Lori Holt would be so proud of Lisa's quilts! I've seen a few other people's Home Again blocks, but Lisa's are the most beautiful! I agree with others that your quilting is perfect for all the quilts. Nice job on progress on your Calico Garden and Sew Scrappy Spools quilts! Thanks, I really enjoy your weekly longarm finishes to see what other quilters are making.
Just want to add that I started sewing at a very young age then loved the quilting and I thought this is too much, I’m crazy. Then found out there were hundreds of people like me! And that they love it as much as I did. Now I feel like a normal human being.
I’ve watched enough of your videos to know you like for things to be “right” -- so, yes, unpick it and you will be much happier with it in the end. It’s very pretty.
Oh my, that quilt repeating Lori Holt's star throughout with only three fabrics is a stunner. The maker should really send Lori a photo of it. The quilting you did on it takes it to another level. Outstanding quilt. Right up my alley.
March 2024…catching up on your past presentations! Love all the work I see. Thanks for the details on each one. I always learn something. I also use a binder with plastic sleeves.
Well I’m upset at myself because for flag day I found a patriotic at WM and I just made a pillow cover for my pillow for the bench on my porch.( found a patriotic print at Walmart) looks very beautiful like the flag so that’s what I will have on my bench instead of hanging a flag. All your work is very amazing . All the blocks are beautiful. I made the butterflies and Tulips for my bench but the Stars and Stripes I had to honor our wonderful country. Thanks for sharing.
I like that you used the same brown fabric for each month in the Spools BOM sew along. I too like white on white to use as backgrounds. Oh my goodness, I love the Fox and trees baby quilt and the gray minky backing with driftwood quilting finishes it perfectly. The grandparents wall hangings or floor quilts for the new grandchild are a wonderful thing to do. As the child grows, it will be great for a tea party. They will be a hit at the baby shower❣️ I am enjoying binge watching some previous videos as I am a fairly new subscriber.
I love your videos so much. Thank you for the glimpses into your work! I sew look forward to them. I’d put the leaf in. But you do you friend! Can’t wait for the next video.
That would drive me Bananas! Unpuck it fix it! Love your custom quilting! I think it is custom!!! I love the background fabric of the twinkle, twinkle little star. Im trying to find it wow!!! I love that!!!
I asked the client for the name of the fabric and here is her response "the Scrappy, Scrappy Star was “Lower the Volume” by the Blank Quilting. Pattern 1947. SKU 1493648482. My local shop has it. Little Red Quilt House 234-248-4492,"
Good morning, I love your Calico Garden fruit block. I think you should put the missing leaf on the bottom of the bowl as if it has fallen off the fruit. That way, no picking out but you will have the piece on the block.
Good Morning! Love both of the quilts you are making. With the fruit basket block, I vote leave it as is. Mother nature is like that. I love that block. Enjoy seeing your clients quilt n agree the clam shell pantograph was perfect. Can't wait for next week's video.
Tammy, beautiful quilts and outstanding log arm quilting…thanks so much for the podcast…best wishes and happy stitching ❤❤as for the fruit basket, I would try try to work the leaf over the white and then stitch❤❤
Thanks for another great video. Loved the idea of a grandparent’s quilt. You, always, make such good choices for the pantograph pattern. I’m keeping up with my scrappy spools quilt-along, also. Thanks for letting us know about the sew along guide. It doesn’t seem so overwhelming following the schedule. Thank you, again, for your great videos.
Just found your channel it not too long ago and I’m loving all of it! As for the leaf and your fruit basket, once I see a ‘mistake’ regardless of how large or small, I can’t unsee it! My eyes would always go to that and I would regret not fixing it when I had the chance. I guess my OCD would prevent me from moving on. Either way your quilt will be absolutely amazing! 😊
Beautiful blocks and quilts this week, Tammie. I would be tempted to set the extra leaf in front of the fruit at a quirky angle (perhaps towards the lower left of the block) so that it looks like it is coming from the centre top of the fruit (circle). For me this would make me smile with fondness for my inadvertent mistake - 😊
Love the Lori Holt quilt. I would put the leaf into the piece, could you just fussy cut the leaf and then applique it down? You would see it I think. But it is your quilt. Love all the quilts for customers that were quilted they are so pretty, thank you for sharing.
Tammie I love your videos and your calming voice. I bet you were the best mom when your kids were little. I am a new quilter and enjoy your explanation of each quilt that you finish. I have the fabric I just need a pattern. Connie
I know I would regret not unpicking the fruits and inserting the leaf if it were my quilt. I think you will probably always wish you had done that if you don’t. It will never please you like it would if you fix it. At least you wouldn’t have a lot to unpick. I really loved Lisa’s quilts. Plus I had to get online and order one of the “grandparents” quilt panel. Loved everything Tammie. Thanks so much for sharing………………
