In the South too we have the same dish they ate in the first one (rice in water and yogurt). In Telugu we call it Sadhi Annam and Tamizh we call it Pazhaya Soru. We mostly eat it with a side of onion and green chili. Best thing for those scorching hot days. So cool to see the cultural similarities.
In Malayalam it's called pazhaya kanji or pazhangajee or kanjee Even in mandarin it's congee same pronounciation. We eat it with kidney beans, mango pickle, pappad. The analogy you gave as Odiya and Bangla being siblings is so apt! We bangalis have immense love and respect for our odiya siblings. And imo most of the tourists in odisha are actually bangali.
The whole odia tourism is alive due to Bengalis
I can say, Bengalis have explored more in Odisha than even the Odiyas.
@@okayaresdlow life spotted.stop spreading hate..
I'm from up I so want to explore odissa and bengal❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢
People living in Purba Medinipur are closer to Odias than to Bengalis
As an Assamese now i finally know what 'ghonta' in 'muri ghonta' means while I have been eating this since childhood. I had no idea Odisha ppl made this dish too. It's pretty well known here too.
Yahh! We cooked it so many yrs and like to eat!!
We eat muri at least 2 times a day😂 we always have a muri jar in every households in Western Odisha. It's more common than biscuits. As common as rice. We call it bhuja in regional Language. Many of us many it on our own.
Assam & Odisha may not share a common border, but we are linguistic, ethnic, cultural, and culinary siblings.
I remember having Chena podo for the first time in Odisha on the last day of our trip.... Can't tell you how much I regretted having it so late. It's one of the bestest things I've tasted.. ❤
people 4m andhrapradesh coming 2 orissa 4 chenna podo
6:32 aerey ama Cuttack Bhai 🎉😹😎
Congratullations to entire OK Tested team for completing 1M views.🎉💐 ❤
Satyam Sir & Akshay Sir as promised earlier you both have to visit Odisha now. 😃😇❤
Being an Odia who just moved to Delhi, I literally had tears watching this video! Satyaaammmm!
The efforts you have put in this video is sooooooooooo amazing! I hope you guys hit double the views you are expecting, cause all these dishes are 10X better in Orissa itself! ❤
And Satyam, I believe, it's our duty as Odias to make him taste the 2 love of our lives, Dahibara aludum and chena poda! 😋
Gonna share this video as much as possible! And just in case you guys visit Orissa, please allow me to host you too! ✌🥂
Loads and loads of love! And a little more for Satyam! ❤❤❤
Odisha * sad very sad

Same here
@@diggym20 hey! I get it, Odisha is the correct word to use! But just to me, Orissa sounds so much better! ❤ Anyways, different names but same emotions! ✌❤️🔥
@@subhasmitasahoo7997 kindly accept it was never because u felt it sounded better, u were wrong rectify and thanks that’s all..far from illogical justification
Pokhal is the staple.. we Bengalis also have panta bhat and i absolutely love it... That's why Odisha and Bengal share special bond always ❤ I love visiting Puri (Odisha) whenever i get time.. the warmth is just amazing..never gets old!
it's not pokhal but Pakhalaw!!
Pakhala
We Malayalis also have it 😊
Pakhaalaw
A Bengali is not Bengali if they not visited Puri once 😂
@OKTestedbyscoopwhoop 1 million ho gaye bhai.....
Come to Odisha soon
oh and for everyone who doesn't understand what BODI CHURA is. Bodi is urad daal soaked and blended into a paste and then dried in the sun till it turns crispy solid. So with pakhalow we fry them and then make a crunchy side dish by just beating them or blending it in a mixie once with onions, chillies and salt and whatever else you want to add it to make it yummy.
PS. Please correct me if I was wrong anywhere fellow Oriyas :)
Nd some garlic also.. 😍
Not oriyas it's odias😋
Thank you I from bhadrak
Bodi is love... M a Bengali btw
Basically dried Vada batter
I met Akshay around a month ago in Noida…he is one of the most humble people I’ve come across..he has an amazing warmth and energy…He promised he’ll be back and delivered!

Having mixed emotions after watching this video, too happy, feeling like crying, missing Odisha, can't express my emotions literally was eating pasta and this video poped up and I was like ahhhhhhhhhh Odia food. After coming to Delhi, not even a single day would pass by without me craving for Odia food. Thank you for bringing this video up and I really hope that this video hit the 2 million target so that you guys get to relish the legit Dahi bara aloo dum, chenna poda and all other dishes that can be only enjoyed in Odisha💖
I am from Assam... And I can relate we have some similarities between our dishes like we too have Poita-Vat. Besides I really wanna try Odia Dishes❤ Love From Assam🙏
Love from Odisha too
❤❤🤗
❤️
I was about to write this comment that the food of Assam is also almost same, poita bhat which is too good for health and Santa Sharma 1st Runner up of Master Chef 2023 made this dish in her finale also ❤
Mauryan Empire is the reason..so you will find similarities eastern language, food, culture and many other things
Feeling extremely happy to see them together again😊 the way Akshay said 'muri ghonto', being a Bengali I found it so overwhelming 😊
It's million now you have to come Odisha😊
So basically I am from Uttarakhand and my boyfriend is odia, he is a huge fan of you guys, I have tried all these dishes except chena poda and dahi bara aalu dum and I am in love with odia food and my odia guy 😂 But please make sure that next time you guys should try Uttrakhandi food and I want Vivek (Shant pahadi) in that video😂😂... Much love ❤ to Odisha from Uttarakhand....
Love you @miss Negi😘😘
😀
Really...even I want that too...that they should try Uttrakhandi food with vivek
Can I also get a Pahadi GF? It seems I need to move out of Odisha. 😅😂😂 #sarcasm
Are are Bhauja!!😆
Being a maithili who grew up speaking similar language , food and culture it is something I'm already familiar with. We maithil , odia Bengali and Assamese people share culture , food and language so it doesn't feel unfamiliar 🌼❣️love from mithila 🌼❣️🙏
Odias and Maithils are brothers. We share so many things in common. Our languages are cuisines are so similar.
I'm Bengali but my hometown is in Orissa.... Jb bhi jaati hu na their food is love... Mere nana and nani always used to make special dishes for us with love... Hayeee those days...

