Thanks John! I have surprisingly never tried Catfish, but maybe next time I’ll bring some proper equipment to harvest them. And those “Delmarva” Sculpin are really cool. Out of all the Sculpin species I’ve caught so far, Delmarva have been the pickiest when it comes to eating in my experience
@@TheVilleOutdoors I had much bigger issues trying to land a Potomac sculpin out in Western MD. I could get them to bite but failed to get good hook sets. As a note the species that we would catch out in Missouri are way more aggressive and more abundant than the ones around here. Not uncommon to have three or more sculpin come way beyond the cover to get a small microjig bouncing near the bottom.
@@johnaufderheide6117 I had that issue with Potomac Sculpin at first in my video “Fishing The Upper Gunpowder” I was using size 30 fly hooks and kept missing the “hookset” on all the tiny Potomac Sculpin. Then I switched back to my usual Tanago hooks and caught a half dozen of them. I hope to travel around and catch/observe the other members of the Cottus genus someday. Sculpins are some of my favorite freshwater fish.
@@TheVilleOutdoors they are favorites of ours as well. We tried last summer to catch some marine species up in the NE but no luck. We need to go back again. I really want to catch some of the large species.
Nice blue catfish. They are a decent fish to eat. Love those Delmarva sculpin. Love catching those guys.
