Law & Haleigh I have the first game on PlayStation 2 then somebody messed with the wires to make it into a rainbow and the ps2 broke and this all happened on the first day during gameplay with the first game and then replaced it with the Xbox 360 and the disc bugged out and can’t play it, but I still have it just can’t play it. Edit: first day of owning the ps2

My main pet peeve about the evolution of LEGO Batman is primarily within the storytelling aspect. My main concern is that the series is diverging further and further away from its roots as a game centered around Batman and his allies and enemies alike within Gotham City portrayed in a LEGO format. LEGO Batman 1 is where it all begun, was the most down-to-earth game out of the three and was easily relatable and enjoyable for me with its nighttime city environment. LEGO Batman 2 continued to build upon the story of its predecessor and featured many improved game mechanics but shifted the focus away from Batman and Gotham and included many characters from the DC universe from outside Gotham. While i have nothing against such a move, it really pains me how many iconic villains from the first game got shoved to the sideline and relegated to sidequests only. Only the first parts of the game take part in Gotham in the spirit of the first game while the entire second half of the game in focused around Batman and Superman with the Joker and Lex Luthor being the only major villains. LEGO Batman 3 essentially shifted the story completely away from Gotham and earth itself into outer space and added in several other characters from the greater expanded DC universe. Batman is now but one out of many hero characters and the only level in the game that bears any resemblance to the first game is the first level alone. The game is technologically speaking the best out of the three and the storytelling is good but the setting and the environment just doesn't really feel properly Batman-esque anymore compared to what originally was. I am a conservative person and while i can accept change (albeit slowly) i appreciate simplicity and find myself yearning for LEGO Batman to return to its roots as seen in the first game. With old familiar environments but with new stories. Plus, as an added cherry on top: LEGO Batman 1 actually allowed you to play it both ways, with the game featuring both a hero campaign and a villain campaign, allowing you to see the story from both perspectives. This feature hasn't been seen since then and that makes me look forward to seeing LEGO Supervillains, slated to launch in late 2018
