- Springfield, IL - Rocker, hunter and gun enthusiast Ted Nugent was the keynote speaker for the 108th Sangamon County Republican Lincoln Day Dinner. He says "The world sucks but America sucks less." During Firday's address to the $100 dollar a plate dinner at the Prairie Capital Convention Center, Nugent urged Sangamon County Republicans to "fix" people who do not share the same values. Nugent also says that what happens in Illinois, like the ban on carrying firearms in public, happens to the country.
Amen Ted Nugent you showed that it's ok to be straight and happy.

Just this morning here in Oz I bought the 1886 Browning centennial 45-70. Looking at the beauty of that gun, its octagonal barrel, blued metal, double breach lock, made me appreciate the creative energy America once stood for. Protect your constitution friends and don't ever fall for the gag that being disarmed makes you a better person. Disarmament creates a nation of standby cowards.

+Robbie Fortner Who made you (or any gun owner) the judge? Someone who carries a gun does it because he/she wants to kill other people. That's the bottom line. All the other talk about self defense or defending yourself from the government is a big pile of horseshit.
The carrier of the gun has the power to be the plaintiff, the prosecutor, the judge/jury, and the executioner in one person. So based on the principle of the separation of powers (legislative, judicial, enforcement) that describes a democracy having a gun should be illegal in a true democracy. Somebody who is on the suffering end of a gun shot had no fair trial, no lawyer, no opportunity to appeal. The person who pulls the trigger is basically a self appointed god who thinks he/she can take the life of another human being away (regardless how bad the other human being is).
The second amendment is obsolete, my friend. Just like once it was OK to own slaves, now it is OK to have guns and decide who is to live or die. This should not be this way. The Constitution is a living document, it can be changed at any time if enough people support the change.

Back in 1981, I attended a transmitter training class (I'm a broadcast engineer) in Quincy, IL. Every morning, in the restaurant at the motel where I was staying, the main topics of conversation were hunting & shooting!
