Danban 100% Hope you listen more Peace of Music from this game series Personal recomendation Mechanical Rhythm Engage the Enemy XC2 Counterattack Incoming
The Xenoblade OST is here at last. I can't wait to see not only what you think of this piece, but of the rest of the OST if/when the time comes! The other games in the series also have great OSTs as well!
Just so you know, a lot of VG soundtracks are uploaded with 1 loop because they are built for looping constantly, so the second half of the video really was identical!!
The music loops because it's a battle theme so that repetition is definitely intended, the 2nd variation definitely sounded slightly different upon first pass but yeah
@alexforndran7867 it's very hard to say haha. Across the trilogy that's like 400 tracks, and at least 100 of them are ones I've listened to outside of the game many times.
To address a couple of questions: The battle themes, as they appear on the OST, are on the longer end while similar in content for implementation purposes into the game itself. As for the game, it is a JRPG classic. Great story, great gameplay, and as you heard, great music! I'd highly recommend trying it out, and if you like it, you have the other two entries in the main series to enjoy!
HOLY MOLY, this is just the START of absolute bangers from this series, I hope to see more! The Bionis Shoulder Battle theme is also a banger, plus the Battle theme for Xenoblade 2: Torna the Golden Country expansion. It's honestly been my biggest hope that you'd start reacting to Xenoblade music. Hope to see more soon!
Fogbeast battle is legendary. A song rarely leaves me breathless, and this one had me struggling. This song is essentially a war between the strings and the piano and it is glorious. This song only plays while fighting a type of enemy called fogbeasts and I regularly sought out fogbeasts fights just to hear this song.
A similar style can be found in "A formidable enemy" from Xenoblade 3. The piano, drums and specially the BASS carry that banger of a track. One of my favorites for sure!
Really appreciate how this dude reacts to music. Quick and meaningful commentary, always makes sure to let the watcher know when he rewinds, not weirdly overreacting to things. He just enjoys the music, and gives his professional opinion. Good shit.
Xenoblade has some of the best soundtracks. They tend to echo the games themes. For example Xenoblade 1 has a kind of biological vs mechanical thing going on. The soundtrack has a distinct sound for both and then blends the two gloriously. Meanwhile Xenoblade 3 has flutes being very important to the story and the music reflects that. Here's some song recs- Xenoblade 1: Gaur Plains Mechanical Rhythm Sartorl Marsh (night) Godslaying Sword Xenoblade X: Uncontrollable The Key We've Lost Black Tar Xenoblade 2: Torna battle theme Xenoblade 3: Mobius Battle A Life Sent On Noah and N
As polarising as Xenoblade X's OST is for some people, it really does have some absolutely insane tracks from Sawano. Uncontrollable is one for sure, but I also reccomend Sylvalum's day and (especially) night theme, and "No.EX 01" which goes completely ham on the epic boss fight vibes.
Let’s not forget Time to Fight (Bionis Shoulder)/Brilliant Wings. I feel like reacting to both versions in a video and/or the mashup of them from Nicolas Daoust would be a great time Also the big 3 cutscene bangers and all the Unique Monster songs too lol
@@Dippyboi98 I was doing this off of memory and I never actually acquired XC2's soundtrack so I can never remember the titles lol. I'll let people who actually can recall them speak for 2's recommendations.
This song really gets your blood pumping, goodness. It's so in line with just the sheer thrill, unpredictability and danger that comes with fighting giant fantasy beasts
Oh yeah, as a note, you might find that some uploaded game OSTs will have the track loop at least once before fading/finishing. This is usually done with themes that are (obviously) made to loop in situations which the game can't tell how long the player will stick around on those parts. You'll usually be able to tell this if you're halfway through the video and you can hear it transition to the beginning segment again. HOWEVER, there *are* certain tracks which sound like they might be about to loop, but if you ain't halfway through the video, you might find a pleasant surprise with the direction the track takes.
I would like to add to this, for this song and some other songs from the xenoblade soundtrack, they actually do have ending parts, but as far as I know weren’t accessible to fans since they obviously weren’t in the game files, like you said the tracks are meant to loop. However some of the tracks, including this one, got little ending segments when they were uploaded to Apple Music (last year Nintendo put all the stuff from this game series on there.) whether they were part of the original recording or added on I’m not sure, but it’s pretty cool!
You just took the plunge into one of the greatest videogame series when it comes to OST. The composers just go wild and hard on everything they do in Xenoblade.
Plenty of other people here have said similar things, but there really are few video game soundtracks that are close to being on the level of Xenoblade Chronicles. Even if you ignore the fantastic tracks in the other games, the first game alone has a bunch of absolute bangers like You Will Know Our Names, Mechanical Rhythm, and Engage the Enemy.