I love your work....just found your channel. I am a Newbie to quilting and I am enjoying learning from all the experts. ❤ i like the idea of putting the leaf in as if it is falling from the others with a stem on it. That would be great.😊
I'm learning so much from you about choosing a pantograph that will compliment a quilt and I love to see what projects you are working on this week. BTW I just purchased that Lori Holt Book after seeing you refer to it a few times. You are right - it's a great book. I always look forward to watching another great video from you. 🙂👏
I enjoyed seeing the Baby / Grandparents quilt When my daughter and DIL had their first baby I of course made a baby quilt and then a “Mama” quilt. I thought it would be something they could cuddle up for those cold winter middle of the night feedings.
Beautiful long arm quilting!😊♥️ Especially love the last quilt with the clam shell quilting. Definitely want to finish a quilt that will look good with that quilting.
Great progress on Scrappy Spools--yes, I am a month behind too! Your progress on Calico Gardens is inspiring! I was afraid of this quilt, but seeing how you have broken it down with your organizational methods makes me think I might tackle it. I am ready for the upcoming Bee Vintage Quilt Along. MHO on the Basket is to "float" the leaf--applique it out into the background like it is in the process of coming off the fruit. I wouldn't unpick your beautiful work & take the chance of ruining it. Your client quilts are always awesome--love the fox!
You could just use a light-weight heat and bond on the back of the leaf fabric that you then cut to fit the space left instead of having to unpick and put the leaf under. Iron it on then just do the same stitch that you used on the rest of the fruit and leaves to go all the way around this leaf even next to the fruit. It won't have the turned edge like Lori's method does but it would get a leaf there and you won't notice after it's quilted. Or leave it and call it your Amish Humility block. Either way your quilt will be wonderful.
Beautiful quilts as always. On the fruit basket block, I personally would pull some stitches and put the leaf in. It would bother me if I didn’t I haven’t made any yet, but I really like the scrappy quilts in Lori Holt’s book.
If like me I’d always notice and my mild OCD would still bother me so, I’d unpick the circles and put the leaf underneath like you did the others. It won’t take that long and you’d like it better.
Hi, it's good to see your progress on Calico Garden, thanks for the update. I'm currently working on week thirteen, I was delayed a week or so recently from being unwell, but it will get done. Your quilt is looking great. I would unpick to make room for your leaf 🌿 that way you won't have to wonder "what if" every time you look at it... ❤
For the fruit basket....I would unpick it and add the leaf. Otherwise, your eye will always go there first when the quilt is complete. Of course, you could always just leave it off? I did not notice it was missing until you pointed it out? lol!
❤ the fox baby quilt. I also made Lori Holts Home again pattern this spring but haven't got backing yet. As always fun to see all the projects. Thanks again Tammie. Oh and I'd probably fix the leaf on calico. But Noone else would probably know if you left it and aren't quilts supposed to have one happy mistake?
On the leaf could you trim the leaf to “fit” the space where it goes and just stitch it down? Make it work. After it is all done, I don’t think it will matter. The quilt is beautiful.
I would add the leaf over the top like you showed. It looks fine and as folklore says “it reminds you we are not perfect. All of us flawed but redeemable”. The leaf missing altogether would be too much for my brain. Lol
Hi Tammie, as usual your quilts and your finished customer quilts are super! Very nice of you to wait to show the baby quilts so as not to spoil the surprise. As for the fruit basket's leaf, I would have to insert it into it's spot by snipping some stitches. If I know of a mistake or problem area, I need to make it right otherwise it is going to "bug me" forever unless I can come up with a suitable workaround. Great video as always.
I don't have a desire to wash fabric prior to quilting. It seems tedious to me. I do not understand how the process for creating wide backings would be different than other yardage, so I believe the shrinkage would be very similar to them. So personally I do not prewash and I have had no problems.
I would probably forge ahead and fix it because everytime you look at the quilt you will probably go right to it with your eye. At least that would bug me if it was mine.
Hahahaha-Get out your seam ripper! 😊 To me, the fruit basket block looks very UN-balanced with the leaf missing. It would only take a few minutes so I would have to fix it.
Just a heads up. As much as I love baby quilts, they are not allowed in the crib with baby to curtail infant death. These quilts are amazing on the floor during baby's tummy time
I realize it's long past time, but you don't have to unpick the whole thing - but just enough to stick that leaf in. Probably could be done before you have time to read all the comments.
Yes, you should unpick it because every time you look at it, you would see the error. People that don’t sew as well as you do will be quick to point out a mistake.
I would unpick because you will always see it if you try to fudge it now. It’s a pain but I say to myself “you know what the right thing to do is”. Just my opinion.

