the guys screaming "destroyer" and " i'm not the only one" actually make it sound good, usually when you put the mic in the crowd it sounds like shit, but that was heavy as fuck!
lol, That it is. I'll tell you all what: Greg has some real talent to be able to scream as much as he does. On my way home from work I screamed teh vocals to "Panasonic Youth" and this song and I can barely speak now, lol.
I don't care if people think this music sucks. I know for a FACT, that the people who say this, don't understand music theory, and appreciate music soley on asthetics. Fair enough, no one is forcing you to like this.
That's not Joe, that's me. My name is Scott and I'm a long time friend of the band. Funny enough they added my then band Abeyance, onto a show with them out on Long Island, a month after this show at Virgin Megastore, while they were on tour with Trivium and The End. I think that's funny. though because this is in New York and Joe lived in Michigan at this point
When I first listened to DEP I was like "this is garbage" Then I saw them live, and it was a life altering experienced. After that, their music just clicked.
I seen this band on 12/12/09 with Thursday in St. Louis MO. It was one face melting experience. THE DILLINGER ESC PLAN.........................................Fucking epic, need i say more?
I hear the weird keyboard sounds that occur on the album version that sound kind of like orchestra instruments during the "love kills" part. But I want to know how they played those sounds when they don't have a keyboard player! Is the drummer listening to a click track through headphones or something and then those sounds just play at the right time?
i'm seeing dillinger in in a few months at Station 4. Gonna rock. But i swear... They WILL be 5 people there cuz there are not open minded in Minnesota. It's a real shame.
Consider the musical talent and innovation. Dillinger are something completely new, Meshuggah aside, taking the metal community by storm. What are Avenged Sevenfold doing? bringing glam back into style?
Do bands like that usually play in American record shops. In Poland (my country :/ ) there are no opportunities like that. I mean completely zero events take place in music stores.
@Zofti nah they never do really. Pretty sure this was for some tsunami benefit thing and some crazy man at this store got the idea of getting DEP to play there haha
i am on my friends account, this is some of the sweetest shit ever, and you only Really know if you've been right in front of that shit. hellllll yeeeeaaahhh!!!!
No. I read and Interview where he said he don't even clearly remembers that day. Except he was sick and hat to vomit shortly before or during (?) the show. Also this is like 20 years ago.
yah DEP go a little over the board sometimes with their songs. But this one is cool. I wish (although i know they wont kz they have said so) that they did more songs like unretrofied, setting fire... and some parts of this song too. some parts are listenable and still very different from main stream thats what i like about it.
When it comes to theory I think its inrelevant for this kind of music. What type of theoretical approach would you use to analyse this song? As far as Ive understood DEP is that they dont write music according to any theoretical systems. So why would anyone have to understand music theory (and on which level?) to appreciate this music? I happen to like this band, but it has nothing to do with my knowledge in musictheory. Best, Sandemose
i like how thy are playignext to the clasical music section. and while DEP sings sometimes, they aren't emo. scenesters only wish their emo bands were this talented.
I think that's the first time I've ever heard a crowd clapping in time. Ever. Suppose it makes sense that it should be a Dillinger crowd
Perfect place to stage these guys, next to the CLASSICAL and BOOKS section! LOL
I have not seen this video in approximately 17 years. Good to be reminded of Metal Injection.
the guys screaming "destroyer" and " i'm not the only one" actually make it sound good, usually when you put the mic in the crowd it sounds like shit, but that was heavy as fuck!
DESTROYER!
pretty sure thats josh scogin from the chariot, or at that time, norma jean
The kid screaming I'm not the only one perfectly compliments Greg right there, sounds AMAZING
There's a picture of Igor Stravinsky off to the left of the classical section. Looks like he approves ;)
DESTROYER! one of my favourite bits on any album i've ever heard. epic chord progressions. gorgeous music
lol, That it is. I'll tell you all what: Greg has some real talent to be able to scream as much as he does. On my way home from work I screamed teh vocals to "Panasonic Youth" and this song and I can barely speak now, lol.

