My best memory of a concert with them, was in Denmark, where we were all waiting for them to start the show. Everything suddently went dark, and the band walked in, single file, THROUGH THE CROWD, with the front man carrying a single torch. Everyone just made room for them, without any security of any kind. The got up on some sort of bridge, that lifted them up level to the stage, and the show started. I get chills just thinking about it still.
Denmark can take the noble credit of being one of-probably-only a few countries on Earth that a Deus-tier band like Rammstein could "risk" walking through a crowd even as large as ⅒ of the population *sans security* and essentially take for granted that not only will their entire trek very likely stay incident-free, the trust implicit in their action would surely be acknowledged by the crowd, and the resulting appreciation for the privilege of being granted such an unfiltered experience would be palpable among such a majority of concert-goers that it would practically encompass the beloved band and essentially double as a highly effective form of security itself †
The lead singer got his own pyrotechnincs licence and he is aso advanced on it that he is allowed to make his own fireworks. Part of the "sweat" on their bodies is a flame-retardant gel.
It's nine in the morning here in Germany right now. So you loaded this up at one in the morning German time. You will have the german Rammstein fans commenting and swamping you with suggestions in no time now we are up😊
Saw their show in LA last September...... the pyro was bigger and better.... the first tour of the US that they brought their full show production.... check out their live shows from 2022.... they only booked dates in the cities that allowed them to do the pyro..... "no pyro, no show"..... it was absolutely incredible, and the heat from the pyro was intense.
They did all this in San Antonio. Also "Mein Teil" was updated with a third flamethrower, big enough to require wheels. And the giant foam-spouting penis was upgraded to at least 15 feet long and he rode it like a bucking bronco while dousing the crowd. A Rammstein concert is very serious business.
I'm still not sure this isn't an April Fool's joke. You've never listened to Rammstein?! Goodness. One of my top 5 greatest voices in metal right here. I hope you react to more of them. As I'm sure someone has already mentioned, if you like pyro, you've come to the right place.
Amazing live preformers one of the best shows I've ever seen .. an pyro is a standard for them. The lead singer is a licensed pyrotechnic and if I remember correctly so are two other band members.. I'm always watching to see when I can catch them live again worth every penny
And that one was inside so they had to downgrade it a bit. The next one in Paris will be outside, in the Stade de France. They usually use around a metric ton of fuel for each concert.
@@RaXXha I think they have to call in the fire brigade in every city. Although nothing has ever happened. In the beginning, there was a small accident in Germany. 😂
I've seen them live twice and it is exactly like that. The first explosion of the gig was so loud it could be heard 9 miles away. The best live band ever.
This band exists official since 1994 and they have the same line up ever since. I don't think he personally sets everything up before every show, Im pretty sure they have roadies that do that, but he does plan do the design and planning for all the pyro
I am 17 years old and come from Germany. I grew up with Rammstein. Even when I was 3 years old, my parents sat me in front of the TV and turned on Rammstein videos. I was always perfectly happy watching them, my favorite thing to do (and I still do) is to watch the concert live from Paris. My parents have seen Rammstein live quite often. My mother has probably seen them 10 times now. I saw them live for the first time in 2019, then in 2022 and now last week I went to the dress rehearsal in we were standing front of stage (Feuerzone= Firezone), for which my mother won tickets, and I'm going to see Rammstein live again at the end of the summer. I'm already incredibly excited! I have to say that Rammstein concerts are not like normal concerts, I've seen a lot of bands like Green Day, Coldplay and Kiss but no show can compete with Rammstein. Not only the show is amazing, but also the lyrics, especially as a German native speaker you understand the background and in a completely different way. No live act has ever made me cry but when Rammstein opened the show in Prague last week with Ramm4, tears were streaming down my face because it meant everything to me. Rammstein is not just a band for many, many associate them with special memories and just a good time. For me, Rammstein is childhood!
What’s so amazing about that? The song is in German. If they were singing in Spanish the crowd would be singing in Spanish. The lyric is not that complicated.
@@europainvicta3907 Perhaps you're unaware of the historical animosity between France and Germany especially during WW2. There has been a lot of hatred towards Germany by the French. Many years of German-Nazi occupation failed to force the French to speak German but a few minutes of Rammstein achieved this. And the French hate to speak anything but French anyway..in general.
