High tide, all you see is what you think is fog… until you realize it’s way too hot to be fog. You realize “it’s steam? But where is it coming from?” And suddenly the ground shakes as a herd of 120 speed Coalossals stampedes your way after escaping an encounter with the tide.
It took me way too long to realize the title was about crazy/wacky strategies, and not about strategies for fighting wild Pokemon or strategies that wild Pokemon use to fight you. Everything suddenly makes a lot more sense.
Shawn Hendrix I thought it was strategy’s wild Pokémon employ also wild Pokémon are so dumb they use moves that have no effect or just kill them selves or just attack with an attack you are immune to

I really hope that Steam Engine ability will be used in the anime. Sounds like a strategy Ash would use (Or a strategy that a more experienced trainer would use against Ash)
A strategy I like that was similar to some of the ones on here is Octolock and Contrary. During doubles you use octolock on a partner with contrary (works great with shuckle). Then the contrary Pokémon boosts their defense and special defense at the end of each turn. Plus if the octolock pokemon uses protect on the second turn your Pokémon gets plus 2 in defense and special defense

More videos like this would be brilliant, I've wanted to get into competitive for ages and it's awesome to hear my mon malamar has multiple viable options!
One I’ve found out is Alcremie + Gmax lapras Giving alcremie either Choice scarf (to speed up) Mental herb (to avoid taunt) or Focus sash (to not get one shot) and giving it Decorate, which increases attack and special attack. Maybe adding some more moves if you wish. Then make its partner Gmax lapras (gmax is necessary) and usually target the bigger threat on the opposing team with Its Gmax move, which triggers aurora veil (makes all damage taken halved). This means you have a bulky lapras with 2+ attack on both spec and phys (I go with special move set because you can give lapras ice beam for when dynamax runs out, and will o wisp is pretty popular right now so that’s something you can avoid) and taking half damage from moves, and every turn alcremie is alive it’s only getting stronger. Gmax lapras is legal in ranked, but still this is a amazing team for battle tower and casual. (I recommend putting a bulky ally switch, will o wisp, helping hand Dusclops in the back, so when alcremie eventually dies this can come in and ally switch to avoid damage to lapras, or use will o wisp to make physical attackers do even less, and maybe helping hand Incase lapras can’t finish off a bulky opposing mon.) Well, this partnership has gotten me a 17 win streak on casuals (along with my assault vest excadrill, Weakness policy togekiss, sitris gyarados, and my dusclops as I mentioned earlier.) Maybe mix up this team and add more if you feel like it, this is just what I’m using right now! Thanks for reading!
Funny thing is, I was using Coalossal to hatch eggs thinking it had flame body until I realized it was steam engine and couldn’t figure out why the eggs were still hatching so fast lol thanks for this
I wish he’d done more strategy videos. I fell victim to a Coallosal with that strategy, and would have probably dodged a loss if I had seen this video earlier.
My favorite strategy I’ve ever used was in fire red to level up my Pokémon towards the beginning. Using leech seed with Bulbasaur, and then immediately switching to an under leveled mon. Even if the can’t do much damage, the enemy is constantly losing hp anyways
The reason why I like Michael's vids so much is not only are they fun to watch but he also puts in more effort to put in the bonus of putting in subtitles
i love how you look around to make sure your parents aren't awake before deciding to change tone in the middle of your outro phrase, reminds me of when i would make videos on my 3ds.
I got a strat that can work in singles. you need Cinderace, Sticky Web and Defiant. you place your sticky web at the start, go into cinderace with Heavy duty boots boots (so your speed wont lower) use court change to put the sticky web on your side, then get your pokemon with defiant via switching or U turn, get a +2 attack boost for free, it'll work best with pokemon like bisharp that have priority or Falinks with no retreat.
For Coalossal is actually better to use Aqua Jet, because you don't want it to be hit by sandstream Dracovish or swiftswim Barraskewda ripping your Coalossal or losing the Policy due to Prankster Trick
I believe Aqua Jet Intelleon with 0 Attack IV's and EV's and an Attack lowering nature might be better than Surf Weavile, as it has priority and does less damage
It would definitely work well, especially with Coalossal's defence! Surf has the advantage of breaking opposing mon's focus sashes/sturdy effects as well, which he did not mention.
A strategy I look forward to testing out once the expansion packs release are Slow Start and Neutralizing Gas. Of course this only can work in a double battle, but basically Neutralizing Gas SHOULD nullify Regigigas' ability, thus utilizing it's potential. Now what I'm curious about is, once Weezing faints and it hasn't been 5 turns, whether or not Slow Start will activate then, or if it won't unless switched out.
That clip of Wolfey using the Trick Eject Button strat is legitimately one of my favorite SWSH clips ever. Yeah, the strat's not super practical, the video Wolfey uploaded literally just today demonstrates why pretty well (if your opponent catches on it's VERY easy to thwart the strat), but it is *funny as hell.*
