Loved this tour. The best thing about walking through Fairchild is that one is going on an adventure. One feels like a plant explorer discovering all kinds of new wonderous plants. Surely that must be how David Fairchild felt when setting out in his journeys to far off places in search of specimens to bring back. I'm glad Fairchild has preserved his dreams and added to them.
The palm referred to as the Window Pane Palm is actually a Reinhardtia (probably gracilis). Beccariophoenix fenestralis is the Giant Window Pane Palm from Madagascar and is a very large palm.
It's funny I've learned more about geography from gardening and botanical shows. Lol. New Caledonia? I had to look that one up. The conifers are just beautiful in these last two episodes😍 Thanks Summer🥰
Plants are simply amazing in their variety! These tours are nicely paced, filmed well and informative…and a Dale Chilhuily sculpture?! Nice! Big thanks to you both 🤗🌿🌱
Thank you for taking tours!!! I have a special needs son and just about everyplace in SoCal you have to pick a day and time to visit any park & I am not able to know when it’s going to be a good day! So this really makes me happy! I wake up early to enjoy quiet time & your videos 🥰🪴💚

Aaron I right. I live in NW Florida and can not get verbena to flower in the summer but in the fall, winter and spring. It doesn’t cool off at night enough for them, or Supertunias for that matter!
Hey summer nice episode, i've seen a fieldtrip videos by Patric blanc on youtube where he did tracking in a habitat and looked for plants in the nature and then described it, it's really facinating and would be cooler if you kindly did the same in your neighborhood forest or something.
Pest management, do you know how they control the pests in the conservatory? I could imagine if the pests got out of control it would be a nightmare, potentially losing many plants.❄️💚🙃
Gingers are so underrated and beautiful.
My favourite videos are always at Fairchild with Chad. So knowledgeable and truly passionate. Thank you for sharing with us 🌿

The palm that has the windows is reinhadia gracillis . They have a couple palms that have the windows and the one you put in is the most popular

The empty wall can be a great place to have an Epipremnun aureum

You should do a Heliconia episode
Amazing. I was wondering if the climbing neon like plant on the left inside the last conservatory is a Neon Pothos with huge leaves.
Will there be one done on Singapore Botanic Gardens or Gardens by the Bay?
This makes houseplant look like side chick.
❤😊
So if you keep your plants at 55 degrees they will survive and thrive? ❄️💚🙃
They will survive but not thrive. Their growth would slow down substantially.
Pest management, do you know how they control the pests in the conservatory? I could imagine if the pests got out of control it would be a nightmare, potentially losing many plants.❄️💚🙃
I think they only use beneficial insects to fight against the bad pest. I can't imagine they use any pesticide in the conservatory.
❤😊❤
that giant multi-colored deco is weird
So much background noise 😢!
background noise reduction would be so much appreciated
