We had a favorite restaurant in when we lived in WI that served a wonderful Rasta Past. My wife and I loved it so when I saw your video I knew I had to try it. Made it with Jerk Chicken and it did not disappoint. Great recipe, we will be making this one again. 👍
hey man, just wanted to say i really enjoyed your video. and think i will be giving this a try as the ingredients are so super cheap. i love that about dishes from countries that have to struggle, (not the struggling, that would be cruel) but that their dishes are often working man's food, delicious and flavorful and CHEAP. and i saw this all over latin america as i was an anthropologist/linguist in various countries for years. above all, it's clear you're a spicy fan, as am i, so i feel like we have some kindred spirits going on. i could tell as you were cooking that the *most* important ingredient was on display: your LOVE for the dishes you make. thanks a lot, man. and i will definitely be checking out your other dishes. i actually clicked on this one because i saw on the cooking channel this woman from NYC who runs a Jamaican restaurant, she won, by a LANDSLIDE with her rasta pasta, and spoke about how much it meant to her while she was growing up, and just culturally in general. definitely gonna go with all the non spicy peppers you used, but also a scotch bonnet and a jalapeño ;) you know..... haha. take care brother. will be using your channel quite a bit, methinks.
@@ChiliPepperMadness i subbed and liked, by the way. keep it up, dude. i think you have what it takes to get enough viewers in order to a solid paycheck. no joke. work hard and keep putting all that love for your dishes on display (btw, the lady i saw on the cooking network actually used ketchup for the sauce so spicy/sweet going on, as well as cut up hot dogs, no idea if you've tried those out) take care!
Saw this video yesterday right before I was leaving for the store, so I picked up the ingredients. Even made my own jerk seasoning per your recipe. It was incredible! The smell alone while it was cooking was amazing! Another home run recipe that I will be using often.
We Jamaicans don’t cook Rasta pasta like this. We use penne pasta & we don’t use tinned tomatoes. Jerk seasoning is usually wet not a dry rub. Other than that I loved your knowledge on Rastafarianism.
Penne pasta is used more often and I see it way more. I used longer noodles to harken back to the original, hence the story. This is all mentioned in the actual recipe post online. Tinned tomatoes are a great alternative for those without access to fresh tomatoes easily, though fresh is great of course! Wet or dry rubs work great as well for seasoning. Enjoy your Rasta Pasta!