@@europainvicta3907 The point is that a horde of French people, who consider their language to be the non plus ultra and are not prepared to speak to tourists in another language, bawl in German, "Du has(s)t". «You have» / «You hate»
They're saying/singing "du (you)" "du hast (you have)" "du hast mich, du hast mich gefragt (you have asked me)" "und ich hab nichts gesagt (and I have said nothing)" "Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu ihr sein für alle Tage? (Do you want, until death do you part, be faithful to her every day?)" "Nein (no)" "Willst du, bis zum Tod der Scheide, sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen? (Do you want, to the death that parts, love her even on bad days?)" - - > technically the first part of this line can also mean "until the death of the vagina" if you want to interpret it that way or see it as a pun... the line has several legit translations "Nein (no)" Additional note: "du hast mich (gefragt) (you have (asked) me)" phonetically almost sounds like "du hasst mich (you hate me)" as well, and I think that's an intentional pun too
@@user-fu3hi3lj3w the line can have several different meanings, depending on the grammar, the commas and other factors... I haven't seen an official version of the lyrics by Rammstein and the internet gave me different versions of those factors and I went with the one that I personally like best lol... I know they often have lewd lyrics but in this case the lewd meaning doesn't make a lot of sense to me context wise, it frankly seems like a rather odd interpretation to me, not the first thing coming to my mind... I can make an edit though since it can technically count as a pun
I've been to a Rammstein open air concert at a stadium. We were not anywhere near the stage and sitting way up, and yet those pyros gave us such nice warmth in the cold evening 😄
You ain't heard and seen nothing yet when it comes to Rammstein! Their live shows are as epic as their music videos, so it's worth checking out both for sure! For more live you could do "Ich tu dir weh" live at Madison Square Garden Official video: "Mein Herz brennt" there's an original and Piano Version. Do both 👌😉
The crowd sings the lyrics: Du! Du hast! Du hast mich! (You! You have/hate!/ You have / hate me!) There is kind of a play on words in German - Du hast can mean you have or you hate. Then, in the first verse for example, he finishes the sentence saying Du hast mich gefragt, which mean You've asked me.
They also played this song in Madison Square Garden (NY) including pyro (just a bit less extreme). Wanna know what the lyrics are about? The first three words are "Du hast mich" (you have me) which at that moment doesn't make any sense in German. But it sounds (intentionally) the same as "Du hasst mich" (you hate me). Later in the song, the first three words are extended to a full sentence: "Du hast mich gefragt und ich hab nichts gesagt." (You asked me and I did not answer.) And then, to show what he was asked, the chorus is a wedding vow: "Willst Du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu ihr sein für alle Tage?" (Do you want to be faithful to her for all days until death do us part?) This is answered first by a kind of female voice "Ja" (yes) and afterwards by Till's harsh voice "Nein!" (No!). These - plus a slightly obscene word play on the wedding vow, that I will not explain here - are the whole lyrics (repeated a few times). What videos to watch from Rammstein? I have a "few" suggestions. If you want to see their (incredible) live performances I would suggest (in this sequence) Rammlied (live from Madison Square Garden) Engel (live from Madison Square Garden) Sonne (live at Rock im Park 2017) Links 2 3 4 (live from Madison Square Garden) Ich will (live from Hurricane Festival 2016) Ich tu dir weh (live from Madison Square Garden) (don't take the lyrics too serious) Mein Teil (live at Hurricane Festival 2013) Amazing official videos Sonne (Sun) heavy, screwed up fairy-tale Links 2 3 4 (left) partly heavy march Ich will (I want) heavy, simple, way to celebrity Spring! (Jump!) (fan-made animated version with english subtitles) slow, partly heavy, very dark sarcasm! Radio (Radio) catchy song (with serious background) Keine Lust (not in the mood) heavy, funny, slidely sad Mein Herz brennt (My heart burns) scary, nightmarish, very special Amerika (America) catchy, not a love song Newest official videos from their last album "Zeit" in sequence of the tracks on the album: Zeit (Time) slow, dark, melancholic, emotional Zick Zack (Snip Snap) catchy song, sarcastic, funny Angst (Fear) very Rammstein, scary, credits at the end are helpful to understand the message Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) heavy (most of the time), catchy, funny, credits are funny too (my view) Adieu (Goodbye) dark, sometimes heavy, emotional Last but not least the great (but not nice) video "Deutschland" which has a lot of references to (mostly unpleasent) parts of German history. Video, lyrics, and sound are great (my view) and work very well together. For many of Rammstein's videos there are English subtitles available. To find a lot of them, you may search on RUclips for: "educated marine rammstein" + songname For live videos of Rammstein songs, www.youtube.com/@Bucksttabu/playlists is a good source. In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of "Du hast".) I wish you to enjoy your Rammstein journey.
