what is the failure rate on this product? Many other fans offer longer warranties? I have heard there are issues with the controller? Also why do they use butt connectors instead of sealed automotive grate connectors?

I ordered one of these but my question is why does flex-a-lite only offer a 1 year warranty?
We have no control over how long of a warranty a manufacturer chooses to offer.