Really like the spool blocks! We have a lot of blue jays and they are so mean! Very pretty quilts!!!
They are not friendly neighbors. So pretty, but not friendly.
Just want to add that I started sewing at a very young age then loved the quilting and I thought this is too much, I’m crazy. Then found out there were hundreds of people like me! And that they love it as much as I did. Now I feel like a normal human being.
We're all in the same boat!
All very cute, so cute
I’ve watched enough of your videos to know you like for things to be “right” -- so, yes, unpick it and you will be much happier with it in the end. It’s very pretty.
I think you’re right Gloria! Thanks for your input!

I love it!
Love the hearts.
So pretty!
OMGeeee just gorgeous
My pleasure!

Good morning, I love your Calico Garden fruit block. I think you should put the missing leaf on the bottom of the bowl as if it has fallen off the fruit. That way, no picking out but you will have the piece on the block.

Thanks Lisa! After considering it, I don’t think it will be too bad to unstitch a small section and tuck it under. ☺️
I would add the leaf over the top like you showed. It looks fine and as folklore says “it reminds you we are not perfect. All of us flawed but redeemable”. The leaf missing altogether would be too much for my brain. Lol

Tammie, would you please add which batting you use to the quilt description? Thanks.
Hi Tammie, as usual your quilts and your finished customer quilts are super! Very nice of you to wait to show the baby quilts so as not to spoil the surprise. Thank Renita! I've decided to unpick the small section and tuck it under. Like you, it's going to bug me if I don't fix it somehow.
Question about wide-back backings. Would you prewash since I’ve read that wideback fabrics are stiffer, more shrinkage & s/b prewashed. Your thoughts?
I don't have a desire to wash fabric prior to quilting. It seems tedious to me. I do not understand how the process for creating wide backings would be different than other yardage, so I believe the shrinkage would be very similar to them. So personally I do not prewash and I have had no problems.
I would pull out the threads to sew in the leaf correctly. It would bother me forever if I did not correct the mistake.
Yes, going to have to. It's going to bug me!
Beautiful quilting! What type of batting did you use?
The Lori Holt quilts had 80/20 Quilter's Dream batting.
@@tammieearnest thanks
I would trim the leaf to fit around the circle and fix it. The applique will hide a raw edge.
You’re right but I think I’d always notice it! After considering, I’m planning on unstitching it. 😊
hi form mexico city i love the spool proyect what is the size of the block?
The finished blocks are 8 1/2 inch square.
@@tammieearnest thanks for your attention
Don’t repick unless it will bother u. If u want to put in. Sew on close and color with green maker. Lol
😂 That might work!
It would always bother me that I am missing that leaf. So I would pick out enough to slip the leaf under and restitch.
I think you’re right!
I would probably forge ahead and fix it because everytime you look at the quilt you will probably go right to it with your eye. At least that would bug me if it was mine.
You are right!
I would unpick your fruit and add the leaf. The quilt is so labor intensive and I personally could not leave it out.
That's the conclusion I've come to.
Leave out the mised leaf. 😂
Thanks for your input but I think I’ve decided to restitch it! 🤞
@@tammieearnest After taking another look, I would do the same!
Hahahaha-Get out your seam ripper! 😊 To me, the fruit basket block looks very UN-balanced with the leaf missing. It would only take a few minutes so I would have to fix it.
Just add the leaf on top next to the fruit
👍🏻
On your appliqué, just put the leaf there. Doesn't have to be perfect, but not having the leaf is too unbalanced. Jmho.
Thanks Jane.
Sew the leaf on like its falling away
The fruit leaf - unpick and fix it. . . You'll regret it if you don't 'fix' it because you know it is in error.
You are right!
Just a heads up. As much as I love baby quilts, they are not allowed in the crib with baby to curtail infant death. These quilts are amazing on the floor during baby's tummy time

Yes, you should unpick it because every time you look at it, you would see the error. People that don’t sew as well as you do will be quick to point out a mistake.
I think you’re right!
unpick
That sound bother me so I’m saying Unpick and place leaf underneath the circles.
I've decided to fix it!
Unpick the fruit as you will always say “I should have unpicked”
Leave it I like it better
Sorry, but think you should unpick; otherwise, you’ll notice the overlap :(.
I think you're right!
I would unpick because you will always see it if you try to fudge it now. It’s a pain but I say to myself “you know what the right thing to do is”. Just my opinion.