This is one of my favorite songs, when this song came out back in the day I was like “yes thank you!” One more thing I wanna say is the way they captivate an audience is nothing short of spectacular. Imagine you’re that band on stage and this huge venue full of people and they’re all singing in unison and on key, I might add!
Story time: So back in 2011 here in New Zealand, there was an outdoor music festival called “The Big Day Out”, multiple bands and musical artists from around the world (as well as home grown bands). It was rainy on the day (January 10th I think) and didn’t have an umbrella or raincoat and so got absolutely drenched! Luckily Rammstein were doing an hour set, by the end of it, I was bone dry!!! LOVE LOVE THEM!!!
Beside the absolutely driving beat and the pyrotechnics, Rammstein's lyrics are deep and play on the German language. The lyrics of this song use wordplay (things that sound the same but have different meanings) and satire to expose the way that marriage vows can sometimes end up turning into possession, confrontation, hate or indifference or paralysis and inability to answer. The intial lyrics are: Du = You Du hast (du hasst) = You have (you hate) Du hast mich (du hasst mich) = You have me (you hate me) Du hast mich gefragt = You asked me Und ich habe nichts gesagt = And I said nothing
@gracestarcevich9867 Maybe your mum hasn't heard of the spelling reform of the 1990s. Since then the letter ß is only used in writing after a long vowel, not a short one. Tell her to look up " Neue Deutsche Rechtscreibung". But in any case, whether "haßt" or "hasst", the word is pronounced exactly the same as "hast". They are homophones. Without context you do not know which of the meanings is meant. PS: Though not born in Germany, I'm a naturalised citizen. I've lived in Germany for 44 years and been speaking German for 52 years. Germans think I'm a native speaker. Ask your mum to actually listen to the meaning behind the song.
Saw them live 4 times and they're AMAZING!!! Best show ever! Each and every time! They're just the best!!!! 💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🧨🤘 I saw a lot of different performers (rock, pop, classic,... you name it, I saw it!) and Rammstein is just the best! Their show is a new level, something no one does! And if it's an open arena - be ready for a heat wave, it's hot wherever you're standing 🥵😂💥🔥❤🔥 And the crowd is the safest from them all! Everyone is so friendly and just celebrating to be a part of Rammstein family!
@JohnReavesLive you should react to more of their songs. It's a German band, with deep lyrics that reflect on several areas. They don't dance but the shows are always fantastic. I love your BTS reactions and I think you'll really like Rammstein.
Oh John... Seriously, it's freaking Rammstein (pronounced ram-shtain)! They've been around for ages 😂 If you liked fire I suggest Feuer Frei, for more emotional experience for example Mutter. They are from Germany so if you find vids with subbs, go for that. It's so awesome when someone discovers a band that's been around for a long time and they get to experience all their work from scratch (like BTS or One Ok Rock 😉💜). I hope you'll enjoy the experience. As usual thanks for your reaction 😊
I can't believe u have never listened to Till. Omg he's awesome in studio and I hear live. I've never had the privilege to see them live. U gotta remember 27 years and same 6 original members. Gotta be good. Till Lindeman is talented on all levels...lyricist, props, and vocals. As for the Pyro I love how the stage explodes and he just sings like he's in a field somewhere. Does not phase Till.
Rammstein is the king of pyrotechnics. Their lead vocalist is an actual Pyro technician they do fire and all kinds of stuff. This is just the surface of how epic their shows are.
Yeaaaaah ! I follow you for some time because of BTS but now NOW, you just enjoyed my favorite group !!! I loved them for 20y Their concerts are in another level, it's huge and freaking hot near the fire !!! Their lives are nuts and their music videos are beautiful An another rabbit hole for you 💜🔥
This live performance is wild! Fun fact my cousin actually walked into her wedding reception to this song because the title is similar to her (then new) last name! It was pretty cool, haha.
