The saddest thing watching this is Barry clearly still had so much life in him. One unlucky fall and it all changed. Still he was sharp as a tack to the very end. RIP and thanks for the laughs.
A wonderful, brilliant, interesting, and funny man. My heart is still broken and miss him so much. The world is a sadder place without him in it. Rest in Peace Dear Sir. You will not be forgotten.
What makes his death so sad is that up to the end he was still genuinely funny and a sparkling wit. I think he at last found being Barry Humphries as enjoyable as his alter egos.
Really going to miss this chap. Kept us laughing for many generations and for generations to come. There won’t ever be another Barry Humphries! Thank you for the laughs! 🥹
Barry was a dear friend of mine on My Space years ago. This is Teresa Cotter (Loomer) we talked on an almost nightly bases when he lived in LA. This was over 20 years ago so a long time ago. He was very hard on himself and swore at the time he'd never find true love he kept telling me he was too old I lost touch with him years ago after moving to Montana from California. I never met him in person and at the time I'd never seen him as a man he told me " oh you want to see me as a man you're in for a treat" lol. He wasn't transphobic he just wasn't trans. Yes he said things that I personally agree with about Kaitlyn Jenner but I promise he was the most genuine caring generous human I know and I'm thankful I got to know him he was a great friend when I didn't really have any true friends. I was in a very abusive relationship at the time and thought there was no way out. He has done so much for the LGBTQ community I'll always remember that
What a giant, I 'believed' Dame Edna was a genuine person! Sir Les I loved because he blended elements of classic stage Vaudeville with modern outrageousness--for example, Sir Les's demo of a prostate exam to David Ginola--so funny, so memorable! It's impressive too that meek, shy, modest Miss Edna May Beasley, later Mrs. Norman Everage, an Everage Australian Housewife of the 1950s and 60s, emerged finally as the exuberant Dame Edna... who discussed her dysfunctional family yet met and 'interviewed' for our pleasure, almost every megastar of our lifetimes from Cher to Zsa Zsa, Ms. Bacall, Gloria Swanson, Liza Minelli, Joan Rivers and so, so many others. We felt Edna and Les were real people--but it was you all along Barry... RIP
I got to see the show in 2022 and Barry was amazing, so much wit/humour and so knowledgeable on so many subjects. He kept me laughing from beginning to end and the Zoom's of Dame Edna & Sir Les was so funny and entertaining. He did say at the end of the show, that Edna had not retired, but would be back. Unfortunately that never happened, but so honoured to have seen him and the brilliant mind, wit and humour he had. I'm still sad on his passing, as there will never be another person like the Great Barry Humphries.
Im so tired of finding this clip randomly online as "Guy congratulates wrong host" as if "LEGENDARY COMIC BARRY HUMPHRIES" isnt written right there. He knew EXACTL what he was doing.
As I write, This Morning is receiving a lot of brickbats over the Phillip Schofield scandal, and about the hostile atmosphere believed to exist behind camera, but whoever's indifference it was to allow an unaware and usually dapper 88 year old to walk in front of camera, with bits of tissue stuck to his neck, still there from makeup, should be ashamed. They just don't care, do they........?
Perhaps , but Barry , with his generosity , and razor sharp wit , wouldn't let it bother him . As he would say something . As I have seen in previous interviews , when he has definitely called a spade a spade . I find the two presenters a bit over excitable .
@@indigocheetah4172 How does Barry's gentlemanly manner excuse a tv production team, that leaves an 88 year old with bits of tissue still around his neck, which he evidently didn't know about. At 88, they could have looked after him better than that...........
We lost several people when Barry left us. What an amazing talent.
The perfect comment, thank you :-)
I hadn’t thought of his passing that way but you’re right. It’s actually a loss of 3 massive personalities.
I would say madam are you laying eggs right now when she was laughing like
He was a cool cat. Was l justa nice nice man. Rest in peace Dame Edna Evereçdge
Never thought of it that way, but you are exactly right!

Oh YES,, How poignant .. A Wonderful observation,, Thank You ,,,
Well said
What a terrible loss. A true genius. His timing with Dermott is perfect.
Glad you uploaded this. Was wanting to see the full interview. RIP Mr. Humphries... best of the best.
Oh, for the days when we could laugh at ourselves and each other. God rest you, Barry.
God bless you Barry Humphries, you are missed. You are a legend