There is nothing that will beat Greg's crowd run but at least give Ben's spaz out some credit.
Dillinger Escape Plan is my favorite band.
this is a different type of love song
this was an amazing show. free too. glad i made it.
i jizzed just a little bit at 2:15 lol the fans even added the "You're not the only one, I'm not the (DESTROYER) only one" synchronization love it
That's not Joe, that's me. My name is Scott and I'm a long time friend of the band. Funny enough they added my then band Abeyance, onto a show with them out on Long Island, a month after this show at Virgin Megastore, while they were on tour with Trivium and The End. Can't get enough of Weinman spazzing out at :28
love it!
They're all epileptics on a fit!!! ahahahah god i love this!
I like how the Classical section is right behind them. :)
awesome performance...amazing crowd...one of the best DEP compositions!!
gotta love dillinger if you really know what music is all about
oh man.. you can hear me in this. fun show. my favorite song off miss machine. im the obnoxious "yeahh!" before the song starts. hah..dear god.
Are you still listening to TDEP after all those years?
@@ding1r YES! and I'm gonna see them in Brooklyn this year!!
His new band, better lovers is amazing too!
When I first listened to DEP I was like "this is garbage" Then I saw them live, and it was a life altering experienced. After that, their music just clicked.
if these guys toured with the fall of troy, that would be like my dream concert.
Same
I seen this band on 12/12/09 with Thursday in St. Louis MO. It was one face melting experience.

It's not a Virgin Megastore anymore...for surely DEP impregnated it.

You're not the only one, I'm not the only one.
DESTROYER.
Fucking badass.
Really nice audio on this clip.
I respect that! maybe if they put out an instrumental album?
WOW !
yay.
Can you imagine walking in here having no idea this is going on and wanting to buy a book or something. I think i'd piss myself and leave haha.
yeeahhhhrrghghshdshdh!!! ... i have such an obnoxious scream in the beginning.. lol..
fucking epic... this was an amazing show.
0:49 greg sass :)
lmao at the guys face who was standing at the classical section at 1:35
Go for it
does anyone know where i can find CD or vinyl of Brian's old band Jesuit?
@billylikenoodles Woah, I never noticed that. That may very well be!
Lol, did you go to the 9:30 club in DC for that concert? I was there too.
This seem so tame in comparison to when I saw them!
saw them in astoria 2. this song at the end was fuckin amazing!
I hear the weird keyboard sounds that occur on the album version that sound kind of like orchestra instruments during the "love kills" part. But I want to know how they played those sounds when they don't have a keyboard player! Is the drummer listening to a click track through headphones or something and then those sounds just play at the right time?
interlude's my favorite part.
@uniballpenman and the 'books' section above the drummer
hahahah, @ the very end "..please buy a wristband.."
what a polite intro
i can't hear the sweeps they utilize in the beginning of the song! did they just not play it?
now THIS is hardcore
i'm seeing dillinger in in a few months at Station 4. Gonna rock. But i swear... They WILL be 5 people there cuz there are not open minded in Minnesota. It's a real shame.
Before Denny’s we had…Barnes and Noble?
is that john from candiria standing off the side of the stage by ben(bens side I mean)
Fucking amazing.
Consider the musical talent and innovation. Dillinger are something completely new, Meshuggah aside, taking the metal community by storm. What are Avenged Sevenfold doing? bringing glam back into style?

0:29 Do I smell a new GIF in the making?
I like how tags for this video include: Britney Spears Swamplord Jani Lane Blow Job
@Zofti nah they never do really. Pretty sure this was for some tsunami benefit thing and some crazy man at this store got the idea of getting DEP to play there haha
Nice I just barely got a B because I was the only metalhead and the teacher hated me for that.
Try the album version, hear the song with some clarity.
This woulda been fuckin awesome to be at
You first.
what kind of band play in store?
i am on my friends account, this is some of the sweetest shit ever, and you only Really know if you've been right in front of that shit. hellllll yeeeeaaahhh!!!!
lol yeah that is great!
Thier new album ire works is different...but still good.Revolver gave it a 5/5!
this is a band we have to see more off, DEP come to Sweden!
Better than the studio recording..
I heard he was inspired to crowd-run in remembrance of a friend who died in a Tsunami
?
No. I read and Interview where he said he don't even clearly remembers that day. Except he was sick and hat to vomit shortly before or during (?) the show. Also this is like 20 years ago.

lol...dude you rule your own world....
I don't know why but I lol'd uncontrolably to this comment.
Also, DEP fucking owns.
When it comes to theory I think its inrelevant for this kind of music. What type of theoretical approach would you use to analyse this song? @dinkyplayer2
I was gonna say the same thing but you beat me to it. Its like he went into a seizure or something lol
long live underground music
AGREED.
Where's the Mike Patton props?
Greg used to put a lot more body into his voice here, at least compared to his performances current day
The Sloth. He was 9 years younger too.
+Michel actually even older than that. This is from the Miss Machine Tour
FUCKING LOVE IT, dep is truth
i first heard this song back in like 06 high out of my mind in a mitsubishi eclipse and i was done

I just wanted classical and books
i like how thy are playignext to the clasical music section.
and while DEP sings sometimes, they aren't emo. scenesters only wish their emo bands were this talented.
Did not know Daniel Bryan was the vocalist for DEP
DEP are awesome. Botch kickass.
anyone who knows anything about time signatures and compound meter would know that this band is absolutely sick.
