i agree with you guys that he should do something different with the vocals in the beginning. but the reason it sounds so different is cause in the cd they have a microphone effect, or some other effect.
I am in total agreement. I have not heard a live version of this song where his vocals live up to the recording. I think he's so expressive on the CD and just screams and mumbles when he sings it live.

meh, the reason the vocals are not so great is because he doesn't seem to actually try to sing it right. theres no vocal effect in the recording, just lack of inhibition so he goes fairly patton with the growl stuff. not the case live.