The chorus of the song, is the German version of the wedding vows. .. well, with the twist that the answer to the ".. until death do you part" is both yes and no. In short, this is the most metal wedding song you can possibly have 🙂 Furthermore ,, "Du hast", when spoken, can mean both "you have .. " and "you hate .. "
I never get tired of seeing that video, by far one of my favorite performances. You also need to check out their live Engel in Madison square garden. Keep up the great content bro!! Live long and rock on! 🤘
I`m 55 years old and still headbang to Rammstein! I`ve seen them live 1 time and plan to see them again this year, they are brilliant live!👍.It`s one of the best conserts I have seen! Recommend you to hear SEHNSUCHT (live in Berlin 1998) and chech out the video ICH TU DIR WEH (it`s crazy) 2 of many many favorites! ROCK ON!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
They do that in America too. Ok at the beginning they have been arrested and stuff (not only for explosions 🤭). But now a days they say no pyro no show period..the last concerts have been the "North America Stadium Tour" in 2022.
I really love that, even though their performance is double as extra as 90% of every metal band's show fantasy when theyre listening to their idols on the way to the shops, the way Rammstein still downplays the actual *playing* of the music is such a fun diversion from the over the top musical performances of classic metal. It makes it somehow both very blasé and cool, but very theatrical and over the top at the same time. It fits their strange industrial metal so well, which is so grimy and gritty, but also funny and a spectacle. It's this total package that just *works*.
ive seen them 4 times. went to family values 98 in indianapolis just to see them. had discovered them a couple years prior to that. put up with limp bizkit to see them. i saw them just this past september in LA for one of the greatest live shows i will ever see in my life
They played here in Las Vegas a few years back and they had some of the most intense pyro I have ever experienced at a concert. As a matter of fact, their vocalist quite often performs with pyro by lighting his wings on fire.
They did, in fact, come to America and they did, in fact, have crazy pyrotechnics 🤘🏽 I saw them! One of the best nights of my life!! Btw, they are saying “du hast mich” It means “you have me” or it could also mean “you hate me”.
Yes, Ramstein lyrics work a lot with the debt and complexity of the German language the difference between "Du hast..." meaning "You have" or "You did" and "Du hasst" meaning "You hate" is just the way the s and the double s are pronounced and Till is somehow smoothing the difference during his performance.
This was exactly the same pyro they just did in the US tour later summer 2022. I caught the LA show and was amazing. I also saw them in Dallas in 2001 and Chicago in 2011. No one does a live show like Rammstein. Now you gotta go and look into all their work. Hands down best song/music video has got to be Deutschland closely followed by Zeit. Ohne Dich is probably their best song musically. The piano cover of Mein Herz Brennt with till singing is one of the most surreal performances of any artist you’ll ever see/hear, watch with the subtitles.
I've heard one of the reasons Flake is on the treadmill is to charge the tesla coil for the lightening effects but don't know how true that is. If you want more be sure to check out all the live performances and get the English subtitled versions if you can - Ich Will, Engel, Mein Hertz Brennt (Piano version), Deutchland, Feuer freil, Mein Teil, Ich tu dir weh.....the list is endless but all masterpieces, you won't be disappointed!
After being a MASSIVE fan of Rammstein for about 15 years give or take, I FINALLY got to see them live in 2019, and it was beyond the slightest little shadow of adoubt THE SINGLE BEST concert I have ever been too, and I've been to quite a few! Their liveshow is unmatched by any other band, absolutely EPIC! Im telling you right now, if you ever get the chance to see them live, DO IT! You will not regret it I assure you of that! These live videos are cool but they do not come close to actually being there in person!
I saw them last September and they were unbelievable, and they did ALL the pyro. There were big structures in the middle of the crowd that was shooting off flames. I saw them at the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. I've liked them since 1997 when I was in the 7th grade. If you get a chance to see them live you should definitely do it! Also, I usually pronounce it Rohm-shtine. A couple fun facts... when the lead singer (Till) is bent over pounding his fist on his knee... That's called the Till Hammer. During one of his concerts his knee was dislocated I believe and he was pounding on it trying to get it back in place. Everyone said it looked cool so he kept doing it. Till also has really bad stage fright, so a lot of times he uses pyro and props to take the focus off of himself.
No, that is not how you say rammstein. Just listen to some of their song where they actualy say it like the song rammstein or Wollt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen to mention a few.
I love different bands for different reasons. Rammstein is the best at what they have become, in my opinion. A million other people want to do their thing, aber das ist nicht echte. Yeah I ain't fluent.