“You will know our names, time to fight bionis shoulder , you will recall our names, incoming , mechanical rhythm” Xenoblade has too much good music to list them all. I can easily say you will have fun with their music
If you love this, there are so many other amazing tracks from this series that you should check out! Honestly this doesn't even crack my top 10 which is a testament to the quality of the entire OST.
I was literally about to leave a comment asking you to check out some Xenoblade music so this was a perfectly well timed surprise! This series has amazing music and I really hope you get to listen to a lot of them! As far as saying what the game is about, well that’s kinda hard since each game is kinda different depending on which one so I’ll just say that they’re fantasy/sci-fi JRPG’s with excellent stories. 1, 2 and 3 all have different stories and settings but have a thread that connects them all together, and then you have Xenoblade X which is basically unrelated from the rest of the games and has a heavier emphasis on the science fiction aspect
So glad you decides to check out this song! If you want more Xenoblade recommendations, I recommend time to fight bionis shoulder from the definitive edition future connected soundtrack, moebius battle from 3, ultimate enemy from 3, tactical action from 3, or the great sea stirs from 3
Haven't played the games but stumbled upon Xenoblade due to being nominated for Best Soundtrack for the game awards. All of their music is just so refreshing and FUN! Definitely gotta listen to "Brilliant Wings" from their third game. Jazz ensemble led by an energetic sax player. Can't wait to watch this reaction! EDIT: Great reaction as always, JRPG games I found to have some of the more unique scores in gaming. Because of its genre, I think looping is standard (turn based fights) unless it's actually a story scene. There's also a mashup of this song with Future Connected OST that dials the jam factor to 11!
I'm from Chile, and when i was a kid, i learn english playing videogames, now as adult, i learn how is the good music playing videogames. Xenoblade Chronicles music is absolute masterpieces 🔥
These music channels tend to do at least a repeat of the theme, mostly so it can be more easily looped. The arranged version (offered as an extra in the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition LE) ends around 3:20.
Xenoblade is of the only game series who goes with music FULL OUT. You can drop from emotional piano/violin songs that makes you cry to funky jazz in combat to opera sung city themes to FREAKIN METAL in a matter of one game.

Would highly recommend checking out Torna's battle theme or Moebius battle, Consul M version of the latter is perfection.
This is my favorite piece of music from a Xenoblade soundtrack or at least very up there. You're very right about the jazz influence. Both the XC1 and XC2 DLC have heavy jazz influences and some of that went into the XC3 soundtracks also.
You found a great series for video game music here. Xenoblade 1 was scored mainly by the duo ACE (Tomori Kudo, CHiCO), Kenji Hiramatsu and Manami Kiyota, with a few contributions from video game composer giants Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, etc.) and Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, etc.). Mitsuda returned for both Xenoblade 2 and 3 as the main composer, alongside all the previous musicians (except for Shimomura). Mitsuda is my favorite contemporary composer.
I still remember listening to Chrono Trigger ost and absolutely loving it, assuming that it was written by Uematsu (i was a big final fantasy fan at the time). I had no idea who Mitsuda was. Now he is 100% my number one pick for best video game composer, even though he didn't do every song from Xenoblade that I adore
Xenoblade Chronicles is quite literally the game franchise with the most varied OSTs in the industry. All games are scored by masters in their craft and they are very much listening to
Most varied OST I'd give to Half-Minute Hero: The Second Coming actually. Rock, classical, electronic, 8-bit, etc. It got it all and even blends them very well very often. The first game is niche, the 2nd game is a niche among niche and not even most people who played the first game even know it exists. Soundtrack is made by an all-star cast of Japanese videogame composers though.
@@thenonexistinghero xenoblade has rock, metal, pop, jazz, disco, classical, EDM… Every game has songs with lyrics composed by the CEO himself. For 3 they had special traditional flutes made so the OST would sound unique. There’s just no competition in my humble opinion
@@uncleiroh5983 Your opinion doesn't really matter. The game I mentioned has more variety in its soundtrack than every single Xenoblade game on its own. Not to mention the fact that more composers actually worked on the soundtrack than any single Xenoblade game. And this also includes a few composers that also did work on Xenoblade (and other Xeno games).
@@uncleiroh5983 Must be hard facing the fact that your 'opinion' is factually wrong. I love the Xenoblade soundtracks, but the fact of the matter is that they are not the most varied soundtracks in gaming. That's not an opinion, that's a fact.