The biggest laugh in the history of that show; and, of course, it comes from the legend, Barry. 👏
It's difficult to accept that we'll never hear "Possums!" with such verve, from Dame Edna, again. :(
Barry Humphries, r.i.p.
Dear Barry, you will always be alive in our hearts. Cant wait to see the tribute shows that Sydney and the UK will put on soon.
Surely the most quick witted of all the great comedians and we do miss his total disregard for political correctness. RIP Barry
Nobody can make laugh as Barry Humpries, aka the Dame. What a talented individual. Rest in Peace.
He’s truly my favorite comedian and dearly miss him 😢. Glad we have these videos to watch over and over in time for much laughter. RIP Barry
Oh, how I loved Dame Edna! He/she will be so greatly missed. He was a genius.
It's so sad to see this master in comedy after his unfortunate passing.
thanks for this, a little ray of light in an ever darkening world

What a great and wonderfully talented man he was. We lost not only Barry, but Enda and the gross Less Patterson and Sandy.
RIP Barry, wonderful 🙏 human being ❤
Hi 👋
The fact that he had to explain the joke about the seats for a £1 not being inside the theatre is hilarious. Very quick with his words 😁
As A Massive fan Of The Late Barry Humphries This has to be one of my Favourite a d Funniest Interviews from The Icon of Comedy

@@groovydonkey It's nice to know someone else still cares like I do.
A humongous loss, as we live in an upside-down crazy world these days, and need humor more than ever. RIP brilliant Barry!
Easily one of the Top Ten Funniest people of all time. So sharp and witty. Xx
Your bravery!
Omg! I thought she was gonna DIE laughing! Love love love. 🙏🏾💜
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Love Barry. RIP. Makes me happy watching Barry. His jokes were hilarious!
Sir Les was a work of genius.
Perfect timing :) thanks for sharing
“Living in the moment”, those were the key watch words of this genius. Certainly any of his characters were imbued with this philosophy.
Im so tired of finding this clip randomly online as "Guy congratulates wrong host" as if "LEGENDARY COMIC BARRY HUMPHRIES" isnt written right there. He knew EXACTL what he was doing.
What an amazing actor is Barry! When I look at Barry I don't see Edna or Les at all! Huge love from Florida USA!!😊
She seems like a genuine person
Heart-breaking to see him still sharp and on good form here, yet knowing he would leave us in less than a year.... life really is short 😔
Rest in peace barry humphreys aka dame edna you were a legend
Can we take a moment to take in the courage and bravery of Dermot
This is awesome.
It must be a kind of consolation for a wonderful chap like Barry, that even after death, you will certainly live on and on and on, on RUclips! 😅
Whenever I need a pick me up, I watch this clip.
Legend
It worries me when a an entertaining and funny person leaves this earth, we don’t have that many left.
Brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂He will be well missed😩😩
The Man Behind The Mask- a very funny man at that!
Amazing!
Alison’s laugh 😂
3:17 here's the famous/infamous segment.
Strictly it's not funny, but few heterosexual men are ok with being mistaken for being homosexual
Barry knew what he was doing 3:28 😂😂😂
He and Edna are still sooooo popular as they will always be…
Andre
RIP Barry, Les & Dame Edna
Dermot played the straight man very well here, ironically.
That’s Bruce the Shark 🦈
Dermott really fell for that, didn't he? Barry Humphries was genius.
Did he perform any of these shows before he dead?
Who is the female host?
Alison Hammond
Funny Philip hid from Barry , Barry called him out a few years back .
Allison 😅😅😅
Rip Bruce 🦈
Press '4' on the keyboard over and over and over - if you dare 😆
Sadly Barry humphries is no longer with us he’s died on the same day as Len Goodman
So I believe this 2022 this morning interview is definitely the last appearance for Barry before he passed away a year later
Barry's amazing digging at two fakes
😂😊😉😉😍😍🥰 ❤ 🥰😍😍😂😊😉😉

I think i know partially why edna was successful. Because his natural behaviour has a great overlap the edna presence.
Comedy giant, a genuinely funny and very clever man.
Huge loss.
dear Barry we lost a real star when they went him and his alter egos
The people who need to be cancelled are the people who cancel. How sick is that? His make up men should have taken the shields off. Fg twts.
Just cannot handle that birds false laugh..
I disagree, but that's my view
Shouldn't she be asking their guest questions . I thought she was over the top with her raucous laughing .
@@indigocheetah4172 I think she thinks she's the star....
@@laurencehyde2168 , absolutely, she does too. I cannot watch this type of show . Only because Barry Humphries was on.
that lady doesn't sound to healthy when she laughs!!😂😂
So much fake laughter and bonhomie from the hosts. Cringeful.
Who is that awful cackling woman, horrible. The hosts are completely out of their depth. RIP Edna
She is Alison Hammond... The Mark Henry of the UK
It was truly hilarious him congratulating the wrong man for coming out 😂😂😂
That woman's laughter is a problem
So sad
R.I.P.
And keep them laughing up there!!
He is referring to dermutts always bringing children into the studio after hours