And... It is a love song! [Verse] You, you have, you have me You, you have, you have me You, you have, you have me You, you have, you have me [Pre-Chorus] You, you have, you have me You have me, you asked me You asked me, you asked me and I said nothing [Chorus] Do you want, until death separates you To be faithful to her for all days (Yes) No (Yes) No Do you want, until death, which would separate To love her, even in bad days (Yes) No (Yes) No [Verse] You, you have, you have me You, you have, you have me [Pre-Chorus] You, you have, you have me You have me, you asked me You asked me, you asked me and I said nothing [Chorus] Do you want, until death separates you To be faithful to her for all days (Yes) No (Yes) No Do you want, until death, which would separate To love her, even in bad days (Yes) No (Yes) No Do you want, until death separates you To be faithful to her for all days (Yes) No (Yes) No
But 'Du hasst mich', which is not the title but sounds the same, means 'You hate me', which makes it even better. Because she asked him to marry her and he said nothing, so now she hates him.
I’m 63 n went to almost every heavy metal show in the late 70’s to 80s n saw all the greats-JP n Sabbath were me faves. Heard this on a movie soundtrack n blew it off for years- Wife played this on Easter this year n I can’t stop listening to it😂👍🏆
If you want more vocals try "Ich tu Dir weh" or the official Video of the Piano Version of "Mein Herz brennt. In Wiener Blut it gets really dark. The video for " Deutschland" ist nuts. Feuer Frei or Mein Teil live are great if you like the flames😅
Lead singer til and I believe a couppe other bandmates all became certified as pytrotechnicians after they had their first time using fireworks and pyrotechnics and using another company doing the pyro configuration and they got hurt and it was a disaster. So they do it themselves so its amazing :)
These guys are in their 60's, they have doing this for years. The lead singer is a certified pyro-technician and he designs all their pyrotechnics. They were rocking when I was a young man int he 1980's.

Nice reaction! Rammstein is beyond good live. Just an awesome show. The opening of their latest stadium tour was phenomenal and the show never dropped off from there.
It blew my mind, especially in Paris, where people can be a bit prickly if the tourists expect them to speak their language, so they need not bother learning a few French words.
You're right. This band's live shows are awesome. Now you realize that their live shows are great. Imagine how great their music videos are when they put as much effort into those.

Amazing live preformers one of the best shows I've ever seen .. an pyro is a standard for them. The lead singer is a licensed pyrotechnic and if I remember correctly so are two other band members.. I'm always watching to see when I can catch them live again worth every penny
I saw them in San Antonio and the pyro was probably 4x as much with stuff exploding full stacks in the floor crowd. It was insane.
When you went ”Fire?” I smiled all over. You’ll have a positive surprise going down the Rammstein rabbit hole…
This band exists official since 1994 and they have the same line up ever since.
Their names are: Till Lindemann (vocalist, lyricist and licensed pyrotecnition, that is why they can do what they do at life performances). There is an old interview with him from 1998 were he explains a little bit of it: ruclips.net/video/uUkjov1tbAY/видео.html He als has his side projects called "Lindemann" with Peter Tägtgren from Hypocrisy and Pain and in his youth he was a swimmer and almost at the Olympic Games in 1980, but due to an injury he had to give it up. Since 4th of January 2023 he is 60.
Richard Z. Kruspe is the lead guitarist from Rammstein and has some stories to tell: ruclips.net/video/9uBdY9xDYl8/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/7Wq-39iJSE8/видео.html Richard has also his side Project Emigrate where he sings and writes the songs in English , if you want to give him a try: ruclips.net/video/npwM8-j8_T0/видео.html
Then there is Paul Landers the rhythm guitarist who was already in the GDR-Band "Feeling B" with Christian "Flake" Lorenz (synthesiser) and Christoph "Doom" Schneider (drummer).
Flake also wrote two books so far.
And then there is Oliver Riedel the bassist of the band.
All six are from the former GDR/behind the wall en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Germany (some younger once do not know about this time, for all outside Europe)

Yes, I am a fan since I am 16 and that was more than 25 years ago. Thank you for the reaction and I hope I could help you a little bit with it.❤
Lead vocalist Till Lindemann is a master pyrotechnician. He sets the pyro show for their concerts.
yeah, the whole band are now!
Even more amazing about the crowd participation - this was in France and the crowd was singing in German! Great reaction. 🙂❤
I mean you kind of have to sing it in German since they do not do it in another language, as far as I'm aware.
