    Its been a few years, the links died. Can you post some part numbers so we can get them through GTR?

    Thanks for reccomending the red LED lights.... I have a 2005 350z and this will be way better lighting for me. ... Thanks Wendi Drew

    The 350Z actually experiences power loss when using LEDs. Something to with LEDs preventing proper operation of the engine computer. Do your chosen LEDs consider and overcome this issue.

    The links don’t work anymore and I was looking to purchase these.

    If the bulb faces up, why did you get an LED with a glass lens on top? It would make sense to get an LED that focuses more light around the sides instead of top..

    • @BlackTopRacingCars
      @BlackTopRacingCars  9 лет назад

      +syndromer That is true and a good point. We did try a Reflex bulb from GTR Lighting that only uses LEDs around the outside and not top, but we weren't happy with the light output for this brake light application. we wanted the most light possible and this bulb, even with the lens on top, was a better contender.

      +BlackTopRacing gotcha...I wont get the Reflex ones then. Thanks!

    Hi you mention that these fit nicely in the housing, what is length and width of the bulb, i couldn't fine this information on your website, thank you.

    • @BlackTopRacingCars
      @BlackTopRacingCars  9 лет назад +1

      +Darmo The total height of the bulb from top to bottom is about 2.36" The main width of the bulb is .71" and the widest part near the base is .79" wide.

    I got a question,
    So my headlights, turning signal lights, brake lights are working. But my taillights are not I checked the fuse and they were popped, I replaced like 3 times but it seems that my fuse for my tail lights keep going out. I was wonder what would cause this to happen?
    Also I’m still running the factory taillights. My model is a 05 350z 35th anniversary edition

      i’m sure you got this figured out by now but if you didn’t and kept popping fuses til now, i had the EXACT same problem and it turned out my headlights wires were getting ripped up by my tires and it would blow my taillight fuse, idky idk how but when i fixed the headlights it also fixed the taillight fuse issue. went through a whole 25 pack of fuses before figuring that out thanks to my old man even tho i called him crazy for even recommending it. anyways all the best to you

    Need help my 2006 350z passenger side tail light won't turn on when on! Brake light, hazard lights, and turn signals work but not parking light. How can I replace it if it doesn't have a bulb

    • @BlackTopRacingCars
      @BlackTopRacingCars  8 лет назад

      +Shredded Munoz Twins
      Your tail light portion of this light is all built-in LED's, so if the actual LED's are bad you'll have to replace the entire tail light assembly, but I highly doubt this is the case. Try checking the connection to the tail light, see if it's getting power to the tail light harness, if not it might be a fuse. Otherwise the connector might have lost connection due to corrosion. If so, you may just need to clean the connector and put some dialectic grease in the connector to help with a better connection. Feel free to send us an email for technical support, sales@blacktop.racing if you need any help.

    What is the length of the Brake lights? And how much space is there between the end of the bulb and the tail light cover?

    • @BlackTopRacingCars
      @BlackTopRacingCars  9 лет назад +1

      +syndromer I'm looking at the bulb now. The total height of the bulb is about 2.36" (that's measuring everything from top to bottom) and when the bulb is inserted into the socket about 1.88" of the bulb sticks out beyond the socket. When looking at the housing from the outside, and seeing the bulb installed inside, I would say its about a half inch to an inch away from the cover. It's a little hard to tell with the distortion of the lens and with it being curved, but there is space.

    I accidentally ended up breaking the tabs on the tail light and 2/3 of the bolts holding the light in place. Is it possible to fix?

    I have an unusual issue that I couldn't find any information on. I replaced my brake lights with the LED bulbs--but they won't both come on at the same time. If I take out the larger bulb and turn it 180 degrees (the wrong polarity), the small bulb will light but the large bulb will not come one. The small bulb won't light if the large bulb is not in the socket, and if I put the large bulb in with the correct polarity, the small bulb won't light, but the large bulb will light. Can anyone help explain what's going on? I now have working LED bulbs, but can't get both to come on at the same time, so my brake lights are dimmer than with the OEM bulbs--since only the large ones light up. Help! :)

    If your going to install LED Turn Signals, don't you need to install a LED Load Resistor?

    • @BlackTopRacingCars
      @BlackTopRacingCars  9 лет назад

      +PolandBoy14 You are right. Check out our next video (being uploaded right now) to see how to install the Load equalizing resistors for the rear turn signals.

    The light is still held in place by one bolt though

  • @ryansperriko

    So do you need load resistors when changing just the tailight/brake light? Or is that just for the turn signals?

    What shift knob is that? Also, do you have a short shifter?

    • @BlackTopRacingCars
      @BlackTopRacingCars  8 лет назад

      Right now, we don't have the short shifter in there, Chris said that he tried on and didn't like it. The knob that you're probably seeing from this footage was the “Tommy Kaira Japan - Heavy Baby Shift Knob”

      It's actually the original steering wheel but was stripped down, wrapped in real carbon fiber, and new high quality leather. Cost about $700 to do.

      Both the parking light bulb and the brake light bulb? They are two separate bulbs, and they both come in pairs.
