And their latest posted videos are all about Elon Musk, Tesla, bitcoin and ethereum. So might wanna update you're credentials just in case.

It’s reviews like this that makes your channel stand out. Unironically, it really is your writing that is your defining feature throughout your channel from TWIG to game reviews.
Your reviews are always on a different level than so many others. You pay attention to the details usually glossed over and are able to convey things so elegantly. I can tell you put a lot of thought into this and I really appreciate . Thank you!
I love your reviews for two main reasons: 1. Like Matty said, you speak your mind and I can always trust it will be an honest review; and 2. Your reviews sound like a high end art critic by day and nerdy gamer by night. I love it, don't ever stop being you, my good sir!
I generally really enjoy these shorter games that cut out all the bloat and bs, and just deliver a lean clean experience. I'm looking forward to giving this a little whirl.
That was really my problem with Ghost of Tsushima. There’s so much bloat in that game that I got tired of playing it even though I was initially enjoying myself. Trip to Yoma looks like the game I wish Ghosts was.
Let me just say that Skill ups review of the gameplay is really understated in my opinion. I literally thought my game was broken for the first twenty minutes and almost reinstalled it. Combat is beyond horrible and IMO it's pretty unenjoyable.
@@csafko1 right. I was wondering about that. I personally think anything else this game excels at cannot save this game from it's terrible combat. That means 20 usd for 3 hours of terrible experience.

this is truly an excellent review, with well coalesced thoughts - the analogy to the View Master is apt, and really helped me get an idea of how I’ll relate to Yomi. Skill Up you’re awesome man, a stellar example of fine games journalism. thank you!
I’m constantly amazed by how you express your opinions in ways that reflect all the complexities of a game whilst making them so natural to listen to and understand. I see you as less of a reviewer of games, and more of a translator, giving us a feel of what the game made you feel in bite size form, and that’s the most helpful thing when deciding if a game’s for me. I don’t often comment but I want you to know how much I, and i’m sure many others, appreciate that. keep it up :)
Okay I might look at the game, whatever. But can we talk about how well done this review is? The music, the transitions and the always smart writing. Fantastic job guys!!!
+1 I'm not particularly interested in the game itself, but I still watched the whole video just because of the reasons you mentioned. I mean, I think I've watched every SU video completely since I found the channel... 2 years ago? But this one is among the best no doubt
I love it that the tone and feel of this review matches the kinda meditative beauty of Trek to Yomi. Absolutely love it. Great job Ralph, great job Austin!
8:59 soon as I started thinking why isn't he talking about the gameplay. He answered my question. This is the type of self awareness that's need in game journalism. Nice job as always Skill Up 👍👍
I felt like he buried the lead, that I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and it took away from the entertainment for me. I'm glad it worked for you, maybe it was just me
Man I love these kinds of reviews from you. The soft spoken and articulate critiques on games as art is so good. Videos like the Warframe Master Stroke and this are why I'll always come back.
With every review I see that my name is further down the list of patreons and I'm glad that you're getting more subscribers. Fantastic work as always Ralph
I appreciate your use of tactical pauses during the actual voice-over of the script throughout the review. It was a nice use of speech as a method to emulate the visual reference you used of the personal projector. I liked how you would deliver several thoughts on a specific element, pause to let the message sit in the listeners mind and then show the audience an aspect of gameplay relating to those previous statements. Quality as ever, boss.
Absolutely wonderful, Ralph. Your reviews keep on going from strength to strength that it's simply amazing seeing this consistent level of quality for each review. Also, excellent job from your editor as well. It's so rare for me to see this level of quality from a video game review. As for the game, The art direction and story are enough to make me want to try it. Keep being amazing, Ralph.
There’s a reason I constantly recommend your videos to everyone who likes games as a media. Your reviews are always in the highlights of my day. Probably picking this game up
You already know that you're the best gaming channel on youtube. Specifically however, I'd like to compliment you on your very thoughtful and nuanced scripts for these reviews. It's clear that you approach each of these deliberately, and with great care and consideration. You rock!
Another amazing review, the editing and the narration are on point, I was waiting for this game mostly for the feeling and aesthetics, I'm glad it does well on that. I can be forgiven in the gameplay if the other aspects are handle properly.
Big boats, viewmasters, always something from out of left field in a Skill-Up review. Sad to hear about the combat shortcomings. Will have to wait and see if they tighten that up a bit before I buy
What a beautiful review SkillUp, the music, the pictures, the script, the editing from Austin it was truly a enjoyment to watch and hear, i bow before the master, Thank you.

Your script is on point as always, but the presentation and editing on this one were magnificent. Congratulations to you and your editor, because this one not only is an amazing analysis but the choices made emphasize the message you wanted to pass.
I know that this will be a pretentious statement but something I love about SkillUp's reviews is that they aren't just some guy talking for 20 minutes, they try to be as artistically poignant and meaningful as they games they discuss and critique. A part of me really appreciates that; video games, even the most worthless ones, represent a culmination of effort and hard work that often gets brushed over, and the beautiful thing about Skill Up's reviews is that they often feel like they are trying to respect that effort and care. And I think this philosophy towards criticism shines brightest when he talks about games like this; relatively small games with their own artistic niche and identity, but still deserve to make waves and have a cultural impact.
You are by far THE BEST reviewer in the gaming sphere. Its clear that you take part of the essence of a game and translate it into the scripting and editing (You're awesome too). Keep up the superb job!
I do not know what it is about your reviews, but I always really love them. Even when I disagree when it comes to the game you are review that I have played. I think there were one or two of them that I disagreed with, but I can not remember which ones they were. But I think that is the best part. Your review's are your experiences with the game you are playing, and does not ever com across as super harsh, or making me feel bad about liking something that you don't.....
4:48 reminds me so much of The Lighthouse, where the director Robert Eggers chose the right set design, lighting and wardobe to help the black and white aesthetic than just throwing on a filter in editing and calling it a day.
So, TWIVG is available as a podcast but Austin's video editing goes such a long to wait to making SkillUp's videos shine that I'd feel like I would be missing out on something so key to the experience if I just listened to content; this video epitomises that belief. Top class work, Austin, truly S tier stuff.
I'm at a point in my life where I prefer the use of classical tropes and the understanding of the hero's journey before anything else. Glad to know this does that in its narrative/storytelling methods!
The game turned out exactly how I thought it would. The trailers focused so much on the aesthetic and skimped over the gameplay. I've got a shitton of games to play right now.
