right and you helped solidify what I'm already sure about.
      Thanks again.

Amanda the drone goddess - think about rigging two underwater cameras on removable down rods from either your middle hull rod holders or your transom rod holders to catch underwater footage as you boat your catches - maybe an overhead camera on a pole above your T-Top might be another way to catch interesting video ; P You ladies are my favs .

@@GaleForceTwins Just East of the Bahamas, there is a trench which is quite deep.. BTW, slow trolling isn't advised, it picks up too much different kinds of "Trash" fish.
You'll also find that the brighter the day, lures color change so use dark lures on overcast Days. Captain Keith. Have a nice Day.
