I agree on the lab grown! Lab is 100% the way to go these days! Especially if you want a larger stone without breaking the bank! I honestly don't think I'll ever fall for the natural mined diamond scam again!

Is there a difference between lab grown and Moissanite?
@@mmc9828 yes! Lab grown diamonds are chemically diamonds. Moisanite is a diff gemstone.

So pretty. Thank you for sharing.I just purchased a lab created oval too. My husband loves the round and tried to convince me but I didn't like it on my finger. I've had a natural half carat elongated heart for 28 years that wasn't very good quality so this oval is an upgrade.:) I am going to have the natural diamond made into a pendant because it's sentimental.
I love that idea!! The elongated heart would be so beautiful in a necklace, and it sounds like your new oval is amazing!
The lab concept seems much better than the natural one is a lot of blood involved. Nice ring blessings to your marriage

I had to redo my wedding band...thankfully found a jeweler to make it thicker in height but less in width. I regretted not going together to get wedding bands. I basically said I want a thick plain gold band since my engagement ring had pave band and hidden halo. Well the band just was uncomfortable being that thick so I requested it to match my my engagement ring measurements which was a 2.8mm band. I'm in love now...finally lol
I totally get it! Sometimes it takes living with the ring for a little while to realize what you like and what you don't like about it. But I'm so glad you found something you love!!

Are you concerned about the thinness of the band? I’m not the most careful person. I opted for a cigar band (pretty much the opposite look of what you’re going for, but I wanted something more androgynous). Your ring looks beautiful on you.
no way!! i love it there so much...everything they carry is so gorgeous! and i loooove the cigar band style, it's so modern and unique!
I don't worry too much about the thinness because i'm really careful with it and take it off if i'll be doing any lifting or moving or anything with my hands!

I'm leaning towards the oval. I would like a low profile halo with at least a 2.2mm band because the stone is larger and it would help it sit more upright on the finger without rolling around the finger. Thanks for sharing

Your ring and your other jewelry is so pretty. I got basil and they were able to design it the way I want it is but you don’t have to have it lower. They sent mine higher after I design the bandit match it. An oval definitely looks good on you.

I noticed how the younger set pick out their rings/stones and get involved in the whole process. Being of the midlife 45 and above crowd, i would say this is a no for me. I like the element of surprise,and i dont wanna know anything. I want it to be as spontaneous as it could possibly be without me meddling lol. I think the spontaneity of the whole thing is what would matter the most to me, i also know that i would love whatever ring i was proposed with. I feel like after dating someone for a good while, they would essentially have a feel for my taste, preferences, and the look i wanted to achieve with the ring. I can give him a few clues, but i wouldnt design it with him.
But like i said you younger kids like having a say in the whole process , so hey if youre happy and you like the involvement, go for it! Your ring is absolutely gorgeous. Good luck!

I think ideally we would all like to be surprised but with such an expensive purchase, you really want to get it right the first time. And unfortunately men rarely get it right.

So your stone is 10 × 6mm? I'm waiting on my oval solitaire now and I believe it's the same dimensions. They are calling mine an elongated but I'm hoping it the same size as yours! I've been worried the 0.6 or 6mm wide will be thin looking but I think I'm good! Lol Your ring is beautiful and so are you!

Looks like a pear cut from the side bc of 5 prongs…oval looks good with 6 prong and 4 prongs.
Pear cut 5 prongs. Round 6 prongs.
Marquise 4 prong with 2 V tips either pointed end of the stone.
Princess 4 prongs but V tip looks way better for Princess cuts.
Radiant 4 prong. Square radiant, asscher cuts 8 prongs or called double prongs.
Heart cut 5 prongs with 1 V tip and so on…

I believe it was around $1500 or so, and that was largely labor costs!
That's a radiant cut not a cushion and a bezel setting can sit high, like frank darling breezy bezel, you definitely can stack with it, most jewelers will tell you bezel is not good to save cost, to make a bezel ring/setting they need to use a lot more gold, solitaire and prongs setting they use much less...

Omg I wanted the same exact ring as you and the same thing happened to me!! Didn’t go shopping w my fiancé and ended up getting a cathedral, basket, and knife edge setting. It is from Tiffany’s and they are giving nooo other options for setting because of diamond safety which is kind of understandable but disappointing still 😢

so far so good! it definitely feels a bit thin, so I make sure to check it frequently for any looseness or bending!

Lab grown has no resale. It’s ok until y’all can afford the real thing.
that's actually a myth! most lab grown diamonds have similar resale value to natural, plus most mined diamonds bought in the last decade won't make much profit relative to inflation. my 2 cents is that I don't plan on reselling my engagement ring at any point - if anything I'd just reset the stone into a different ring or necklace 😃
