Have They Been Here Before? - Celebrity Reincarnation
Only Robin was a Ward (Burt).
Haha wow that was a big nostalgia hit I saw dooby duck in a pantomime when I was about 5-6 and I remember vividly he had the Roly polys along side him does anyone ever remember them ? Jeeze haha no one ever does tbh
Who did rolf paint?
I'm such a dullard, didn't get the Jimmy Piss joke until second watch through ☠️
I was too young to appreciate just how tidy Sarah Greene was at the time.
I 100% salute the use of the Lemmings score accompanying this video!
It's not just the source material the writers fundamentally misunderstand, it's everything. 15:55 "Now they've discovered DVD" Discovered? Is... is that how they think things work? Maybe it was just sitting at the bottom of a mine somewhere, waiting for someone to stumble upon it? I was also immediately struck by _when_ you said this was broadcast, because I so clearly remember seeing the Patrick Stewart version on C4 the year before (one of my favourite adaptations, and one of the most faithful), which I recall being a bit of an event, and I can't help but wonder if that prompted the production of this. If so, they really didn't get the memo.
OH dear, 😯😯
You should get an award for sitting through this stuff.
I discovered your channel a few days ago (RUclips randomly deciding this week was when to suggest your other videos to me, after seeing the _Bad Influence_ video some time ago but not paying any attention to the channel) and I've been properly binging your videos since. Been thoroughly enjoying them, so thank you. But one question - I've watched so many in a short space that my dreams last night were genuinely narrated by you: do I need to pay you some sort of royalty or performance fee for this? 😀
I'll get my revenue through the ads I'll send into your dreams tonight
At 8m 30 looks like Frankie has found a dog turd in his pocket
To just have half a pee now
They all remind me of the golden age of Mike Yarwood because he was also a shit impressionist.
Record Breakers suggests the question, ‘What is “objectively” dull?’ - After all, kids used to minimal telly and just kicking rocks around waste ground to alleviate the ennui would have a different standard from modern kids used to being sandblasted by online content. But I’m reasonably sure those two minutes of darts would have bored me to tears even then. I probably had it on, but only while sprawled on the floor with Lego.
Schnorbitz looking appropriately bemused and confused as the Krankies waved goodbye. No, Schnorbitz, we don’t know how that got commissioned either.
Edmonds you wankah!
Man that is the worst comedy show ive ever had the displeasure of viewing. Kind of glad i didnt have the English channels in the 80s in Ireland now.
I missed this at the time and I’m glad I did. Rubbish jokes and the Funky Feathers. Awful
Brilliant mate
Swing your pants ffs😂
The Krankies were as cringe as it got when I was a kid, I couldn't stand them, back then, and I can't stand them now!
Utter trash but, it's all we had.
Paul Daniels was my childhood hero. To the child me, this man could break all known laws of reality. But more than that, he did so in a way which entertained like no other magician has ever come close to. I impulse purchased some tickets to see him live, in 2014, and seeing him in person has become one of my most treasured memories. Sadly, it was one of his final few performances. Traditional magic was no longer the impressive feat it once was during his peak, thanks to the Masked Magician and the internet. But I was spellbound at just being in the same room as him. I'm not usually starstruck, I don't much care for celebrities, but I was starstruck because he was an actual star.
There was something novel about the manhunt style gameshow.
Good Job they wasn't Irish dart players both of them would be a goner.
Mike and Bernie winters can someone tell me who was the funny one.
Im so old that when we got to the Barrymore clips I thought ' oh, there are recent programmes as well'.
You have such knack for retroactively turning my happy childhood memories into nightmares! Honestly, when I was a kid, few things filled me with as much glee as Paul Daniels' shows. Well, except Wizbit which filled me with terror. That show was clearly delivered through a ouija board. Merry Christmas.
Zippy looked like ET back in the day
And this got away as light 'entertainent'
JFC, if someone tried to foist a TIYL on me, I'd have an instant anxiety attack, sprint away in a fugue state, then hole up in some anonymous motel out in the country for a couple of weeks rocking back and forth on the bed, arms around my knees.
11:53 Holy shit, Eric Morley's hair is a literal optical illusion.
Another banger Stu
21.32 or a band
I'm just trying to sing a nice song for the ladies and gentlemen, and you're trying to spoil it.
I have watched and enjoyed your video essays but...boy, are you anally-fixated and scataligucally obsessed
I bet those kids would rather be at home unwrapping their ZX Spectrums rather than being dragged out to take part in these crappy skits.
Still get it 50 years on, scared me for life
Top notch obscure African UFO case reference.... 👌
Ah man, memory unlocked right here.
You can just tell he's marched Debbie Mcgee out from a load of parties roughly by the elbow.
Preggers with Cheggers.
I grew up in Northern Ireland in the 80s. It's hard to believe now but the Krankies were a normal part of life, just like the Troubles.
Never have tears streaming down my face watching terrestrial .. but a new Stuart Millard.. chuckling for the duration. Hilarious as always.
BLOBBY!!!
Thank You Stuart. Much appreciated. Love your work. All the best to You
You're a barrel of laughs. Not.
Appalling...
2024, I wax working he was the ' turn' . I was uttetly bewildered, he 'did' Norman Collier and a joke about The Speakibg Clock. Both times the paying punters lost their shit. He killed it...
In 1986/87, Whaley was the perfect late night show after you got back from the pub as a teenager ! He always had scantily birds with massive knockers on, and these were the days wayyy before the internet, even GIF wasn't invented until 1987 ! So Whaley's show was prime Tommy Tank material !
