    Great review! They added a magnetic tailcap and 3000k and 4000k tint options for the new batches so I had to order one in 4000k, seems like an absolute steal.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  5 лет назад +3

      Dam if they added the tail cap i think at this price they made a hard to beat deal. il pin your comment so people know you can get the mag base now. Cheers for the info.

      May I know is it 4000k is better than 5000k? I'm new to led flashlight.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  4 года назад +1

      @@najibnajiyama hi, the answer depends on a few things. First thing is, a 4000k tint is more warm looking than a 5000k but they are very close on the scale of yellow to white light.
      Secondly it can be argued that the 4000k may be a tiny bit better at throwing light effectively, but again the two tints are so close I doubt that will matter. I hope this helps answer your question. If you have any more just ask I am happy to help. Have a great day.

    • @najibnajiyama
      @najibnajiyama 4 года назад +1

      Ok thanks. An online shop here sell 5000k flashlight cheaper than 3k and 4000k. Now I know why. Have a great day too!

    Great review my friend, comparing all your various headlamps.Like yourself, the Skillhunt H03 is still my favorite headlamp.I do like the wide field of view on the SP40. Does it come in any other tints? Your ending beam shots were spot on, great editing technique with each headlamp inside it's own box and the Sofirn SP40 highlighted in the center of the frame! Good to see Claire helping in your video, will she get to keep the SP40? LOL Keep up the great work Richy!

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  5 лет назад +3

      Just heard they now do many tints not just 1 so this is a cheap but very effective headlamp. lol Claire used it for a midnight walk, i like to see what others think of lights as i sometimes overthink it all and need a non flashaholic view of the lights im testing. It took a while to edit i do my best to show a comparison for the viewers.

    I am fairly new to different flashlights, but at that price, for a headlamp of this quality - it is really great.
    Longevity unexplored, yet.
    Got one with magnetic base and ~4k coloror, 3000mah battery.
    May have to order a few more, for the car, fishing and nightwalking, spare extras or giveways!

    Although I've never had an issue with water getting in the usb ports, it wouldn't be my first choice to go swimming with. I'm always cautious with them.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  4 года назад +1

      Yeah I'm not a fan of these flaps. I have had a few walks where I got soaked and a light in my pocket ended up with a bit of water in that area. But I quickly shook it out and there was no issues. I wouldn't wear one in heavy rain or rule caving etc. I'd insist on ipx8.

      Hello there, yes this works with a flat to battery. I tested it with a button to to see if it had a better lockout using a button top. But both worked for me using a Samsung 30q flat and then button top. Hope this helps.

    Was impressed with the reveiw, especially for the price, so I've just done and ordered one. Sorry if I missed it, but does it come with a battery? Or is that being aittle ambitious for price? And last question lol anyone recomend a good rechargeable 18350 and 18650? Appreciate reveiw 👍

      Thank you for reply, and thanks for your posts and reviews, have enjoyed and found very informative for the novice like me 👍. Would you be able to recomend a good 18350 bat too? Also any budget friendly recommendations for equivalent olight S1R or S2R batton? Or are they worth the extra. Be used for kayaking, fishing camping etc. And would you have any recommendations for a small, powerful , waterproof focus able/adjustable beam? Many thanks, and keep up the good work 👍👏🤝

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  4 года назад +1

      Hi mate for the 18350 I tend to stick to either ampsplus or keeppower. If I was you and going kayaking I would pay the extra for the olight. The reason I say this is because they then have a long warranty, guarantee ipx8 water proofing and the way they charge. The mag charging would be perfect if you carry a battery pack with you on the trip. I hope this helps mate 👍😎. If you were not near the water you could grab a cheap light like the 'on the road' stuff. But for your application I would get the olight mate.

      @@TrailTrek hey big TT, thank you for info and advice, very appreciated 👍. If not too fed up with my questions, lol, what would be your recommendation or advice for a edc, small, small ish long throw torch if money no object and for up to 50squids? Again thanks again for great reviews and advice. Interesting and informative 👏👌✌

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  4 года назад +1

      Ok let me think. Small, with long throw. Does it have to be a dedicated thrower? The reason I ask is that the lumintop GT mini is a hell of a thrower yet small and it's right on the price range you asked for 45 to 50 quid. I would check my review though it may be too much of a dedicated thrower. You could go for one of the olight thin throwers but they won't go far and cost more unless you get the mega expensive ones. Have a look at the GT mini and tell me if that's what you are after, if not I can have a rethink I want you to get a light you truly love.

    watching this relaxing and informative review twice now as I wait for my SP40 out for delivery ! Thanks, this helped me choose between the sp40 and nitecore HC65v2, as my needs for the headlamp or not as intensive as what the nitrcore can provide.

    • @TrailTrek
      @TrailTrek  2 года назад +1

      You are completely right. The nitecore is great but the SP40 at the price it is, is incredible value. I have used the SP40 as one of my recommendations when people ask what to buy and every single person has come back and said they love it. So im very confident you will like the flashlight. I have 2 of the SP40 lights, one in my car and one in my bag. You picked a really good one.