Oh yeah, if I could be as bold as to leave ANOTHER comment, it's worth noting that Xenoblade Chronicles 1 was first released on the Nintendo Wii back in 2011. They gave the game a "definitive edition" treatment and released it on Nintendo Switch years later. Both versions of the game basically have 2 different soundtracks with most of the songs being rerecorded with new arrangements. Some people think certain tracks sound better in in the original version of the game, but personally? I think both the original AND the DE versions have absolute bangers which accomplish the job in their own fantastic merits.
The video you played had the song loop, which is why the second half sounded the same. It was lol. For some reason, a lot of Xenoblade music posts on youtube have two loops
Xenoblade is an RPG series. The first game is about the people who live on the bodies of these giant Titans who fought to the death in the past. The people of the first titan are at war with the killer machines from the second titan. The other weapon that effective against them is this magic sword called the Monado which has mysterious powers, like allowing it's wielder to see the future. You unravel the mystery as you travel across the titans and fight back against the machines. The game this song is from is an added epilogue to the first game that was included in the definitive remaster that came out on Switch a few years back.
Xenoblade series have so much amazing music... and I'm glad that seeing you react to this one, I hope you will like Chrono Cross OST too, tought it's a big difference between both of them
In case you haven’t been told yet, the reason this song was so long was because it looped halfway through the video, so the song effectively played two times. Not too much of an issue when the music is this great though imo
you should absolutely play xenoblade! its one of the greatest rpgs ever made and as a series its got amazing music which i feel you will appreciate, amazing characters and amazing story
you should check out You Will Know Our Names, You Will Recall Our Names, and You Will Know Our Names - Finale. they are the unique monster themes from xenoblade 1, 2, and 3 and they are some of the best in the series
I do hope to see some more reactions to the Xenoblade OST. You found a gold mine there. The First game had so many great songs with a lot of variety. What you listened to there was a part of the Extra content for the Definitive Edition, which was made 10 years after the game originally came out. The extra content totally had a more jazzy tone compared to the rest.
Hey Tony! I really recommend that you check out "The Weight of Life" from Xenoblade 3, it is the latest installment in the series and has a great ost. There's a reason it was nominated for music score of the year this year😅👍🏽
Love Xenoblade, and this game is "just" a small epilogue to the main game Xenoblade Definitive Edition. All games from the franchise have fantastic soundtrack. Xenoblade 3 was nominated for best soundtrack at the game awards this year, and deserved to win but lost to GoW Ragnarok due to popularity...
@@DrumRollTonyReacts So far it's only charts. I plan to play it for my Senior recital in this coming March!! Man the piano part is super challenging. I can send my charts through email if that's okay, and you might be able to help see if it's an accurate representation of the track.
If you're looking for cool piano solos check out Full Speed Ahead from Final Fantasy XIII-2. It's got a great piano solo.... as well as drum solo, also a guitar solo along with a violin solo. Yeah... it's a pretty cool track!
Bro when this game came out 2012 best storyline ever best soundtrack oh my gosh I'm still shocked what happened during the story and it still hurts and its a open world beautiful RPG
Oh man am I glad you're doing this seires, all 3 (4 if you count X but it is quite distinct from the others) games have an absolutely stellar OST. For Xenoblade 1, I absolutely love Zanza the Divine, Tragic Decision and Engage the Enemy. 2's bangers are Battle Torna, Drifting Soul, A Moment of Eternity and Tantal (Day) in my opinion. 3's is amazing all across the board but Weight of Life, Eclipse Homecoming, Moebius M Battle, Where we Belong, A Step Away and Agnus Colony theme are my absolute favorites. I personally felt the Soundtrack of the year nominations at this years Game Awards were all really strong but and I wanted Xenoblade 3 to win, which it sadly did not (not to discredit GOW:R its OST is also great).
I wish your reactions to Xenoblade songs had gotten a lot more views.. It would have incentivized you to react to more of this series' music 😔 I guess Xenoblade isn't mainstream enough
I REALLY hope you check out more xenoblade, the soundtrack is genuinely incredible. Spoilers for the final boss of xc1, but... . . . . . . . . . . I WOULD LOVE fo see your reaction to the song "Zanza the Divine" (or just, "Zanza" sometimes)
Hey Tony! I see you've been dipping your toes into anime and gaming music a lot. So, I was wondering if you'd be interested in listening to Guilty Gear Strive's soundtrack. I personally recommend Roar of the Spark, but there are no bad choices in that game. Seriously!
