Thank you so much for this video. I been trying to learn this method of fishing and got frustrated by loosing lures because probably too 14:19 shallow or too much line out to the point I gave up. Still have the planners will use your instructional video and try again. We, my wife and I delight ourselves by watching you fishing with your sister and the fun you ladies have together. Hope eventually if you girls have kids will be just like you. Thanks a million again.
You can definitely lose lures if you get too shallow! We never go inside of 100! Separately, you could be losing lures because of too little line (not typically too much although both is possible). Make sure you have at least 100’ of 60# mono followed by 15’ of 60# fluoro leading up to the lure and after the bridle.

I'm curious about the planer digging into the braid sharing the same hole in the swivel. How long before the strength is compromised?

We put the planer on the Dacron side as opposed to the braid side which is stronger! We don’t run into any issues with it but of course check the gear before using it!

What length of rod are you guys using? Class? Do you think the swivel top on the rod is beneficial? Will it be part of the new planer rod?
I have watched a lot of bridle planer videos and have not come across a single one that says which hole of the swivel to put the cut snap swivel into. It makes sense to me not to have it on top of the mono and the braid to avoid the swivel fraying the lines. Is this correct? Thx. Great content as always !!

On your bridle how long is it? And does it matter when you switch your planer from smaller to larger if you wanted to make your bait dive a little deeper?
what Roller tips are you using or recommend?
what is the purpose of Bimini on the braid side? what not tie a uni knot direction to the swivel?
Strengthens the line! Especially when there are knots being tied. Knots weaken line so tying the uni helps balance that out.

We don’t have roller guides either and have no problems with the swivels passing through. Just make sure the rod is heavy duty enough to handle the pressure!
Should the bridle be shorter or longer than the planer set up in trip mode. In other words, when the planer is tripped should the tension be placed on the bridle or on the planer? It looks like from your previous video, the bridle is shorter than planer and when it trips “goes whack😊” the tension now is on the bridle. Just confirming. Thanks again!

Which is better for you gals kingfish or sailfish, I had sailfish smoke it was the best fish I have had, better than tuna I think , but then again it was smoke by a Master and they weren't the really big ones, he was actually kind of famous in South Florida way back 60's 70's & 80's by the few locals that new him, in Virginia Key his was just know by the name "Jim" actually way back to the TV program "Flipper" were it was film !!
