It's amazing how Underbelly is able to get his tutorials completed so quickly and comprehensively. More, you get stuff that other people shouldn't have left out in their 40 minute tutorials. Props alls around to this fantastic human and I hope all his help comes back to serve him. Thanks dude!
hellz yeah. Many tutorials get caught up on "what is a clip", and then whole tutorials about warp markers, etc. Underbelly hits the right spot with explainability and execution and shit, now I know how to sample and chop. Still boggling my mind with Maschine (lol). Nice to be able to follow along with my own sounds on Ableton after many years of frustration. Tough doing this sh on your own, cause I still suck. ;-P
+yousuckatproducing That is very true, but as someone who works in both there are strengths and weaknesses in both. I would score a film in Logic but not Ableton, but I would us Ableton for slicing and making beats. I could use Ableton for scoring but the inability- unless you know a way- to nudge for example among other things is an instant drawback. p.s nice tune with you and the flute player in the tunnel
I already know all this stuff but watching this has me reminded of how fun producing is since I haven't done it in a while. I like the way you explain it while keeping it simple and entertaining. I wish I had your videos to watch when I was learning all this. Good shit bro. Oh and feel free to stop saying swag. Lol
You're fuckin' hysterical. "I've got this MPC sampler cause, you know, I'm a G" so dope man. Wish I had your tutorials a while ago, I gotta send this to my buddies
I love these tutorials, the sass, the entertainment. It's what education should be all about, it's so much easier to learn something if you are entertained while doing it.
Just read through, the comments and seriously don't get what is up with people. Personally thought you have a great style of presentation and teach in a very entertaining way. Looking forward to more from you. Subscribed. Ignore the haterz ( I put z on the end to make myself sound a bit more hip, hope it worked )
Dude - you must do more of these tutorials. It's entertaining and you're talented. The views speak for themselves. Keep your content focused to what sticks and you'll be flying high my friend.
Dude just like your top comment by "Nadeem," I really thought your video was helpful, humorous, and entertaining. You might not know it, but you've got a natural gift to teach others through video. Your metaphor with cutting up the sample and Uncle Joe's salami was priceless. I'm going to go watch more now. Thanks.
I gotta say even though I would stretch that second sample and use complex on it so it doesnt sound jittery before chopping it you were straight to the point you didnt spend the first third of your video rambeling about your affiliations or some other bs that nobody cares about. Keep making videos like this. You have a knack for tuts.
Yeah man, good looking out with this video. I'm trying to learn how to expand my skills because i just started like two months ago. I've been watching countless RUclips videos ring to figure out how is done and none that I've watched has came close to this one.
This was the best tutorial I've ever seen on RUclips for anything. You were really knowledgable, informative, clear, and also funny but it wasn't over bearing and obnoxious. That's hard to find. Thank you! I'm gonna be referring to your channel for tips from now on
Thank you for providing these well-covered tutorials and doing it with such personality! I've learned more from watching your videos than I have in the past few years just from the fact that they're not dull!
Underbelly. How are you auditioning those slices? How are you scrubbing through your initial slice from the track? Right around 5:45? I can use the arrows to move through the slices but I don't "hear" anything. Also, you don't address what if Ableton doesn't interpret your tempo correctly and how to adjust for that.
I suck and already knew how to chop samples but I enjoyed your channel name and your G presentation style so I watched this and subscribed. Also, since I suck, I didn't know that super high value for money use of the stereo util so, mad props. Swag gratata.
I use Cakewalk by Bandlab (no money for paid DAWs) but what I watch in your videos are the FUNDAMENTAL knowledge you share and explain simply. (so lots of watch minutes for you YSAP)
Nobody's perfect... OK? Underbelly comes pretty damn close though! WOWZER! I love both your comedy and your tuition, even if I do suck, my taste in production content is top notch! 👌
hey I suck at producing.. at 1.31 when you hit warp.. there must be a preference setting to make Live guess the Seg.BPM. Mine just stay at whatever master tempo is.. cant figure it out... not swag. Can you help?
Thank you for this video, I am new to all of this, I just took the plunge and got a Launchpad S and a LaunchControl XL and I am really trying to learn this, I know I have the music in me, now I just got to figure out how to do it all. If possible can you do a video explaining how you do some of the simpler stuff, like expanding and contracting the wave form, what you click to set the markers. I know that people that know this are going to not care, but those of us out there that really want to know how to do it all would be grateful for it.
why do i not have the slice to midi track option in my menu when i right click? also i have like a real version but the basic one because software is expensive.
I definitely suck at producing. But thanks to this video, I won't suck at it for long. This video was awesome. How do you get the MPC preset? I want to use Live like an MPC. I have a launch key 25, Komplete 10, and Live 9. Help a brother out.