Xenoblade chronicles has the best ost of all video games (ofc this is my unbiased totally objective option ...). My suggestions (so many amazing other pieces not listed, off the top of my head): Xenoblade chronicles 3 - Weight of life Xenoblade chronicles 3 - Moebius battle M (the M version has 1 extra layer) Xenoblade chronicles 3 - brilliant wings (follow to the ost in this video) Xenoblade chronicles 2 - counterattack Xenoblade chronicles 2 - incoming Xenoblade chronicles 2 - roaming the wastes Xenoblade chronicles 2 torna - battle!! Xenoblade chronicles - main theme Xenoblade chronicles - mechanical rhythm Xenoblade chronicles - engage the enemy Xenoblade chronicles - zanza the divine These 3 should be reacted to back to back Xenoblade chronicles - you will know our names Xenoblade chronicles 2 - you will recall our names Xenoblade chronicles 3 - you will know our names - finale
The best piece from Xenoblade Chronicles' soundtrack is "Tragic Decision", imho. It's not a bad soundtrack, but it's not as legendary as the soundtrack from Nier: Gestalt/Replicant. Every game from the RPG genre has a goldmine of good music! Here's a small list of some of my favorites: 1. "Asgore's Theme" from Undertale 2. "Kaine Salvation" from Nier: Gestalt/Replicant 3. "Blazing Impact" from Rudra no Hihou 4. "Hunter's Chance" from Final Fantasy 9 5. "Tokyo" from Shin Megami Tensei 4 6. "Lazy Afternoons" from Kingdom Hearts 2 7. "Murder by a Psycho" from Live-A-Live 8. "Ramza's Theme" from Final Fantasy Tactics (not an RPG. I know...) 9. "Long Days of Rest" from Wild Arms 3 10. "Dreams of The Shore Near Another World" from Chrono Cross I could list a couple thousand of these... But, don't want to write a book in the comment section!
This piece really reminds me of Vardavar by Tigran Hamasyan and if you don't know who that is I HIGHLY suggest you react to him or at least check out his music.
The soundtracks of the Xenoblade games give 120% on every piece, this one's good but not even up there with the best. The games are also just great in general and I strongly recommend them. Probably not amazing stream material though, they're pretty lengthy affairs.
Please do one of the most legendary meme'd anime songs, which is Silhouette by Kana Boon from Naruto Shippuden. They also have another song called Naimononedari. Both are awesome.
Compared to the fight this went with this did not have to go so hard. I personally didnt vibe with the entire Fog King plotline, but this music was fire

You're right, the song in fact is around 3 minutes but loops, so it plays twice in the video.
A lot of Xenoblade music uploaders loop the battle and area themes (idk why). So if it's that long, you can usually assume it looped
Xenoblade series have so much amazing music... and I'm glad that seeing you react to this one, I hope you will like Chrono Cross OST too, tought it's a big difference between both of them
You should check out "VORACITY" by MYTH & ROID full version (Overlord OP 3). Such a great song.
If you want more piano, dark beast ganon phase 1 and 2 from legend of Zelda breath of the wild are great for insane piano solo parts
Yes !! Both Fogbeast Battle and Dark Beast Ganon are my favorite piano parts in any video game music !
Oh my god…you’re finally doing Xenoblade…you are NOT going to be disappointed in the slightest!
Xenoblade 3 ost: keves battle is amazing
Love your breakdowns man.
The entire discography of these games is SSS tier. I’m NOT KIDDING.
Hope you do more xenoblade! Also, really liked your analysis :D
Lets go xenoblade reaction? Didnt expect this 🎉
You definitely should listen to other musics from the Xenoblade series!
It is criminal he’s not listened to Brilliant Wings yet
I transcribed this whole thing including the solo and it was CRAZY. Took me hours but it’s def worth it.
Does that live in a video or only in sheet music? Would love to see
@@DrumRollTonyReacts So far it's only charts. I plan to play it for my Senior recital in this coming March!! Man the piano part is super challenging. I can send my charts through email if that's okay, and you might be able to help see if it's an accurate representation of the track.
@@spatialfrequency6707 I am sure the charts are amazing. Would love to see it! drumrolltony@gmail.com
If you're looking for cool piano solos check out Full Speed Ahead from Final Fantasy XIII-2. It's got a great piano solo.... as well as drum solo, also a guitar solo along with a violin solo. Yeah... it's a pretty cool track!
ahhh i hope we see more xeno
Bro when this game came out 2012 best storyline ever best soundtrack oh my gosh I'm still shocked what happened during the story and it still hurts and its a open world beautiful RPG
This track is from the Future Connected DLC which is in the Definitive Edition, so it came out in 2020.
