Terry for me he is the funniest I have ever encountered. I live his wit, cultural knowledge, variety, self depreciation, and scandalous originality. I wish I had known him. What a magnificent life of making people happy.
As an American, I'm so grateful RUclips exists because I would be cheated out of seeing such comic legends like Mr. Humphreys. People in Europe were blessed to have this man making them laugh for so many years. I was so sad when I heard of his passing. Bless his soul.❤
Apart from being a dear character in life to his family and those who knew him personally, Barry Humpheries was a comedic genius and he will leave an enormous wave of humour in his wake. Wishing nothing but a peaceful transition for this dear man who was loved by King and Commoner alike.

So glad they allowed us to comment on him. He is a distant memory, when I was growing up as a kid I found him hilarious and being SO young it makes you wonder how he could convey his comedy and make you laugh EVEN when you were a child. It's like a dagger in your heart when we lost him and all of the comedy greats dying is a piece of earths will to do, that dies.
He will never be forgotten and his mantle will remain on fire for eternity.

I always think of my late Uncle Arthur when I see Barry Humphries. He had the same kind
of humour, used to write silly stories and perform them down at the pub, and dress the part
too. Sadly he died back in 1982 but I always think of him when I see Barry performing as he
alter ego Dame Edna and Sir Les Patterson. Sadly missed r.i.p Barry.
One of a kind..Saw him onstage only once..And I'm Australian...The boundaries of of comedy were always broken with his comedy..But it was never offensive,as he did it lovingly,and in GOOD humor,with satiric brilliance..(In my opinion)

Why is Eamon Holmes on GB News? Whatever they are paying him it is too much. He should be back on This Morning and isn’t Ruth wonderful. They should both be on This Morning and their interviews with Barry Humphries should be broadcast every morning. Mr Humphries was just incomparable a true comic genius.

I find this so strange as he was one of the Royals favourites. Or was it because he was a 'Dame' already? Said tongue in cheek.
He was too 'unconventional' I guess, and at least 30 years ahead of everyone else.

Although we've lost Humphreys, at least we know for sure that while alive he took his fair share of gynecological exams with high approval results from his array of gynecologists the world over. Weirdly he never mentioned any proctology exams. Well, you can't win them all.

Carried him?!! Australians disowned him and hated him for a long portion of his career. It was in England and the US that he flourished and became as big as he did.
Australia, shut their doors and wouldn’t allow him back in. As indeed, they didn’t let anyone out to attend family funerals. Cross borders to go and get life saving treatment.
