I did the same thing, but it was enough to pull on the inside door opening handle for the latch to unlock itself. If that works, then no need for the screwdriver. This video was very helpful regardless!

This is a life saver! I was out hiking and I pushed my latch in out of curiosity and couldn't get it unstuck

I stopped to buy something at the store on my way home and the door wouldn't close properly (but it could lock with the door open light on). It was about 700m to my house so I drove it home and it was just like how the video began: it wouldn't latch let alone lock. I've managed to fix it thanks to your video. 🙏🏼