Damn, so much good music to discover, isnt it wonderful?
p.s. Id like to see reaction to Persona OSTs
bro if you like this piano solo you should also check out the torna battle theme if you havent already, its so funky in the best way
The next game is going to be like a music album release
I wish your reactions to Xenoblade songs had gotten a lot more views.. It would have incentivized you to react to more of this series' music 😔 I guess Xenoblade isn't mainstream enough
I REALLY hope you check out more xenoblade, the soundtrack is genuinely incredible.
Spoilers for the final boss of xc1, but...

I WOULD LOVE fo see your reaction to the song "Zanza the Divine" (or just, "Zanza" sometimes)
The music of this serie is great
Hey Tony! I see you've been dipping your toes into anime and gaming music a lot. So, I was wondering if you'd be interested in listening to Guilty Gear Strive's soundtrack. I personally recommend Roar of the Spark, but there are no bad choices in that game. Seriously!
should definitely check out Brilliant Wings from xenoblade 3, also jazzy as hell
Xenoblade chronicles has the best ost of all video games (ofc this is my unbiased totally objective option ...).
My suggestions (so many amazing other pieces not listed, off the top of my head):
Xenoblade chronicles 3 - Weight of life
Xenoblade chronicles 3 - Moebius battle M (the M version has 1 extra layer)
Xenoblade chronicles 3 - brilliant wings (follow to the ost in this video)
Xenoblade chronicles 2 - counterattack
Xenoblade chronicles 2 - incoming
Xenoblade chronicles 2 - roaming the wastes
Xenoblade chronicles 2 torna - battle!!
Xenoblade chronicles - main theme
Xenoblade chronicles - mechanical rhythm
Xenoblade chronicles - engage the enemy
Xenoblade chronicles - zanza the divine
These 3 should be reacted to back to back
Xenoblade chronicles - you will know our names
Xenoblade chronicles 2 - you will recall our names
Xenoblade chronicles 3 - you will know our names - finale
First 10 seconds sounds like ultra instinct
The best piece from Xenoblade Chronicles' soundtrack is "Tragic Decision", imho. It's not a bad soundtrack, but it's not as legendary as the soundtrack from Nier: Gestalt/Replicant. Every game from the RPG genre has a goldmine of good music!
Here's a small list of some of my favorites:
1. "Asgore's Theme" from Undertale
2. "Kaine Salvation" from Nier: Gestalt/Replicant
3. "Blazing Impact" from Rudra no Hihou
4. "Hunter's Chance" from Final Fantasy 9
5. "Tokyo" from Shin Megami Tensei 4
6. "Lazy Afternoons" from Kingdom Hearts 2
7. "Murder by a Psycho" from Live-A-Live
8. "Ramza's Theme" from Final Fantasy Tactics (not an RPG. I know...)
9. "Long Days of Rest" from Wild Arms 3
10. "Dreams of The Shore Near Another World" from Chrono Cross
I could list a couple thousand of these... But, don't want to write a book in the comment section!
If u want a good scary game then you cant go wrong with alien isolation.
This song is underrated.
Snow time everyone genshin impact fans l can't wait for this week 😀!
If he react to kingdom heart ill be so happy lmao
It isn’t a scary series, but play it anyway, and stream it.
この曲ゼノブレイドで一番好き
This piece really reminds me of Vardavar by Tigran Hamasyan and if you don't know who that is I HIGHLY suggest you react to him or at least check out his music.
just the best game of all time :)
The soundtracks of the Xenoblade games give 120% on every piece, this one's good but not even up there with the best. The games are also just great in general and I strongly recommend them.
Probably not amazing stream material though, they're pretty lengthy affairs.
Please do one for Moebius Theme or The Weight of Life from Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Hey tony, you should check out blue lock's opening, the opening is amazing
You should check out Dwarf Fortress' OST that got released few weeks ago.
Bro looks like an Italian mob boss version of Christian Bale. No hate, I loved you in Batman/Godfather
Would you mind to do a music analysis to a 22 years old song titled "ROMAN PICISAN" by DEWA? Hope you can check this out.
Please do one of the most legendary meme'd anime songs, which is Silhouette by Kana Boon from Naruto Shippuden. They also have another song called Naimononedari. Both are awesome.
Please react to Nyango Starr. Japanese drummer
I thought I heard goku's ultra instinct theme for a few sec
Holy shit I never heard the end of the theme. Literally no battle in the DLC that would get to that point lol
Haha well I'm glad that worked out here
Could you react to some of the music Xenoblade 2 please? The famous "Counterattack" for example
Compared to the fight this went with this did not have to go so hard. I personally didnt vibe with the entire Fog King plotline, but this music was fire
You need to react to more Nintendo ost's I would suggest Zelda ocarina of time, super mario galaxy and pokemon black and white just to name a few...
Yo tony you should really react to Flashback by miyavi
