My engagement ring was 1.35 carat solitaire. For our one year anniversary and also to commemorate my Master’s graduation we are combining our funds to upgrade to a 2 - 2.5 carat… these videos are helping so much. I think with my size 6.5 finger I will stick to the lower end of 2 carat.
@@KAYTEEZIE totally get it. I went to shop around for 2 carats and indeed it was too big. Although I live the bling lol …. I am now changing my mind about a ring and thinking of heart shaped diamond, but not in a ring setting, rather a pendant
I got my fiancé a 2.50ct center diamond with a 3 stone setting ring for a total of 3ctw in a 18k yellow gold her finger size is a 9.50 and it looks fantastic
My daughter recently became engaged and her fiance' bought her ring from Blue Nile - Absolutely Gorgeous!!! She gets so many compliments all the time. I love Blue Nile!
Late to the party but just some food for thought: Better to get a better quality diamond that is smaller in carat. Because even though the stone might be larger, when compared to diamonds that are higher in color and clarity, that larger stone will have an unattractive yellowish hue and very visible inclusions (flaws). What good are "bragging rights" on a 2.5 carat if the stone looks, and is, lower grade. Plus, smaller carat stones that are higher in color and clarity are actually worth more than a larger stone with lower grade color/clarity. To sum it up - when it comes to diamonds, size is only one part of the ring's value. The stone's clarity, color, and cut always trumps carat weight. The reason some diamonds are crazy expensive is when they hit all the marks - high carat weight, color, clarity, in a cut that showcases all of those elements.
It’s absolutely insane how affordable lab grown has become since this video dropped. I got a 3 ct for 4k excellent cut, VS1, E grade. Make sure you shop around fellas I got mine at a mall. Ch jeweler for a 2 ct mined diamond was 70k…..
Have you brought from blue nile? I ask because on the website they block out the GIA report number for naturals diamonds so I can't verify if it is a true report
The do that so you can look it up and price match, they all sell the same stones, most don't have them in stock they have price checkers they tell you if your getting a good deal
@@usfanlovesminho5085idiot, lab grown diamonds that are 3ct D are 8-10k. The diamond is also exactly the same as a natural diamond. When I was shopping, a lot suggested the sweet spot was 2-4 ct. 6 is amazing and no doubt will be appreciated, but the size may look ridiculous on her finger. Also, 5+ ct diamonds start attracting other eyes that may stop you guys from showing off the ring in certain areas 😅

Both reputable graders. GIA are known to be more consistent with mined diamonds. However with lab grown IGI and GIA are just as good as each other, if anything IGI is considered better for lab grown.
@@lukemiller539 GIA is the most reputable in not just the US but internationally with AGS coming in a close second. IGI fluffs their grading, for Cut let's just say they're very loose with their "ideal" grade. You can research and find out more.
I researched moissanite before making a purchase because I fell into “ it looks the same” etc.. I received my ring and was devastated.. after having real diamonds the difference was VERY noticeable.. it looked so cheap and obviously fake I returned it..

this is the video that helped me choose a 1.5 carat diamond solitaire for my wife. God bless you guys!
I just ordered a 2.50 carat VS1 G ..I hope she likes it !
That’s a great ring just make sure to get a great cut
Great size comparison. I personally don't like diamonds too big, just my preference. I like 7/8th ct to 1 ct the most, more than enough bling for me.

Blue Nile is garbage
Extremely useful and well-produced, thanks!
I think the footage/video for the 2.5 carat didn’t make it onto the final edit. I’m loving your videos! Subscribed!
I think 1.75 is beautiful. Add a lovely band. Perfect for me.
Do you think 2.5 clarity M is a good choice?
Probably better to go up in clarity and down in size. 2.0 with vs2 clarity at minimum

Yep 100% got a VVS1, excellent cut, 1.8c for under 1K, Its a no brainer

I could swear I’ve seen you before on a flossing/brushing demo video and thought you were a dentist! Fancy seeing you here!
Just go with one carat and upgrade to a bigger rock for your 10 or 20 yr anniversary.
That might work for you, but some people can afford more on the first ring. Not everyone has the same finances.

To me when they get that big, it looks like costume jewelry especially if it's a lab grown because I know how low they cost. But to each their own.

If you're looking at .25 carat, go back downstairs and play World of Warcraft. I would by nothing less than 2.5.
