- Never before has the main aircraft of thee long-range aviation, the strategic bomber Tu-160, landed so close to the shores of the United States. This time Combat Approved will tell about the unique flight of the famous White Swans to Chukotka with the first landing in the history of these aircraft at the airport of Anadyr. The viewers will see rare footage of mid-air refueling of the Tu-160, and learn how they were preparing for this difficult flight at the main long-range aviation base in Engels for several years. In addition, Combat Approved will visit the Kazan Aviation plant and will show how they prepare for the production of the aircraft, which in the American press has already been called "the threat of aircraft carriers," Tu-22M3M. This was very enjoyable, great camera work, scritp and machines. Not to say the scenary!

Wow if you love airplanes this such a great video. Airplanes like the TU-160 and B-1B are from a unique era of aircraft design and we will probably never see planes like his designed and built again. I absolutely love the shape and look of their designs and it’s cool to see them still flying.

Engels base in Saratov is the most powerful Russian air base.....there was a military drill years ago....20 TU 95M and 10 TU 160....simulating an attack vs a NATO country....the 30 planes supposedly carried 520 KH-55 cruise missile!!

New Tu160M2 got the latest NK-32-02 engines, which are the biggest and most powerful jet engines ever to be integrated in an aircraft, so yeah Tu160M2 is faster, goes higher and stays up in air for longer
Also i have seen a few articles about a DIRCM and EWCMs planned for Tu160M2, is it true or just assumptions?

The part about US spy flights (and its insinuated nuclear bomber patrols) over Russia stopping because of the 'Bison" bombers' debut, is sheer revisionist history. It was the shooting down of an American U-2 spy plane by the new generation of Soviet anti-aircraft missiles that stopped the flights.
Sure American B-47 (the preceding design before the B-52) bombers were probing the Soviet frontier, but it was the threat of being shot down by
more effective soviet missiles and fighters such as the MIG-21,which caused the USAF to exercise more caution.

The new Tu-160M2 production is planned and confirmed, with new avionics and new NK-32-2 engines.
@@IndoAtheist , Two Tu-160M will be built from the reserved parts and airframes, but with the new engines, actually, one of them has been built already. But the Tu-160M2 will be built from scratch. This is why Russians restored the production facilities, including the very unique titanium welding of big details, the technology which been almost lost.

for a long time i thought the americans had the best hardware. that is because US has a powerfull media. Actually US is not as powerfull as the Russians. I have then nagging suspision US will not be able to match Russian hardware in combat. Russia may not have much, but what they have they have some beasts which they keep improving on instead of creating new.
Do you mean the US hasn't been improving the B-52 (soon to have new engines and EW gear) the F-15 Eagle, the F-18 Super Hornet, and even the
B-2 Stealth bomber (the soon to be fielded B-21 Raider is essentially a vastly updated version of the B-2)

Too bad the Tu-160 and Tu22M3 are still so roughly made.. almost like they were made out of the tractor factory. The number of rivets visible is huge.. no wonder why these have such massive radar cross-sections. Kind of reminds me of the original 70s B-1A.. Russia really needs something with RCS of at least B-1B.. lets see what PAK DA brings to the table..