What’s so amazing about that? The song is in German. If they were singing in Spanish the crowd would be singing in Spanish. The lyric is not that complicated.
@@europainvicta3907 wer die Franzosen kennt, der weiß dass sie ihn nicht gerne in anderen Sprachen singen, und schon gar nicht in Deutsch.
The crowd is chanting.... You have... You have me.... You.... you have... you have me.
and you hate me, it´s the same word.
I ALWAYS love the line "is that guy on a treadmill?" 🦊
I don’t know why, but I love that _every_ reaction to this video starts with “Is that guy on a treadmill?”.
They did the pyro in the states too. I saw them when Du Hast was super popular back in 1998. Amazing 1st show too see when you are 16 yrs old.
I first heard of them in Philly (FamilyValuesTour) in '98.
I also saw them during the Family Values Tour in '98. Great show.
They're saying/singing
"du (you)" "du hast (you have)" "du hast mich, du hast mich gefragt (you have asked me)" "und ich hab nichts gesagt (and I have said nothing)"
"Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet treu ihr sein für alle Tage? (Do you want, until death do you part, be faithful to her every day?)"
"Nein (no)"
"Willst du, bis zum Tod der Scheide, sie lieben auch in schlechten Tagen? (Do you want, to the death that parts, love her even on bad days?)" - - > technically the first part of this line can also mean "until the death of the vagina" if you want to interpret it that way or see it as a pun... the line has several legit translations
"Nein (no)"
Additional note: "du hast mich (gefragt) (you have (asked) me)" phonetically almost sounds like "du hasst mich (you hate me)" as well, and I think that's an intentional pun too
in the last line you have cheated with the translation 🤣
@@user-fu3hi3lj3w the line can have several different meanings, depending on the grammar, the commas and other factors... I haven't seen an official version of the lyrics by Rammstein and the internet gave me different versions of those factors and I went with the one that I personally like best lol... I know they often have lewd lyrics but in this case the lewd meaning doesn't make a lot of sense to me context wise, it frankly seems like a rather odd interpretation to me, not the first thing coming to my mind... I can make an edit though since it can technically count as a pun
Mandatory: "IS THAT GUY IN A TREADMILL?!"
a classic for people watching this for the first time.
I've been 6x to a Rammstein concert. The best time of my life ❤
They sold out their concert in Madison Square Garden a few years back in 25 Minutes. The MSG show was also filmed, lots of live videos out there.
For more live you could do "Ich tu dir weh" live at Madison Square Garden
Official video: "Mein Herz brennt" there's an original and Piano Version. Do both 👌😉
Imagine in the stadium!Rammstein has a brutal power and you can’t imagine the heat from the pyro!🇵🇹🤟
You're the first person reacting to this video who I saw reacting to the audience ❤ respect❤❤❤
It happened in America. Watched them in San Antonio Sept. 2022. Yeah fire explosions all of it. Great performance!! All night!!
I saw Rammstein in Philadelphia. The pyro was every bit as impressive as it was in this video!
It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this, I will never get sick of this.
The crowd sings the lyrics: Du! Du hast! Du hast mich! (You! You have/hate!/ You have / hate me!) There is kind of a play on words in German - Du hast can mean you have or you hate. Then, in the first verse for example, he finishes the sentence saying Du hast mich gefragt, which mean You've asked me.
lol so sorry, I'm replying as I'm watching - the singer has a pyrotechnician license, and is in charge of all of it. He's super serious about this.
oh brother! they do those pyrotechnics!!! TRUST their shows are MIND BLOWING!!!
If you want to see their (incredible) live performances I would suggest (in this sequence)
Rammlied (live from Madison Square Garden)
Engel (live from Madison Square Garden)
Sonne (live at Rock im Park 2017)
Links 2 3 4 (live from Madison Square Garden)
Ich will (live from Hurricane Festival 2016)
Ich tu dir weh (live from Madison Square Garden) (don't take the lyrics too serious)
Mein Teil (live at Hurricane Festival 2013)
Amazing official videos
Sonne (Sun) heavy, screwed up fairy-tale
Links 2 3 4 (left) partly heavy march
Ich will (I want) heavy, simple, way to celebrity
Spring! (Jump!) (fan-made animated version with english subtitles) slow, partly heavy, very dark sarcasm!
