I had issues with my computer so I did a reset of the whole system. Little did I know that was going to put me in a world of inconvenience by messing up my ability to sample as I always have through Audacity. I tried everything and watched every youtube video on how to fix it but nothing worked. Then it just hit me that I should be able to sample straight to ableton an voila I found this video on my first search. Thank you for this tip, with it you just cleared up a headache that been constant over the past 5 months now! :)

I have a focusrite 2i2 soundcard. Inputs are traditional jack guitar cable. So what you describe does not work for me. Is it possible to do it with my soundcard ? Any hints would be appreciated.
@@stickdeck all my knobs were all the way up, I added a limiter to bring the volume up some more. Now im dealing with distortion lol. I’ll get it done lmao
The audio playback in Ableton is really low quality and speech is barely audible. A friend suggested RUclips compression could be the culprit and to just download the video as mp3 but this would be a much more efficient way if I could get it working
just use audacity to record audio straight in the computer without going to an outbound line, or use soundflower possibly (trying to figure that out). Audio hijack pro works for mac. I am trying to figure out how to record video + audio, high quality.. my phone can do it.

I have a Focusrite 8i6. The Mix Control software that comes with it has a loopback function that I use to record YT direct to Ableton.
You should consider using blackhole or soundflower virtual audio to bypass completely the sound card
