You don't really. You are just trying to get the door back to the original height. If you then find it is too high, which doesn't generally happen, you would need to repeat the process until it is right. The issue is that when you release the jack, the door is going to sag every so slightly so it can be hard to judge.
@@Yaddada408 If you compare the latch on the door to the catch on the frame from the passenger side to the driver side does it seem to be off a little?
Maybe. The door closes and latches ok? If so, you can use the jack to support the door but after you loosen the bolts you can then use the jack to lower it just a little.
This could possibly be the issue in my mustang but I’m not sure. Basically when I shut the driver side of the door, it will shut it closes and locks however the window doesn’t lock itself all the way up? Like it leaves about half an inch open which leaves the car thinking it’s still open. And before this, when I would close it normally and such the window would push itself up securing the window on its own. Not sure if it’s this or something else. Any ideas?
It very well could be. You said the car still thinks the door is open? Usually that sensor is on the door jamb frequently near the latch. Does the door seem to close smoothly or is it kind of jerky when you close it?
I just replaced an entire door and it does this. I did something similar but without the jack. I'm going to try this in an attempt to realign it. I'm assuming I should use the bolts on the door side and not the frame side?

- a bracket that is bolted to the door,
- a bracket that is bolted to the car
,
- a hinge pin that holds the above two brackets together
The hinge pin has worn the holes in the door bracket, causing the door to sag.
It's not clear that the solution proposed in the video would work properly in this case.
Did it work for you?
Could you please check to see if the car door you repaired was sagging due to worn hinge pin holes rather than loose bracket bolts?
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching.
great video thank you
Hi I am new to this channel
Hi Shah, thanks for joinging us.
My issue is mine doesn’t sag it’s sitting too low idk how
I am not sure I understand. A sagging door is one that sits too low.
And then there is my car, where you have to remove the door, just to get access to the hinge bolts
Well dang. What kind of car do you have?
What's the name of the Grease u have to use for that?
I recommend a lithium grease. It stands up to water and is designed for metal to metal contact.
@@ClintHolland wow thanks I did the same as u did in the video and it worked 😊😊 where can I get that lithium grease at?
@@betod3113 Any of the auto parts stores will carry them like Auto Zone or Advance Auto.
@@ClintHolland oh okay thanks 😊 what's that for the Grease thing?