I felt very proud too to see today's video as Utkal Divas just passed on 1st April i.e, the day when Odisha was formed.
Lots of ❤️ to everyone from Odisha...!!!
First time i seen a man who is not faking our odia accent....Not just authentic food, this man is authentic himself...
Wow, a Bihari describing oriya cuisine proves that so diverse our country is , one of the best video , akshay and Satyam 😊😁
He is a bihari who has been brought up in odisha...so he is from both the states...
Stop hate mom getting against Hindi speakers
Oh . I thought initially he doesn't look like typical Odia.
Kudos to Satyam for making a video of our food and culture at this level ! Very few people know about the diversity and warmth of Odisha ! Thank you for doing this!
The reaction of Akshay after having PAHALA RASAGOLA litterly, simply made my day DAY...shout-out to my cute Husband who also loves Pahala Mitha...❤
Hey can u tell me what's the caste of dash surname in odisha
@@Sanshi202 well there are 2 of Dash that I know which are Brahmins & Baishnabs,
@@Sanshi202 Dash Surname belongs to Brahmin and Das belongs to Karan. But nowadays it is a bit difficult to find out a caste from a title because most of odia here change their title according to their choice.

Proud of you, Satyam. I’m from Cuttack and loved the way you presented Odisha food.
99.9% of food preparation between Bengal and Odisha are exactly same to same, just like twins.... Love from bengal... ami tomake valobasiii ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omg! Finally a Odia based video and that too with Satyam and Akshay. Loved seeing you two trying Odia dishes.
It's been like 6 month, and you got 1 million views, when you are coming to odisha ❤
In the South too we have the same dish they ate in the first one (rice in water and yogurt). In Telugu we call it Sadhi Annam and Tamizh we call it Pazhaya Soru. We mostly eat it with a side of onion and green chili. Best thing for those scorching hot days. So cool to see the cultural similarities.
hi anna
2 Telugu stats have this saddhi annam
Its like panta bhat in bengali
In Malayalam it's called pazhaya kanji or pazhangajee or kanjee Even in mandarin it's congee same pronounciation. We eat it with kidney beans, mango pickle, pappad. This is my fav combo but there are n number of things you can eat with it both veg and non veg, the tastiest combo is fermented rice with starch water and the last bit of hot fish curry from the clay pot .. pure divine..
Makes you sleepy af tho.
Guys FINALLY! This was much needed. Thankyou Satyam for this. And Akshay for being a sport in trying new dishes, you truly are a real foodie.
As an Indian Punjabi who lives in the states
It’s unfortunate to see underrepresentation of different Indian cuisines barring Punjabi and the South Indian
There is so much more to Indian Cuisine
Kudos to you guys for educating us about different cuisines across India
✨🙏🏻
Wah
Punjabi cuisine doesn't have much variety. Their world begins and ends with Paneer and chholey. Whereas the variety you'll find in Bengali cuisine is staggering!!
There are 10 different varieties of only veg Bengali dishes
@@vidisharoy3630 dal, chholey, paneer, palak, saron, paneer, chicken, mutton, freshwater fish, aalo, gobi, rajma, kadhi, panjiri, pinni many more. Way much bigger, famous and loved one.
@@shubhkarmanbawa2605 paneer is repeated twice😄
Plus Punjabis don't know how to eat fish. Sorry!! And even if you do how many fish preparations do you have? I can count you 20 different fish preparations in Bengali cuisine. And 20 more variety of veg preparations and vegan too
@@vidisharoy3630 maybe typing mistake😄 It is because you have marine coast, here it was majorly freshwater fish and had some dishes like Amritsari fish, Fish Tikka, Patiala Tawa fish
Wow brother I proud of you because you are showing our odia food
Satyam proves that he is pure Odia by eating dalma and rice with his hand❤
OmyGod!!! I have studied for three years in Odisha and this video hits all the nostalgic spots ❤️
And I absolutely agree with Satyam... Dahibara aloodum usi cycle Wale ke pass khade hokar khana padega... You won't get that taste anywhere else. Although I wished you included authentic odia gupchup too. One of the best I've ever had!!
Being an odia saying the explanation of each dish was way too exact, not just the cuisine but the talkativeness and behavioural appearance of odias he represented he just nailed it ❤❤
I'm watching this video by continuing my pakhalo 😊
Lots of love to you from odisha ❤❤
Being Odia even I struggled how do I translate body chakta in the beginning !! 😅. Pahala Rasalgola is Supreme !!! End of debate..... Kudos to you Satyam and OK Tested team to make this video possible and giving the much needed exposure to Odia cuisines. Loved it ❤ Jai Jagannath !!