Radio (Radio) catchy song (with serious background)
Keine Lust (not in the mood) heavy, funny, slidely sad
Mein Herz brennt (My heart burns) scary, nightmarish, very special
Amerika (America) catchy, not a love song
Newest official videos from their last album "Zeit" in sequence of the tracks on the album:
Zeit (Time) slow, dark, melancholic, emotional
Zick Zack (Snip Snap) catchy song, sarcastic, funny
Angst (Fear) very Rammstein, scary, credits at the end are helpful to understand the message
Dicke Titten (Big Boobs) heavy (most of the time), catchy, funny, credits are funny too (my view)
Adieu (Goodbye) dark, sometimes heavy, emotional
Last but not least the great (but not nice) video "Deutschland" which has a lot of references to (mostly unpleasent) parts of German history. Video, lyrics, and sound are great (my view) and work very well together.
For many of Rammstein's videos there are English subtitles available. To find a lot of them, you may search on RUclips for: "educated marine rammstein" + songname
For live videos of Rammstein songs, www.youtube.com/@Bucksttabu/playlists is a good source.
In case of Rammstein, precise translations of the lyrics is hard work (and sometimes not possible in subtitles), because they are playing many times with double meanings of words or slightly modify common German expressions and symbolic language pictures to invert or change their meanings. (That is even used in the very simple lyrics of "Du hast".)
I wish you to enjoy your Rammstein journey.
Rammstein are equally well known for their awesome hard, driving music and their insane pyrotechnics!
I think most people have the same first time reaction to this video - awesome reaction. Keep doing what you do.
For me personally their album Mutter is the best ! I’m 67 yrs old and love them… they are all pyrotechnics experts and do their own shows
I’m 69 and love this Band! My son got me hooked on Rammstein
I'm 61 and old people rock!!!!! I'm in love w Till at 60 he's still hot. 😛
Story time:
So back in 2011 here in New Zealand, there was an outdoor music festival called “The Big Day Out”, multiple bands and musical artists from around the world (as well as home grown bands).
The intial lyrics are:
Du = You
Du hast (du hasst) = You have (you hate)
Du hast mich (du hasst mich) = You have me (you hate me)
Du hast mich gefragt = You asked me
Und ich habe nichts gesagt = And I said nothing
The dichotomy of love/hate continues with the angelic chorus singing "ja (yes)", with the response being a harsh "NEIN (no)"
Are you German? My Mum is & she said it’s def “you have” as hate is double “S” .. “haßt”(hasst)
Flake dances.
Rammstein Paris Show: 300 Pyro effects per Show, 80 kg of lycopodium, 40 litres of isoparrafin...and some confetti.
yay!!! one of rammstein's best songs ever! thank you for doing this. I enjoyed 👍🏼
Im from germany and we love rammstein ❤ 🇩🇪
I loved them for 20y
Their concerts are in another level, it's huge and freaking hot near the fire !!!
Their lives are nuts and their music videos are beautiful
An another rabbit hole for you 💜🔥
This live performance is wild! Fun fact my cousin actually walked into her wedding reception to this song because the title is similar to her (then new) last name! It was pretty cool, haha.
Look for Engel live on stage.
I was yesterday in Gelsenkirchen ❤
I saw them in concert in Tampa, Florida. Best show ever!
Oh they 100% do all the Pyro in America too. I just saw them for the 2nd time back on August in Minneapolis and the Pyro was absolutely phenomenal
ROCK ON!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
"Is that guy on a treadmill?!" - every reaction video I've ever seen of this song has that phrase :D
Seen them in LA, they did that!!
Saw them live in Paris 4 weeks ago. Travelled from Dublin to see them. Indescribable experience.
It's this total package that just *works*.
ive seen them 4 times. went to family values 98 in indianapolis just to see them. had discovered them a couple years prior to that. put up with limp bizkit to see them. i saw them just this past september in LA for one of the greatest live shows i will ever see in my life
That treadmill is powering everything on stage.
I saw Rammstein in Tacoma Washington, and it was a show I will never forget! Yes they played this song with the pyro!
They played here in Las Vegas a few years back and they had some of the most intense pyro I have ever experienced at a concert. As a matter of fact, their vocalist quite often performs with pyro by lighting his wings on fire.
They did, in fact, come to America and they did, in fact, have crazy pyrotechnics 🤘🏽
I saw them! One of the best nights of my life!!
