  • The former chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng was a leading Brexiteer, describing it a few years ago as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Since being sacked by his friend, the then prime minister Liz Truss, he's kept a low profile.

Your true enemies do not look like Mr K - the attack on him and PM Truss was an attack on the poor and the middle classes.
Also it seems many haven’t read the book both of them wrote.
He is also correct that the interest rate rises has ZERO to do with his budget.
The reporter here is typical Channel 4 - insulting the intelligence of the misinformed and the ignorant.
Many will never understand what they lost when that right-on-the-money budget was shut down. In reality, the budget wasn’t even aggressive enough 🤷‍♂️
Anyways, people like me (council estate black dude coming up strong despite structural hostilities) will be fine - my salary has more than doubled since the mini budget, taxes into the five digits and still building a couple of businesses on the side 🤷‍♂️
I advise K to leave pathetic British politics and make his way and fortune in the private sector.
British voters are too stupid to exercise their democratic rights for the betterment of the country. They’re also here making jokes and pointing fingers, while being teed up to suffer unprecedented economic harm 🤷‍♂️
Kwasi was on the money with his budget - those not seeing and understanding it will be very easy to spot over the coming 18-24 months 👈

You shouldn’t feel personally guilty no, but we should all feel the weight of our cultural history and ensure that we all learn from it and strive to not to allow the same mistakes to happen in the present and future. Just like Germans shouldn’t feel individual guilt for the Nazis but as a part of their cultural history they should as a nation strive to be leaders in promoting action to ensure the world never sees the like of such things again.

It's time there was a household wealth cap for political candidates and MPs set at £10 million to include property, investments and trusts.
Political candidates and MPs with wealth above the wealth cap would cease to be eligible to become or remain as MPs.
A household wealth cap for political candidates and MPs would mean MPs would better represent the majority of constitutents and reduce political oligarchy.
MPs with ownership of multiple properties and those MPs eho are landlords should bd banned from voting on housing related issues due to conflict of interest.
A referendum could determine the amount of the household wealth cap for political candidates and MPs.

I asked my mother to fix her mortgage for 5 years in July 2021 - she still mentions my “genius” today 😂
Most of these people here are gullible and clueless but also arrogant - they need someone to blame for their failings and shortcomings.
Kwarteng and Liz proposed a very good budget - in my view not even aggressive enough. A coordinated slight of hand was used by the BoE to make market interventions they were already planning (literally proposed SIX WHOLE WEEKS before the budget) in order to “calm markets” and rectify their prior inaction.
My salary has doubled since that mini-budget (deliberate objective of mine) but thanks to Sunak and Hunt my taxes are also out of control (five digits).
My next move is to emigrate - the UK is on the wrong path economically - lacking competitiveness and a smart enough voting base.
It’s everyone for himself now as the most vulnerable and gullible many who would not have read the book Kwarteng and Truss wrote - will be faced with unprecedented economic harm.
The attack on Brexit was a strong clue. The attack on the mini-budget removes all doubt - the British population prefer and insist on facing harsh economic times 🤷‍♂️
