Timmy Mallet was so neon that even though we only had a black and white TV when Wacaday was around, my memories of watching it are all in vivid colour.
Mallett caused tensions in our house because I had to sit through parts of his show to get to Transformers (or the few minutes a day they'd toss us). But my normally calm dad used to get very wound up at Mallett. I mean I didn't want to watch Mallett either, but as a fan of Transformers I was forced into that uncomfortable position.
Ah yes, the 5 mins of Transformers we used to get every weekday of school holidays. My brother and I used to stitch them segments together to create (almost) watchable full episodes.
These videos are absolutely brilliant. Royal Knockout was a masterpiece. Mallet showed up at my Freshers ball at Kings College London in 2002. I have an aftershock-induced haze from that night, but I ended up with a pair of large glasses signed by Mallett.
I love these videos so much. So hilarious but with a huge dose of nostalgia. It wasn't after the JB joking vid and also this one, where you began speaking about PD's Magic Set and carboot magic-book finds, that I realized we had identical interests growing up. Surely you were also a customer of Magic by Post and Joke Shop by Post too?
Iv only just noticed this but I believe that mallet is channeling Kenny Everett somewhat. Would not go as far to say it was intentional but it certainly looks that way to me.
Please unearth some god-awful Phil Cool VHS for your expert analysis. I've always wondered what utter tat would pad out 45 minutes between his Rolf and the show-stopping alien-Wogan 'skit'..
The sheer amount of shite you have to endure to create these should entitle you to some award or something, if anything for the Mallet one alone. And as for Theo being a show-off at parties, could he not borrow his on-screen father's recipe for cocktails? Too soon?
Got to "Fran Fran Frying Pan" and was instantly crippled by memories of a kid from round here who went through the late 80s and early 90s being called "Ray Ray Super Gay" by every child in Seacombe. Sorry, Ray Ray.
I used to loathe Timmy Mallett’s shows as a kid. I didn’t get it, didn’t find his schtick funny. Even as a pretty young child I felt like he was only on TV because execs had a skewed impression of what kids actually wanted to watch (which was in fact Thundercats). I can’t hate him though because I know he’s a nice man.
I wonder if you’ve ever seen the Michaela Strachen Birthday videos produced sometime around the early 90s? It’s absolute cringe as stageschool kids pretend to be at a party with her, watching cartoons or whatever USA sourced crap they can afford I mean the joy of stopping the tape to see which celebrities shared your birthday (and some of the names on the screen would have been unknown to the age demographic the video catered for)? ruclips.net/video/eDxAK742c7Y/видео.html
I got as far as "I wonder if you’ve ever seen the Michaela Strachen Birthday video" before excitedly rushing over to Google to search for it. Alas I then read the rest of your comment and realised it's not THAT kind of video.
i can't believe you didn't mention the one good thing to come from the timmy mallett phenomena; michella strachan. worst. video. eva! once she jumped from timmy onto pete waterman, we saw her at the state in liverpool, and she was trashed beyond belief. best hitman and her show. eva!

Birds of a feather theme out of nowhere just took me right back to sunday night dread.
Oh damn, that's right!
You should be awarded a posthumous Blue Peter badge for wading through this shite.
Timmy Mallet cycled past my house and livestreamed it last year. Having a childhood hero pass by where I live is amazing...I'd imagine.
Saw Timmy Mallett at Mill Gate Shopping centre in Bury in 92 😂

@newsbender they must have just had the rights to 6 of the episodes or something. That or they wanted us to really work for it.

A holy relic
you do the world a service that is too little appreciated. Thank you!
Your commentary’s are fantastic and informative, thank you
The May to December/Fresh Fields bit had me laughing out loud
Timmy always reminded me of Jonathan king

Oh, of course. Those little catalogues ate up my pocket money.
Is that Ian McCulloch at 9:23? If so he's becoming a regular on this channel apparently.
That's because he fackin' loves it, the Scouse tart
I'm struggling to watch this. It's testament to your commentary I was able to suffer Mallet beyond the first three minutes.
Iv only just noticed this but I believe that mallet is channeling Kenny Everett somewhat. Would not go as far to say it was intentional but it certainly looks that way to me.
I think there are similarities, for sure.
Yet it's hard to imagine that Kenny was gay. 😂
@@therespectedlex9794 lol who would have thought it!
I'm in Australia and now their prime minister Albo looks just like Mallet !
Marvellous crud. Keep 'em coming Stuart!

Lots of JR impersonations too, from what little I remember from his 1998 show in Kings Lynn…
Love your videos!!

Sorry, Ray Ray.
Teehee that's pretty funny
We had a ginger kid in our school that we used to call Neil, Neil, Orange Peel
That's because The Young Ones
@thatidiotmonro22yeah but if Ray Ray IS super gay then that's alright
@@MrMmnngghh I genuinely didn't know that. Now I'm doubting my own memories 😂
I accept Timmy Mallett as my Lord and saviour, tis a blessed wacaday.
😂😂
The audience reaction reminds me when north Koreans see Kim Jong Un
Timmy Mallet looking like Jerry Sadowitz on holiday in his cloak n tophat.
16:51 Anybody know where this sample is from? It sounds like a cast recording, but I can't quite place it.
I think it’s the theme tune to Birds of a Feather
Just a reminder that Timmy Mallet tried suing West Ham football club because they use two hammers in their logo
If he managed to relieve Karren Thatcher and the Porno Brothers of some of their laundered tax free theft from public funds then i'm all for it
Sue pollard looking like Jan from Dr Steve Brule
hehe yeh Tim Heidecker
Thank you, this was fun. x
King of Colin Hunts - fantastic.
Absolutely brilliant
17:26 Slightly thinner Gary Busey doing his usual routine
Is that genocide organ that plays when the lady in pink is trying to do faces?
I loved Tammy millet
He them she was a G bk in the day
got a photo with timmy in a nightclub ha ha
Mallet should have ascended no higher than Butlins redcoat
Even then he might have been punching above his weight!
I disagree. He did a great job.
I was four in 1984 and I found Timmy Mallet deeply, _deeply_ naff.
Is that a young Donald trump? 16:25
This is Hannah, she's crazy! No, she's actually mentally ill.

9:40 anyone watching this in 2022?
Spooky!
Once again the woke left have ruined good ole fashioned humor! Back in my day.......ill get my coat. 😞