Btw, they are saying “du hast mich”
It means “you have me” or it could also mean “you hate me”.
It's the director's cut because the video was edited together from two performances and footage from the rehearsal.
They just did a stadium tour of the US 2 years ago......did it all. My nephew is hooked...lol
I used to listen to this song a lot in high school 😂
Dude how am I so late to the party?!?
@@JohnReavesLive Honestly...I am wondering the same thing hahahaha
Couple years ago, I met an event organizer who booked Rammstein for his event. Recording to him, they charg one million for the pyrotechnics
I saw Rammstein
I'm 64 yrs old
They are awesome at a show and yes they do the pyrotechnics in the US
Du hast mench means
You hate me in german
If you're into Vin Diesel, they were also in his movie xXx performing Feuer Frei 🔥
I loved their performance in that movie
They actually have bigger pyrotechnics than that they just played at Madisonsquare garden not too long ago they play in the US quite a bit.
Ummmm………they totally do this in America. The pyro in their shows is epic. I saw them live in San Antonio. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
That Alamodome show was beyond words
I was at that show! It was the best!
In the US too, f. e Madison Square Garden Concert 🤘🧨✨️
Welcome to the best live band in the world. And the best band in the world in general (at least to me). 🖤
I love different bands for different reasons. Rammstein is the best at what they have become, in my opinion. A million other people want to do their thing, aber das ist nicht echte. Yeah I ain't fluent.
And... It is a love song!
[Verse]
You, you have, you have me
You, you have, you have me
You, you have, you have me
You, you have, you have me
[Pre-Chorus]
You, you have, you have me
You have me, you asked me
You asked me, you asked me and I said nothing
[Chorus]
Do you want, until death separates you
To be faithful to her for all days
(Yes) No
(Yes) No
Do you want, until death, which would separate
To love her, even in bad days
(Yes) No
(Yes) No
[Verse]
You, you have, you have me
You, you have, you have me
[Pre-Chorus]
You, you have, you have me
You have me, you asked me
You asked me, you asked me and I said nothing
[Chorus]
Do you want, until death separates you
To be faithful to her for all days
(Yes) No
(Yes) No
Do you want, until death, which would separate
To love her, even in bad days
(Yes) No
(Yes) No
Do you want, until death separates you
To be faithful to her for all days
(Yes) No
(Yes) No
But 'Du hasst mich', which is not the title but sounds the same, means 'You hate me', which makes it even better.
Because she asked him to marry her and he said nothing, so now she hates him.
They played the US last summer , Stadium tour , AWESOME!
I’m 63 n went to almost every heavy metal show in the late 70’s to 80s n saw all the greats-JP n Sabbath were me faves.
Heard this on a movie soundtrack n blew it off for years-
Wife played this on Easter this year n I can’t stop listening to it😂👍🏆
If you want more vocals try "Ich tu Dir weh" or the official Video of the Piano Version of "Mein Herz brennt.
They were rocking when I was a young man int he 1980's.
i know they founded in 1994
Kunst muss anecken und provozieren. Rammstein ein Gesamtkunstwerk und Lindemann ein Ausnahmekünstler. Chapeau !
Welcome to the world of Rammstein. 🇩🇪🇩🇪 The crowd sings „Du hast. Du hast. Du hast mich … du hast mich gefragt, und ich hab nichts gesagt“. (Original lyrics in German.) Check out their other live shows, eg. live in New York at Madison Square Garden.
This is one of my two favorite Rammstein songs. They are my husband's favorite group. I have BTS and he has Rammstein.
I would say to check out Deutschland, Ich Tu Dir Weh, Sonne, Ich Will, Engel, Adieu
I too have only discovered them 5 days ago and they are all I'm listening to right now.
"I have to go to a Paris show!"
This isn't Paris, this is just Rammstein, all the time, everywhere.
Oh they do this exact show in the US now, but way bigger lol.
This is my favorite song from Rammstein. They’re the best!
Oh my fosh..I started listening to this band soooooooo long ago..like 20 17yrs ago.
This whole 2012 concert is available on RUclips. YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE HOW AMAZING THIS SHOW WAS.
"is this guy on a treadmill" - the most often reaction to this video hahaha
Nice reaction! Rammstein is beyond good live. Just an awesome show. The opening of their latest stadium tour was phenomenal and the show never dropped off from there.
What amaze me the most is the fact that we are hearing so many french people singing in the German languish...
